Its a shame that you are holding back on getting one, its a great kit and awesome in game. mines done me proud in both the games its been involved in, though i'm considering changing to using lascannon sponsons rather than heavy bolters (not that either is attatched yet)

anyhoo very small update today.. been working on something for my terminators..

modelled after the "pickelhaube" helmets im scattering throughout the army.. some will have the spike, others wont, but i'm happy with the result as it is quintisentially death guard.

I'm so thrilled with how many quality artists are doing heresy era armies and your death guard are going to be so cool to follow along with Cpt Sempers EC! Your death shroud is very well done and I think you've found the perfect olive green for them and the weathering is not over done yet convincing at this scale.

thanks guys!

couldn't help myself, got the brushes out!

i'm going to be replicating the head and doing some alternate versions with extra breathing equipment too.. exentually planning on working up to a fully customized heavy chemical flamer squad as the reaping makes them a troops choice :biggrin.:

Loving the dude Lorenzen, my only gripe, and it's nothing to do with your work, is the size of the freaking AC. It just looks horrendously cumbersome and ridiculous. Other than that though the model looks great, really can't wait to see the Sicarian finished.

Awesome looking force developing here!

Just signed up at Loyalty and Treachery and am looking forward to trying out your painting recipe as I got some Mk3 marines on their way in the mail. Mine are going to be based around the loyalist Istvaan III survivors and are going to be appropriately scarred and damaged.

Do you use the same recipe on your tanks? Or is it altered at all?

Terminator version of Kael and a cataphractii command squad to go with him (theyll be getting a mk2b to ride about in soon).. theres still a lot of work that needs to be done to them to make the arms look like they belong.. Kael is very wip atm, hes going to get some spikes on his right pad and a lot of definition needs to be done to his cloak.. needs a mohawk etc.

oh and for those who dont look in my other thread..

Awesome work on them Lovely and gorgeus terminators there mate! :biggrin.:
And is it hard to get rid of them cannons and replace em with twinlinked bolters like you have? realy nice convesions on the arms by the look of it now   Love the terminators and whant them but dont have the DG myself..

Btw that face on Calas Thypon is Amazing! the Eye is perfect!

Edited by Xavier Targhost

Most of the arms are cut off at the elbow and have cataphractii forearms in their place, a few are carved into shape from the launcher arms and will be resculpted to have the correct details..

The banner is a bit of metal sheet, it will have some detail sculpted onto it before long.. Edgar Skomorowski suggested it to me as an option.

Kael is absolutely fantastic. The Death Guard terminator sets have so far been the most characterful of the releases, and really fill the role of even the bog standard Cataphractii.

If you're willing to take some small bits of contstructive criticism from a pleb such as myself ( :D ) the lightning claw and blaster combo would look better if he was posed like the chain fist guy. The length of the claws 'widen' the model and the leg pose exacerbates the issue. Maybe curling the claws inward and twisting the fist like he's performing a bicep curl would work with a head turned towards the claw.

Again, just my two cents. I'd never presume to instruct the master :D
