Thousand Eyes
He looks like he is coming together well already. You put a level of effort into your minis that puts me to shame. I shall have try harder. Having only just found your thread I have 28 unread pages so far to keep me going though, looking forward to it.

DuskRaider
Well... that picture IS pretty awesome... I suppose it will do. We are all eagerly awaiting an update, though.

Lorenzen
They'd have to drag me kicking and screaming from B&C and astartes.. Right minor DG update to prove that work is still going on.. the arms on the leviathan are blutacked in place whilst he awaits magnets.. he'll be magnetized at the elbow and wrists so that i can have every load out including dual choppy and dual grindy fists.. really though its all about the giant grav guns.. There is also an atropos being built for house makabius and another spartan which will be dedicated to the grave wardens finally (yay for built in tracks!) SalvationOfReason
Wow, that Leviathan Dread really is gigantic! The name is fact!
Lorenzen
Yeah the Leviathan is huge and generally an awesome model and speaking of which i've done a bit of work on mine.. modified my DG recipe so that its a little less annoying and am pretty happy with the result so far. recon0321, GrandMagnus, Kizzdougs and 9 others 12 Back to top
Marshal Rohr
The new recipe looks great. Do I detect the new FW paints?
Olis
I notice the shading at the mid-armour crease, brother. Seems to be in vogue. ;) Lorenzen 1 Back to top
Kizzdougs
The Leviathan looks awesome, dude! The new scheme looks like it works really well too :tu:
Lorenzen
Nah no fw paints, swapped out the oil wash for a mix of klear, sepia and agrax earthshade as the oil was giving me mixed results lately.. with a little tweaking i reckon this will be more consistant & grant me quicker turnover on models Yeah the gradient on the chest is quite subtle in comparison to most.. but it adds a bit of interest to a large flat area.. did the same thing on the fist contemptor. As airbrushes get more popular youll start to see an increase in that style for vehicles Edited October 28, 2015 by Lorenzen
Marshal Rohr
If you don't mind could you explain the new process? I use the burnt umber oil wash on my fists and if you've found a way to make the result more consistent I'd love to hear it!
Brother Heinrich
Damn dude that's gorgeous and it's not even half finished yet.
DuskRaider
Man, Lorenzen... That's a great start and I can't tell you how happy I am to see you back to the XIVth.
Lorenzen
The replacement wash is pretty simple.. its rougjly even parts sepia and agrax HEAVILY thinned with the fw klear you want to wash it onto the panels and soak up any excess if it starts to pool. Lorenzen
Bit more work on the Leviathan.. mainly getting the base for the metals down and grubbying him up a little more. Marshal Rohr
I take it you use a brush for your metallics right? or do you do a little of both where it is applicable?
Lorenzen
If i can get away with using an airbrush i will for broad areas so the inside of the chassis behind the arms for example was airbrushed (arms come off) and a lot of the back.. but bits like the arms and the joints for the legs were done with a regular brush Marshal Rohr 1 Back to top
Marshal Rohr
Thanks for the reply, brother. Im looking into getting into airbrushing, so I thought I'd pick your brain ;) .
