Araziel
Looking forward to seeing more beautiful (erm.. is that the word?!) Plague Marines coming. I think Nurgle has a strong chance of winning the sub-Chaos faction competition in pure points numbers, considering how effective we became in 6th Ed, coupled with our high points costs.... Looking forward to seeing you're progress! Good luck Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/262615-death-guard-rebuilding-a-legion-110119-the-year-ahead/page/2/#findComment-3372729 Share on other sites
Chaeron
Vow complete! Despite managing to drop them out of my case and requiring some emergency repairs - they're done, huzzah! http://i29.photobucket.com/albums/c254/TheNewAgeOutlaw/GW/IMG-20130615-00246_zps9c09c225.jpg Seems only fair to follow this up tomorrow with a mega-vow, right? It also drove me to go back to many tiny things I'd missed on the previous bunch of 35 - and so will hopefully correct that tomorrow :) Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/262615-death-guard-rebuilding-a-legion-110119-the-year-ahead/page/2/#findComment-3394267 Share on other sites

Chaeron
Sadly, it appears that I've lost a few posts and some lovely comments with the forum issues. Never fear, I will copy what I did for Vows II and III here! My second vow was:To complete ten Cultists with a Flamer - huzzah:http://i29.photobucket.com/albums/c254/TheNewAgeOutlaw/GW/IMG-20130601-00224_zps0d1b02a2.jpg Without further ado:http://i29.photobucket.com/albums/c254/TheNewAgeOutlaw/GW/Cultists1_zpsbf6d4f60.jpghttp://i29.photobucket.com/albums/c254/TheNewAgeOutlaw/GW/Cultists2_zpsf10f8813.jpg And then went and did the ones with Autoguns: Beast these last few days:http://i29.photobucket.com/albums/c254/TheNewAgeOutlaw/GW/Cultists3_zps116c0010.jpghttp://i29.photobucket.com/albums/c254/TheNewAgeOutlaw/GW/Cultists4_zps908a04ae.jpg New vow of three Obliterators with the Mark of Nurgle, yes please! Chaeron
Powered through! Done: http://i29.photobucket.com/albums/c254/TheNewAgeOutlaw/GW/Complete1_zpsae820944.jpg And now, a fifth, and final vow: I,Chaeron, answer the call of E TENEBRAE LUX and vow once more tocomplete a total of three Obliterators with the Mark of Nurgle fromCodex: Chaos Space Marines of total value 228 Points on or before August15th. Success will bring eternal glory to The Fallen and GodfatherNurgle and failure will doom me to bear the Badge of Shame and to rot silently like the corpse emperor until the year-end. Here's a picture prior to stripping and painting: http://i29.photobucket.com/albums/c254/TheNewAgeOutlaw/GW/Oblits2_zps98a4a97c.jpg They'll be painted in a similar scheme to those above :) Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/262615-death-guard-rebuilding-a-legion-110119-the-year-ahead/page/2/#findComment-3421250 Share on other sites

Chaeron
One of the next projects is actually do something with my Forgeworld stuff, as it's been on the back burner for along time. First up, Havocs!http://i29.photobucket.com/albums/c254/TheNewAgeOutlaw/GW/Havocs_zps3553b5fe.jpgOn the whole, that's a nice little dry fit exercise. There'll be a fair amount of green stuff work to sort the joins and lengthening the backpacks.I think it'll look good when done though - although I've gone with helmet-less heads! TheDevourer
Very well done on all your vows ;). Many benevolent thanks for your commitment to the etl ;). Can´t wait to see the havocs completed. However, I shall be sniggering ever so slightly (painting helmet-less heads is a nightmare I find, can never get them the way I want) :P What´s the plan once you finish the havocs off? What have you still got left to paint? Chaeron
Haha, I never mind - I'm happy enough with my ususal skin tone - so fingers crossed it'll work well for them too! I've got another... maybe eight to ten thousand points to paint?! What I think I'll do by choice next will be repainting Typhus and the new Deathshroud :) Thinking I might try and get through the Bikers at some point - there's a list I'm working up to, and I also really need to get my Rhinos done too for that. But, the thing is, I've got a LOT of stripping to do - and won't have the time for that until September. Then I'll start getting Dettol vats in place and going on a rampage  Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/262615-death-guard-rebuilding-a-legion-110119-the-year-ahead/page/2/#findComment-3422658 Share on other sites
TheDevourer
Ok wow 8 to 9k eh . I´m frustrated with 2k lying around to complete now after the etl . Love the deathshroud models to bits, will you be making them a little more nurgle? Or keeping them fairly clean? I might be having a little break too. I´m done painting for at least a month, all my washes are empty anyhow : Care to share the list? Edit: Just clicked it all together comes out at 2640 points of unpainted models *sigh*. But the model count itself is fairly low. Just 96 models *begins to sob slightly* Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/262615-death-guard-rebuilding-a-legion-110119-the-year-ahead/page/2/#findComment-3422679 Share on other sites
Chaeron
Absolutely! We came up with this over at PapaNurgle, trying to make the best list we could (without going overboard on any feature), so competitive but all-round. Probably needs more Heldrakes haha. But, here we go: 1848 Pts - Perfect Plague Marine ListHQ: Chaos Lord (1#, 140 pts)1 Chaos Lord, 140 pts (Mark of Nurgle; Close Combat Weapon; Power Axe x1; Chaos Bike; Sigil of Corruption; Warlord)Fast Attack: Chaos Bikers (206 pts)5 Chaos Bikers,(Mark of Nurgle; Meltagun x2)1 Biker Champion (Melta Bombs; Bolt Pistol; Lightning Claw x1)Troops: Plague Marines (248 pts)6 Plague Marines,(Meltagun x2)1 Plague Champion (Melta Bombs; Boltgun; Bolt Pistol; Lightning Claw x1)1 Chaos Rhino (Dozer Blade; Combi-Boltgun)Troops: Plague Marines (248 pts)6 Plague Marines,(Meltagun x2)1 Plague Champion (Melta Bombs; Boltgun; Bolt Pistol; Lightning Claw x1)1 Chaos Rhino (Dozer Blade; Combi-Boltgun)Troops: Plague Marines (238 pts)6 Plague Marines (Flamer x2)1 Plague Champion (Melta Bombs; Boltgun; Bolt Pistol; Lightning Claw x1)1 Chaos Rhino (Dozer Blade; Combi-Boltgun)Troops: Chaos Cultists (70 pts)14 Chaos Cultists, 70 pts1 Cultist ChampionFast Attack: Heldrake (170 pts)1 Heldrake (Baleflamer)Heavy Support: Chaos Vindicator (125 pts)1 Chaos Vindicator, (Dozer Blade)Heavy Support: Forgefiend (175 pts)1 Forgefiend, 175 pts (2x Hades Autocannons)Heavy Support: Obliterator (228 pts)3 Obliterator, (Mark of Nurgle)Which means, I've got to do the following:Convert Lord for appropriate weaponry.Paint five Bikers (WIP)Ensure I've got two painted LC armed Champs (I deffo have one...)Make my three Rhinos I bought not look terrible.Potentially add a dozer blade to my Vindicator (will be in Iron Warriors colours though) - although it has a siege shield anyway...Ensure that my Forgefiend (next new project, is to build two more...) has Hades weaponry (built as an Ectofiend - my new one is nearly done though!)Looks so much easier when I put it like that. But it's a lot to do! TheDevourer
Looks like a decent list ;). And which list doesn´t need more heldrakes :P. Are you going to wait til it´s all done before you have a couple of games? Because I would be interested as to how well the list does. Look at the building thing in a good light, 8 dudes and some tanks (don´t remind yourself how many tanks :P) I think having to paint tanks is why I have none at the moment. Still have 2 nightlords rhinos, but I will be getting new ones and converting them with fantasy plague carts. Wish you the best of luck with your plagues. If you keep at the etl pace you´ll be finished in no time ;). Chaeron
Cheers man! Yeah, we've spent awhile working it - trying to work to what we feel is the optimum but retaining that flexibility. Hard with the Codex but hey ho! Plan is to bosh through it in the next few weeks and get gaming as soon as possible - was supposed to use it in a tournament in July but it got cancelled. Hopefully, will be one soon enough to properly put it through its paces! Yup, in the scheme of things it isn't loads - so I'm not too fussed. Just out of white spray primer at the moment, so will need to buy a bulk load more. Think I'm leaning towards Hycote currently...! Will have to do that when I get paid at the end of the month. I really don't go over the top with making them look excessively plagued, which I think helps - because picking out all the detail would be a pain haha. So yeah, the Deathshroud will probably be pretty clean - but hoping to rough them up some, make them look like they've been through hell and back... Thanks for the positive comments - means a lot! TheDevourer
Well done brother ;). Harder work next time for all of us if we want to beat the loyalist scum *Grits teeth*. Chaeron
Well done brother . Harder work next time for all of us if we want to beat the loyalist scum *Grits teeth*. But an impressive effort this time around nonetheless! P.s The banner looks so much better with 5 bolter shells Haha, yup - great representatives of the Chaos Faction us! Needed to fix up a few of my Defilers - who were rather worse for wear. I've had the two on the left since they were released - however, they've gone through a few different forms and their legs have broken off several times. I ended up missing one on the middle Defiler, so had to get him a new one. As part of an ebay auction, picked up the one on the right - again in poor condition - and he needed two, but they look pretty cool. They're from the Soul Grinder instead, and the spare pad from the other leg I'd bought meant that all those legs have the armour playing, which isn't the case on the middle... at least I'm consistent. The one in the middle previously was my army's centre-piece, with organic parts beneath it that spawned Nurglings. Alas, when the green stuff and putty melted, I was devastated, and I resolved to butcher it and make it into more of a crawler. Hence, the design you see now. In attempting to make it WYSIWYG, I've had to attached the weapons in certain places that are quite unique. The other two will require the odd weapon attachment, but now all have Reaper Autocannons and Havoc Launcher as standard. They'll need a fair bit of putty in places to tidy up joins etc. but should make them look like they've been properly Daemonicly welded together, Dark Mechanicus style. Lots of stripping to be done still. Without further ado, these bad boys: http://i29.photobucket.com/albums/c254/TheNewAgeOutlaw/GW/IMG-20130821-00436_zps6c583a28.jpg This one is a bit wonky - hey ho. Chaeron
Well, you asked for an army shot, so I thought I'd take a couple. This was what I could reasonably cart downstairs and could count as being work-in-progress or near complete - but I'm another eight or nine squads short, no Terminators, no Mauler/Forge hybrid, etc. - but, this'll do!http://i29.photobucket.com/albums/c254/TheNewAgeOutlaw/GW/IMG_1438_zps13f82313.jpghttp://i29.photobucket.com/albums/c254/TheNewAgeOutlaw/GW/IMG_1448_zpsf9bcf28d.jpghttp://i29.photobucket.com/albums/c254/TheNewAgeOutlaw/GW/IMG_1439_zps62a8230f.jpghttp://i29.photobucket.com/albums/c254/TheNewAgeOutlaw/GW/IMG_1449_zpsa71a72ac.jpghttp://i29.photobucket.com/albums/c254/TheNewAgeOutlaw/GW/IMG_1440_zps1afc02f1.jpghttp://i29.photobucket.com/albums/c254/TheNewAgeOutlaw/GW/IMG_1446_zps4060a482.jpghttp://i29.photobucket.com/albums/c254/TheNewAgeOutlaw/GW/IMG_1443_zps9db9179c.jpghttp://i29.photobucket.com/albums/c254/TheNewAgeOutlaw/GW/IMG_1445_zps2582c067.jpghttp://i29.photobucket.com/albums/c254/TheNewAgeOutlaw/GW/IMG_1441_zps60c2c3b6.jpghttp://i29.photobucket.com/albums/c254/TheNewAgeOutlaw/GW/IMG_1442_zpsf990b1a8.jpghttp://i29.photobucket.com/albums/c254/TheNewAgeOutlaw/GW/IMG_1447_zps98c8dff1.jpgHope you like it! Chaeron
Okay, it's been a little while but I've made some really good progress on these. Distracted by living between two places and lots of commuting, in addition to start my PhD. Busy boy!
