Today I started assembling my Primaris Wolf Lord. I have picked up the birthday special captain and started wolfing him up a bit. I have left the leg off to make painting the inner lining of the cloak easier.

Not sure whether to replace the shoulder pads with Wolf ones or not. The left pad has the small shield attached and the right one is not the regular fitting. Perhaps he is wolfy enough.

TITH I tried out a slightly darker armor color for my chapter. Any thoughts on left (original) vs right (darker)?

Not what you are asking about, but damn the right one made me realise how ridiculous the proportions are (not that I didn't already know about it though). Without the backpack and shoulderpads it's so much more obvious that the head is about as huge as the torso lol

I think the darker colour looks like it has more definition so it looks superior to my eyes. The lighter shade would probably make weathering blood effects and the like stand out better though.

That was quite long-winded way of saying "the second one, maybe" :tongue.:

I like the darker color, it has a bit more definition to it. I'm not a fan of pure blacks or whites anyway, however, hence the affinity for the slightly darker color.

Thanks all, here's a natural light photo that shows colors better. My setup at my desk washes out photos:

Any change in thoughts?

Under the natural light, the darker one still looks better to me. Greater definition. However, as stated by others, the white would probably take to weathering and blood better.

TITH, I picked up a Tooth and Claw set with my tax return - first tax return, by the way! - and I'm building it right now. Definitely doing Wolves, and I've got a metal Broodlord I'm gonna run as a Patriarch with the Cults. I owe my FLGS manager/friend $20 now, but hey, I have a job, I can make that happen. I had fun with the Intercessor squad - I kinda vaguely built it as a Kill Team sort of thing, with each model having a bit of personality to him. I've got a Leader with chainsword, a Combat specialist with the slung rifle, a studded pauldron and a cross-draw dagger, a Veteran with a Wolfy necklace who's shooting with his pistol, a Heavy with a grenade launcher and a bare (shouting) Wolfy head, and a non-specialist who barely looks Wolfy at all, aside from the upgrade pauldron. Everybody got Auto Bolt Rifles because I've wanted to try 'em for a while. I also did a headswap on the Battle Leader (gave him the mohawk head off of the Wolves upgrades and used both of his heads for the Intercessors) and built one Genestealer, the Abominant and the Iconward. I'm planning on keeping all of it.

TITHI finished my third Claw as much as I can until their heads show up on Friday:

Well.... I need to do the lightning, but yeah :laugh.:

Looooove it.

On my end, I continue to work on miscellaneous non-Raven projects, including a whole Tooth and Claw box. Raven Guard have kinda been put on hold for the time being in favor of my Wolves and GSC, as a result. Met the vow and then some, so I'm happy with it.

TITHI Built a deathguard champion, a haemotrope reactor, 5 sniper scouts for my nephews army (a thing i know i'll regret when they start sniping my characters) and started converting a lord of contagion.

Also finished the basic details on three myphitic blight haulers and three plague drones, still got some washes, technical paint stuff (Nihilakh Oxide etc), pustules and buboes to do but getting there

Tomorrow i plan on helping my nephew paint his new scouts

TITH I converted by truescale Grimaldus. Tomorrow I'm planning on taking some pretty photos of what I've painted this month, so I'll probably bluetac the subassemblies together so I've got some nice pre-painting photos of Grimaldus too. In the meantime, there's rough phone photos on my IG story.

Thanks! I finished them this morning, but I'll take a picture when they're all based tomorrow (at my local GW)

YITH I built 3 Kans and 5 Stormboyz. Working on 3 more Kans today and will try to build the 10 boyz I've got. Goal is to prime this week and start painting as well.

EDIT: 3 more Kans done before work, and I gave all the Kans a quick prime with Boltgun  (not shown as they're drying right now) to make life easier going forward:

Dat's roight stompy, mate.

Ahem. TITH, I based my GEEEEENESTEALERS using an old, beat-up drawer organizer with a neat metal grate texture and some zip ties. I assembled the bases last night and painted them today.

Oh, uh... yeah, I own a Genestealer Cult now, as of a couple days ago. Dunno if I mentioned it on the forum at all. They were fun to paint, and the photos do not do them justice. ^^
