Some good work in here and I'm a little envious of your scratch building skill, but I think this glow effect could use a little tweaking to push the effect some more. The glow on the right side of his face looks too heavy and some brighter highlights on the prominent edges, like his chin, upper lip, tip of the nose, etc could really make the effect pop.

I tried adding the feedback I got testing some new methods to see if I can improve the recipe for chaosness.

 

so please keep the ideas coming and opinions always happy to hear.

 

tiny update on the rhino, made the hard bits now its the slightly tedious rivets marking drill glue and fill it, then rinse and repeat. mmm rivets....

Sorry for not updating earlier, but have been busy, and now very stressed, need to paint up all the models I need for the fanatic tournament here, in under two weeks from now, and with the new updates to the space marines codex I suspect I am going to be completely destroyed.

 

finally got my rhino and drake base coated, and when I could I started to paint the rhino, its not all done need to add green glowing marks and such and a few more highlights, but might leave it as is until after tournament.

 

 

so here is a few pictures of it so far, its the drakes turn next.

 

I have tried to make the trim more like the ones on the hellbrute and drake, so crocked with chips and such.

I am getting more followers on this thread, must be doing something right :)

 

at the moment I am working on the helldrake, its a cool model after a bit of converting, but.. paining the trim on the wings is really zapping my energy, slightly tedious and then knowing I plan on doing a few layers of highlights on every bit of the trim too..

 

I took a quick picture of the part im working on now, will do the biggest part first then smaller bits after and glue it together after its painted.

Thanks, and its nice to see that you like what I made, still wish I could do things that was nearly as impressive as some of you guys here on the forum, I seem mind-blowing models and conversions here even Blackadder's scratch built titans, I know the time and effort it would take, its just amazing.

Well all I can say is I'm honoured, if I ever decide to return to the 40k fold ill use some of your schemes as inspiration.

 

Plus it's not underplaying my skill I'm still learning and it's a steep learning curve for me after all this is my first actuall painting thing ever

another tiny update, been busy panting, the trim on the wings almost killed me, it takes ages and kept thinking of all the things I needed to get done in time

 

So been fiddling with the OSL on the back, takes long to dry so its almost done will need to fix the osl do the metal rivets and a few spikes then glue it tighter and good to go.

 

going to start building plagues again need to build 8 more and make a twin linked lascannon for hellbrute.

a quick update, been setting up my German feltherr transport case for the models, so I don't have to carry them around in a open maluerfiend box lid.

 

got the plague marines build and magnetized so I can change weapon options on them, just need basecoat and painting, also need to paint my belacor as demon prince

 

also Rhinicorn Bevy talked me into changes the helbrutes weapon from a reaper autocannon to a twin linked lascannon, so had to build that too.

Okay finally got the fanatic tournament done, failed horribly, been so busy trying to get everything painted for the fanatic but didn't even have time to finish. 

did on the other hand get 24 painting points out of the maximum of 30.

but might have helped if I played some I forgot a ton of rules ability's and so hadn't even play tested the list so I lost 4 of 5 matches and came 59 of the 76 competing in 40k

So now I have 6 months before next time so the stress is off, so will have time to look into some more conversions and might even try and take my scratch building to the titan level, will just have to see, will update as soon as I know more.
