Wow the sorcerer is looking brilliant! Loving how dynamic he's looking and adding instant mold while sculpting the tabard is a neat trick, will definitely help me in the future! Also as Traitor mentioned, those flames look amazing. The flames just look so natural and the variation in parts looks great too! Looking forward to seeing more!

Those flames really look amazing, best I've seen only using greenstuff!

thanks, it turned out quite well, just took a bit of time

i use the insta mould trick a few times, just be sure you get it all when removing it, paint wont stick if there is a thin sheen of instamould left on the model.

hopefully i get him done soon

wooow, thats amazing flames you got going on! i'll have to try to copy your technique when i start getting my thousand sons ready, you got the best flame result i've seen!

the sorceror is looking interesting too :biggrin.:

glad you like them, im looking forward to seeing your thusand sons

update on the sorcerer, he is prettymuch done, basing missing and not sure of what head to use, just fitted this so he wouldn't be headless.

so i really like to hear what you all think.

so there we have him, a sorcerer of the balefire legion decenting with his jump pack and burning a bloodangel inside out with the dread powers of the warp.

been project jumping quite a bit lately, but it's because im waiting for more silicone, did what i could then set it aside and started on next, then that halted because of silicone shortage.. and so on, but in a few days that should be sorted.

so the powers of chaos will be pleased

Burn him, burn him with balefire.

That is pretty damn cool.

Is that a magnet betwixt hand and balefire? When I got past the initial wow factor the practical part of my brain started screaming "transportation and snapping accidents" but it looks like you thought of that.

Damn, awesome work. I must say that I really don't like the chunky jump packs us heretics have, but you've done a good job balancing the top-heavy appearance by sculpting the thrusters burning and keeping him in the air.

As for his head, I've always been a fan of the CSM kit Tzeentch champion's helm:

Perhaps a new faceplate would be in order, utilizing your sculpting skills, but even as-is I think it would work. Any of the sorcerer heads from the exalted sorcs could work, too.

That is AWESOME! But it is true that the book looks a bit off... Also, if it isn't asking too much, I would like to see some photos of the burning face, it would be great to see how you connected the balefire with, well, the unfortunate guy. As for the head of the sorcerer, I would try the helmets from the exalted sorcerer or rubricae kits, with the TS stripes filled with greenstuff and maybe a sculpted faceplate... Actually anything you sculpt a faceplate on will look amazing.

This ist simply amazing. I love hin. Only gripe would bei the transition of Thrones hand and the souldrain. You could smoothen that a bit.

thanks the model isent glued toghter so the gap between the stream and the hand isent filled in yet, but ill get on it.

no magnet, its drilled and there is metal pin between them, im considering haveing the head on the bloodangel removable, but not sure yet.

Looks great, but something about that book seems off. It doesn't feel attached to the model at this point, maybe add some chains?

i agree, it would be better with some chains gotta fix that, now i just gotta figure out if i should use real chains or sculpt them.

im ither gonna try sculpting one or gonna make a modified ahriman helm, nut sure yet.

once i fixed the chain ill get some more pictures for you, its just pinned and likes to swing from side to side atm.

Brilliant posing Thamier :tu: great idea excellently 'executed'

very nice to hear thanks

Excelent job here! As other have said, the book needs a few chains and a different helmet from the new TS sourcerers kit would bring it up another level :D

ill fix the chains, but im not a bit fan of those helms, the TS sorcerers are just too birdie like.

Phenomenal work Thamier! You brought that concept art to life so well! I think some sort of hooded head could look nice for the sorcerer. Looking forward to seeing him completely finished!

a hooded head is actually a really cool idea, that is a solid option ill have to do a test

I love this, such a great idea and brilliantly executed. I agree about the book though, could you add some chains to it so it looks attached?

Nemac

yup gotta fix that book, guess i was too eager to show it, now after the comments i had a chance i look it over i agree, it needs to be attached.

Holy hell; great idea and fantastic execution!

thank you Pearson, and thank you sll for the kind words, ill see if i cant get him allfixed and ready for you, got silicone today, so tomorrow there will be casting, so sorcerer bastion flames and more!

Amazing idea and execution - love it! I love a great idea being realised - it's so satisfying to do too.

Another +1 on tweaking the book a bit. Edit: Maybe actually leaving it off will enhance the flow of the mini?

As for the head, I really like this one:

Wh40k-Thousand-Sons-Exalted-Sorcerers-He

It's weird enough to identify as something else than a standard Black Legion marine, but it doesn't scream Thousand Sons - plus the lack of horns will give a lot of freedom regarding the position of the head.

i dont think that ill remove the book , every sorcerer needs his spell book , and i like the details too give character.

but helm is still undetermined, i like the faceplate of that one, but hate the crest with that beak :/

could work with it though

A very cool conversion! As it happens, I kinda like the head you have on there right now -- it actually seems like a better fit for a Black Legion-ish Sorcerer than a Thousand Sons head.

Count me as another vote against the book, though: It's just too clunky and distracting. How about going for something smaller or switching to a collection of scrolls? I think that might work better, given the overall composition of the model.

the head isn't bad, but still gonna try different ones and see if i can get a nice fit, i added chains on the book now but not sure if i will remove it even if clunky.

Scrolls and tzeentchian odds and ends would indeed be better than the book. Or a smaller book.

i have looked at the scrolls and odds and ends i have in my bitbox and none relly fit him either, so indont know.

here is a small update, first cast not great but should get better results soon
