Yes, that new base is a much better start! And what else would you use but a Dreadnought trampled into the mud? Nothing says total bad-ass quite like this, don't you think?

Since I went a very similar route for my own Wargrinder model, here's a couple of ideas that might help:

As you see, you can use sand or chaffed cork to make parts of the Dread look half buried. If you have an old computer or something similar, the small cables connecting different parts (the ventilator, for example) make pretty cool cables for your destroyed dread as well: cut them apart and have them appear from the dread's broken chassis.

As Biohazard's bases above show, basically everything can become an element for basing: The important thing is to mix different sizes and textures. Check out the FTW basing tutorials here as well, as they might be really helpful!

Oh, you might want to hang on to that frag cannon arm, though: It makes for a pretty cool base for a reaper autocannon, if you ask me.

Anyway, great to see you're putting in a little extra effort to make this piece truly shine! And I'm glad that you're putting up with our nitpicking! ;)

Thanks for the tips, I've already begin to bury it with rubble and sand but I do like the idea for the cables, I'll see if I can get a hold of something, to late for the arm though I've already smashed it up whoops haha. Hopefully make some good progress on the base tonight. Hope you don't mind that I borrowed the idea krautscientist

I had started losing faith in the princenought already however now that I've slapped the arms on I'm getting excited about it again, still all just blu-taked on so all uneven and junk bit I think it's becoming promising
