Just WIP still, but you can see the sorta dark grey I'm going for.

Also, this guy wants to play:

Specifically, he wants to play with these guys, probably turn them into frogs, or turn them inside out.

Using a modified Legion list, to allow for Thunderwolves and fenrisian wolves.

This is mostly a for fun army, just to model and paint, with a friendly attitude. I know I don't have any anti-air, but that shouldn't be too much of a problem, again, funzone only.

That's what I have planned thus far, could be changed, nothing is quite set in stone yet.

Love it! That gray has a great "stormy" quality to it.

We need some heresy era wolves around here. There are only a few tiny, stillborn threads that I know of.

Keep up the good work!

Well, well well, we now come to the big reveal. Or one of them, at least. I have several more things in the pipeline, i.e., being shipped to me. Here's one I worked on last night.

Konrad Curze, the Dark Prince of the VII Legion:

Gods be damned, I worked on that wing for literally AN HOUR. No matter how much I filed, it would not come out right. I finally gave up, and it's not even with the other wing, simply because the way the arm is positioned. Oh well, still looks great.

Ah, can't wait to see our father in paint.

Also, have I mentioned I really like that librarian?

I like it too, considering I paid $30 for it. wallbash.gif

The Dark Prince will be getting a nice coat of paint soon, I just have to wait for the weather to cooperate. Here's hoping for nice weather Monday!

I like Curze, just one question though: Why a skull for his head?

The head that came with it is sooooooo small. I checked it even on a Cadian, and it was still a bit small. I figured that the skull was more appropriate, considering who he is, although I'd like to sculpt some hair, but my GS skills are woefully lacking.

Hair isn't super difficult to sculpt with the greenstuff. I got a fair bit of practice sculpting hair and fur since I play Beastmen in WHFB.

The best I can suggest is to get a good tutorial and trial and error the hell out of it. I can't find the exact article from the Herdstone I used the first time I tried, but I have gotten a lot of good use out of this tutorial since then. They break it down really well, so I think it'll do you some good.

BAM! This one is great for stringy, unkempt hair. Perfect for our gene sire!

Let me know how it goes!

Two updates in one night! A very important one though.

First, get some administrative settled: I'm going to post-pone the Wolves until Book 4 hits us, Prospero. Not a permanent shelving, just a temporary holding so I can finish what really matters to me right now: the Sons of Nostramo.

Secondly, I promised Kol some Night Lords in Mk3 armour, and I will not disappoint. I just need to wait until they get shipped in.

Thirdly, here's a Tactical Legionary, the first of many.

http://i559.photobucket.com/albums/ss32/Hellghast/DSCN1513_zps3986c953.jpg

Now, here's the Oath of Moment I will swear:

I, TheWarmaster, in honor of Flint13's great motivation, will dedicate and paint this first Tactical Legionary to the Dark King of Nostramo. Upon my first day off from work that is nice weather-wise, and the arrival of my Legion shoulder pads, I will prime him, along with what else I have assembled and will assemble until that point. I, TheWarmaster swear this oath, or bear the Sinner's Red until time of my Dark Father's choosing.

Photobucket is being...Well...silly at the moment. I have two new tactical guys to show you, but I cannot upload them...

I will edit this post once I can. If I can.

They, along with the Tactical dude from last night, just need ammo pouches and combat blades. And Legion shoulder pads. Which came in today.

Sweet. We look *good* in the newer armor marks. I like MKIII, but they seem a bit "heavy" for the Nightlords.

Looking forwards to seeing these guys catch paint!

Fething. Perfect. I love you Kol.

Brief little background and TO&E:

In the wake of the Thramas Crusade, several companies of the
VIII were severely damaged and depleted after conflicts with the I Legion. The
100th were amongst those. There was barely a warrior among the ranks that could
bear a complete suit of armour. Scavenged plates and hasty repairs are
extremely common for these Sons of Nostramo.

TO&E: 100th Company, VIII Legiones Astartes; Circa three
years after Isstvan V:

Company Command:

-Captain Marek Vanya

-5 Legiones Astartes Command

-Shebol Red Hands, Blademaster

-Librarian

I Platoon:

-First Claw Tactical Squad (20)

-Second Claw Tactical Squad (20)

-Third Claw Tactical Support Squad (10)

II Platoon:

-Fourth Claw Tactical Squad (20)

-Fifth Claw Tactical Squad (20)

-Sixth Claw Tactical Support Squad (10)

Terror Platoon:

-Terror Squad (10)

-Terror Squad (10)

-Terror Squad (10)

Permanently Attached:

-Night Raptor Squad (15)

-Night Raptor Squad (15)

-Cataphractii Terminator Squad (5)

Armour Pool:

-Sicaran

-5 Rhinos

-3 Predators

Not all of these will be represented with models, but maybe eventually.

EDIT: Yes, Flint, Mk3 is a bit heavy, but how else can I make Terror squads be awesome. whistlingW.gif

Wading through the sea of humanity, Shebol Bladeborn hacked apart bodies by the dozen.
Longsword flashing from left to right, gladius impaling torsos and slashing
throats. He was akin to a god of war from Ancient Terra, more than two metres
tall, in midnight power armour.

"Come at me, fools!" he cried, laughing. "You want to serve your False Emperor? Fine! Kill me! I dare you!"

They only response he got was a mixed bag of fear and anguish. Some stood their ground, firing lasrifles at him, doing nothing more than scorching his armour. Most cowered in fear, ducking into corners, behind cogitators, behind desks and tables.

An officer came forward, an energized sword in his hands. He tried to stab the blade into Shebol's torso. Shebol caught the human's blade with his longsword, parrying it up and away, and while he was off balance, Shebol rammed the gladius into the man's face.

Blood and bone fragments shot out, drenching Shebol's armour even more. It was times like this that he regretted having the armour of midnight. Blood did not show up on it whatsoever. And he always enjoyed blood. It was amongst his favorite decorations. Humans especially, were afraid of blood, as if the blood itself was the killer.

With the death of their officer, most of the Army troops began running. Where? Shebol didn't care. None of these were worthy of his blades. He was here for a different reason. But if he had an excuse to wet his blades, he'd take the opportunity.

Bounding down a side passage, blades held slack, he made his way deeper inside the facility. Or he tried to. Because oncoming to him was a being equal to his size and power. Another Astartes. Alone. Easy prey.

Or not. Shebol glanced at the tokens and markings on the warrior's armour, the tribal fetishes and pack devices etched into the storm grey warplate. A jarl, he recognized, the jarl. The very warrior he had been searching for. Hunting for.

"Come on, dog. Let's finish this!" he bellowed, bringing his blades up in salute.

"I will enjoy this murder-duel, sunless one. I will avenge the thread-cutting of my pack members. My saga will live to tell this tale, of slaying a son of a sunless aett," the jarl responded in kind, hefting his two-handed axe.

Shebol roared, and charged the jarl, longsword slashing out for a throat cut. The Wolf dodged the blade, and bashed away the return swing of the gladius with the haft of his axe.

The two warriors were fairly evenly matched, a master swordsman of the VIII Legion versus a jarl of a murder-make warpack of the vicious VI Legion. Ancient Terran steel with  power fields versus Fenrisian ironheart, masterfully folded a thousand times in on itself, with its own power field.

Trading blows back and forth in such a narrow corridor, neither was able to gain the upper hand. When the end finally came, it came suddenly and unexpectedly.

Shebol had attacked right with the longsword in his left hand, and the jarl had blocked that. With his right hand, he dropped the gladius, and gripped the haft of the axe. And pushed with all his might. The jarl staggered backwards, off balance, for just a beat of his twin hearts. But that was all the time he needed.

Shebol brought the longsword up, and cut the Wolf's hands off. Right first, then left. Both were still gripping the axe. Before the Wolf could even respond, Shebol brought the blade down, hacking the jarl's left leg off.

            The Wolf fell hard.

"Not so high and mighty now, are ye?" Shebol taunted.

The Wolf didn't respond, just sucked pained gasps of air through his gritted teeth. Shebol sheathed his longsword, and picked up his gladius. He would honour this warrior with death by the small sword, the one etched with Death's image on it.

"I will make this as painless as possible for you, but I will still skin your face. As a trophy, you see. It will still hurt like a son of a mother, but I assure you, it won't last long."

Shebol was about to begin his work, when the captain stormed in.

"Shebol Bladeborn," the captain rumbled, "as your commanding officer, slaying of the enemy jarl falls to me. I will allow you to claim his flesh as is your right as champion, but his life is mine, and mine alone."

Shebol was less than pleased. "But sir, I appreciate your right as commander, but I would argue this kill is mine. I alone broke the outer defenses. I alone slew the human forces here. I alone found the jarl. I alone fought the jarl. I incapacitated him. His life is mine. I will not allow you to claim this kill." He stood in front of the downed jarl, drawing his longsword again, and entering a defensive stance. He would not back down without a fight.

Captain Marek Vanya glared at his champion. "I will go through you, if I have to."

"You won't have to, the jarl is already dead." Shebol turned around, lightening fast, and threw his gladius towards the Wolf.

The blade entered the Wolf's forehead, making a small exit hole in the back of the skull.

Vanya roared in defiance, and drew his chainblade, Charnel. Activating his jump pack, he hurled himself towards Shebol. Shebol was prepared for this however, and leapt to the side of the hallway, flattening himself against the wall.

BROTHERS! yelled a psychic shockwave. STOP THIS MADNESS!

Vanya cursed and halted, yelling "Zhenk, not now you psyk freak. Shebol and I have some unfinished business to attend to. Like me carving him to pieces for the grave insult he just committed."

The psyker wouldn't relent. My captain, that will have to wait, we have bigger problems than that.

            Now Vanya was paying attention.

Contact from orbit. The Imperium is here.

Vanya cursed again, and issued orders he had hoped he would never issue:

"Back to the landing craft, we're abandoning this world. Let the Imperium find the corpses, let them find another world devoid of life, let them fear us again."

Before leaving the command centre, he had one last issue to clear up. He turned to Shebol and said "From this moment on, you are no longer known as Shebol Bladeborn. You are Shebol Red Hands. When we get back on ship, you will paint your gauntlets with the Sinner's Red. And when the time comes, you WILL bare your throat to my blade. I will slay you myself."

"Aye, lord," Shebol Red Hands responded, only half sarcastically.

-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

"Do I regret taking the captain's kill? By the Forgotten Gods, no! That has been my favourite kill to date. It was my kill, I led the attack, I broke the outer defenses, I reaped the human harvest outside of the command post. I tasted Astartes blood too. Then our pompous arsehole of a commander just waltzed right in and demanded that he slay the bugger, just like that. So what if he gave me the Sinner's Red? I don't care. We all die eventually anyway.”

-Shebol Red Hands

Also, there must be a better way of pasting a textwall in here that doesn't require me to go back and format it properly. Going back to every line, and making sure it's all aligned right is a pain.

Gah! You beat me to a "killing a space wolf" story! Seriously, it's all typed up and pretty on my laptop right now...

Eh, great (sadistic, evil, inventive) minds think alike and all that ^_^

As far as text editing, I have yet to find a way to get B&C's posting system to cooperate. pinch.gif
