The Bonds of Brotherhood (update: Moritat)

Still, if they're all as badass as the sergeant? Totally looking forward to that business.

I'm seriously struggling to find a use for my Nightraptors. I've used a few of the weapons for conversions, but they're so unique, it's hard to use their parts anywhere else.

It also doesn't help that they're mostly single piece. I'm not really liking the path FW is taking with some of these models. The Destroyers, the raptors, the word bearer dudes, and I'm not sure if the Kaks are single pose or not, but I like swapping torsos around and the like.

Still, I'm more likely to give Forge World my money than Games Workshop.  Have you seen the price for the new Dwarfs? And I thought the Witch Elves were horribly priced!

It isn't terribly hard to slice them apart at the waist and reposition, but I know exactly what you mean. As much as we're paying it wouldn't kill them to make the kits a little more interchangeable.

And yeah, I just got that email today. Unfortunately $50 for 10 guys isn't that bad considering what most GW kits are going for now.

I happened to be reading through Massacre again, specifically the Iron Hands section, as I don't really know much about them actually. I came across this little gem.

...Alongside this, it is widely believed that in the aftermath some Iron Hands units and, in some cases, entire Clans shunned the Medusan Council's assumed authority and went their own way, consumed by their own hatred and need for revenge. These fractured forces fought their own war and it is widely believed some delved into the use of dark and forbidden forces from humanity's ancient past to do so, although this has been strenuously denied since by the Iron Hands Clan Council.
What cannot be contested, however, is that other lone Iron Hands and small scattered groups cast off their Legion's livery entirely and either fought on alone or went renegade-Iron Hands no more...

Interesting...

You know, those night lord models caught a lot of flak for the "ballerina leg poses" they had-- well, you've certainly discredited that and used them in a good way; those raptors are just fantastic.  I feel bad for the poor marine who just took a raptor to the chest- ouch.

The statue is from the Lord of Rings Gondor terrain kit.

I quite like the ruins, so I have a couple of them.

And thank you, Chaplain, I certainly hated the poses at first, and I wanted to make them slightly less goofy. I think they work pretty well. They might not do so well on the tabletop, but that's fine, they probably won't make it there anyway.

I see piccies if that's any help?

I would consider adding another Besagew on the right armpit area.  I also have a few of those styled shoulder pads, but they are tough to get working well when you show so much of the arm due to the way they sit.  The Besagew helps to take the eye away from the uncovered armpit area and blend in the pad nicely, as per your left arm holding the pistol with the more jousting shield style besagew :)

Great dynamics and bases on your night lord jumpers above btw!

For whatever reason he puts me a little in mind of Perturabo. It would probably help us get an idea about your Primarch, to give us his name, and nature and a bit about his background. To be fair, without a little bit more about him its hard for me to comment on his model and he seems a little lacking. It's an interesting kit-bash, but without more, it doesn't scream Primarch at me.

Yeah, that arm bit is something I still need to work on, I'm just waiting until my LGS restocks greenstuff. I've also added a few things since I took those pictures, one of which I'm not sure on.

And I'm working on fluff now. I'm no great writer and what-not, but I'm hoping to whip something together.

Updated, with his cyber-familiar servoskull, and the Eagle.

I don't know about the eagle, aside from some touch-up, I'm not sure if it works on him.

And yes, I removed the second sword. That was a quick idea I had for fluff, but I have removed it from the fluff.

EDIT Again:

I think this is why you thought he reminded you of Perty:

In response to your posting the excerpt on IH renegades, keep in mind they slipped the leash to exact vengeance on traitors, Night lords included. So no team ups post istvaan sorry. We remember those that shot us in the back...

Anyways, great stuff so far. I love the raptor that is kicking the guardsman!

Wonderful stuff with the Raptors smile.png, I may.. borrow the guardsmen idea for my vanguard if that is alright with you mate?

Of course, I did steal it from someone else, afterall.

I had been hoping to get stuff done these next few nights, but I have a date with the Elder Scrolls Online beta!

Yeah, I'd never intended on having them join the VIII, but that did give me an idea for a new Kill-Team.

Well, with my work week over, maybe I can get some stuff done now. Most important is the priming of the Raptors, and finally finishing painting Marek Vanya.

So, Vanya is still awaiting completion, I'd managed to get a bit farther on him last night, but surprise work today wasn't cool. However, I have a three day weekend coming up, so I'll very likely get him finished then.

Also, I'm contemplating an additional project for here. In addition to finishing my VI when the Prospero book comes out, finishing up my VII when they get some lovin', the VIII of course, and the XI.

We'll see, it depends on my ability to paint white.

Got a new package in the mail today. I'll leave you with this:

"I'm required to kill, so I kill. I'm required to follow orders, so I follow orders. If I'm required to die, I'll die. I'm a warrior, through and through and I'll follow our Father anywhere, even to the gates of Hell itself."

Oh man, I hate snow, but I love the mailman.

Got my Shapeways order today! That means shoulder pads for the XI!

In the meantime, here's a little something that Ms. Flint might enjoy:

Oh, and I hate snow. I don't know if I mentioned that before.
