Even if it's annoying, I really like the idea of the 8 based system. Not only is it all kinds of fluffy, but it's even mentioned in the trilogy how Nostraman has evolved to become superfluous and "poetic."

Using an inconvenient number system seems like the next logical step ^_^

Imperium of man shall fall down under weight of it`s lies.

My name is Corvus Alis.

I joined Adeptus Administrantum Historical Revision Unit, because i wanted to know the truth. I wanted to discover old stories of brave ones that fight for just cause and Emperor, understand our universe and reasons behind what`s happening here. Explore world of acient scrolls which held verity of this world.

But I didn`t get what I wanted to.

They joined me to Deletion Team. They ordered me to burn many, many manuscripts. We held a task of Damnatio Memorae. I was ordered to destroy anything that might threat Emperor or his empire. We burned histories of hundreds mighty battles, dozens of brave mans and countless scrolls helding valubale information. All in name of that False Emperor.

Ones that serve him are blinded by his lies he made us change into a truth. I hated what I was forced to do. I hated myself for every little paper that burned from my hand.

Since I was born, my eyes, both white and irisis were black. I didn`t know why, my parents told me it was normal for ones of my kin, but I never understand it. Once, searching through library, I found information about Nostramo, and how eyes of people that lived there looked like. I secretly collected everything I could find about that planet, then all scrolls about Night Lords and their Primarch, Konrad Curze. I was fascinated in their history, I acknowleged world they tried to change in the midnight clad. I felt obliged to perserve that scrolls. It was legacy which I had to keep.

I couldn`t stay there any longer, captain started to suspect me. I run away from Terra, searching for ones that stays in midnight clad.

That`s why I`m here brothers. I want to preserve your history, your legacy.  What you have done shall be never forgotten.

Hello :3

So lil story behind Corvus. I joined b&c because of Nostraman runes. And things kinda escalated quickly :biggrin.:

Someone ( i guess as a joke) said I should join Murderers Call as a scribe.

So I took a challenge and here it is.

I know there are tons of plotholes, I didn`t have time to think about her more.

Also, I don`t wanna connect her to any company, I thought it would be better If she moved beetween different comapnies in order to write down all their histories so they shall not be forgotten. As @Flint13 suggested, she might have some record or information that is valuable enough to keep her alive and let her travel.

As a bouns, here`s fast colored sketch of her :smile.:

Sorry If I wrote anything wrong, I`m still newbie to whole Nightlords thing ( and warhammer generally ^^" )10403279_415264318647882_265260837429073

Damnit I want to play night lords now. Guess I figured out which heresy army I'm doing lol. I hope you people are happy. I'm sorry imperial fists but I take to the midnight clan.

So.... Do you guys take heresy people?

I play HH NL and have yet to be flayed somehow. Welcome aboard! *insert slips heresy train meme*

Dude, I still give Heinrich crap about starting out with 40k Night Lords.

"Oh, relic predators? I dunno anything about that... we just have normal predators with dark age tech...in squadrons... and Rites of War... and Sevatar... and a Primarch..."

Horus Heresy is where it's at. 40k is grim dark and all... but you can have my Talent for Murder and Terror Assault doctrine when you pry them from my cold, dead (but still impeccably manicured) talons.

The key part of this phrase is, "Starting out..."

;)

As my Warband enters its final 12 hours on eBay before it leaves me forever, I feel a bit of regret that I didn't get to make the Champion with the Nostroman Mancatcher.

Just wondering how many of you have made one (or more) ?

I'm currently trying my damnedest to make a combination of glaive with the blades at both ends using the Dark Elf Executioner swords. Almost got it done. Think I'll keep that for my Sevatar/Praetor conversion. Which I really ought to get around to doing. But I don't want to model him until I've written everything up to the point he's at and you know there's loads to write and I'm trying to get a job with GW and I need more resin and.....

Yeah. First world problems right there

Would be interested to see how that turns out.

I have a lot of Solar Auxilia models and I am thinking of having them as regiment closely tied to my VIII Legion Company. At the same time I don't want them to be human Night Lord clones. I imagine they would be hard bastards having to fight alongside the VIII, seeing them massacre other humans with glee and knowing if a battle turns for the bad, the Night Lords will save themselves with little thought of the mortals.

So I thought about painting them with their own unique scheme, but to use a regimental marking to tie them to my Night Lords. I was thinking of either doing a Lightening bolt, either in the imperial style or like a terror marking, or a claw like symbol, but from the side, like the sign of submission used by the pilot in Prince of Crows.

Any thoughts?

Funnily enough, I would pick the lightning bolts. Reason being is that the lightning bolt is a symbol that pays homage to both the Night Lords and the Emperor, which in turn would give them the air of Imperial mortals fighting alongside the VIIIth.
I was leaning towards that too for the same reason. It would allow me to field them alongside my VIII but also keep them a separate force. The claw symbol could be used as an honour mark, like the bloody hand the World Eaters give out.

I think you're onto something here

So.....question.....have any of you ever added LED's to any of your models? Specifically vehicles in this case, and specifically a Fire Raptor for anyone wondering.

Not all that long ago a fully decked out Storm Eagle slipped through my grasp by a very small margin on ebay and since then I've become really fascinated with adding some lighting to my models. If any of you have some experience I'd be happy to listen!

So I've always wanted a night lords army, but I don't think I'll get into the heretical side. That's why I'm planning to repaint and convert my GK into Dornian heresy night lords. Now, personally I really like the shade of midnight clad that forgeworld paints, particularly for their showcase of Sevatar.

Here is the example.

Does anyone know the recipe for that shade of blue? I'd be well chuffed :)

Now that is amazing. As for other tips, what do you guys reckon? I know there's a lot of difference in the iconography but part of me hopes I can just free hand some NL symbols and paint some helmets as skulls/terror markings. What do you guys reckon?

Dark Eldar bits are great to add some character. The FW heads are great if you don't feel like free handing skulls all the time

We're working on an actual script, so you don't have to do random NL symbols. ;)

As for terror markings, I've found that actually studying pictures of skulls and bat wings helps a lot with making them not look like my 6 y/o nephew drew them, as pretty much all of us do when we try to draw one with just memory alone as a reference.

Plus, Secret weapon has two awesome kits to put actual trophies on, like the sack o' skulls and the sack 'o corpses. For flayed skin you could use the tutorial I made, which is referenced in the first post of this thread.

^Oh yeah I meant freehanding skulls on flat surfaces^. Painting terror marking skulls on helmets is super easy: use bone: paint a half dome above the eyes, and follow lower edge of the eyes, then use the edge of the breather mask as 'teeth'. Done. :tu:
