I hadn't realised actually how large your IF's have become. That is one phenomenal army dude, I hope to see more of them in the future . The KDK are also very cool but Captain 8 Legs takes the trophy for me, such a cool conversion! Thank you for fulfilling my wish, I would have liked it but I used all my likes for the day in Kalrath's Ultramarine thread.

Edit: amended the likes situation

Holly hel!

You're a certified hobby titan, dude! Like Nemac, I hand't realised how large your Imperial Fists army was... you've got quantity and quality.

I'll definitely have to think of another name for one of the Fists :tu:

Played a game against Augustus' KDK today. Beside utterly destroying my poor dark mechanicum(eldar) he also showed me his massive hobby collection. And honestly, these are probably the nicest armies I've seen in the flesh.
Had a ton of fun while getting tabled though, although I hope to cause more than 4 wounds over 2 games with my 12 different D weapons next time.

Thanks, guys!

Alright, second half of first assault squad finished!

It's not going fast enough. The tournament's in less than three weeks and I still need to paint ten assault marines and build and paint ten devastators! :ohmy.: better hurry up.

Anyway, here's pictures!

VII Assault Squad

Veteran sergeant - Faramund Brandt Venomlust

An aloof Astartes at the best of times, Sergeant Brandt commands his squad with an iron fist, brandished in faith. An devout follower of the Lectitio Divinatus, he demands nothing but the utmost dedication to the Emperor and the fiercest zeal in battle. Both captain Landa and chaplain Kaprelian keep a sceptic eye on his behaviour, but so far neither his words nor his actions show any deviation of the codex or the Imperial Creed.

Weapon Specialist (Flamer) - Totis Adors -  Knight of the Raven

Brother Adors is as devout as he is aggressive, seeing the meticulous destruction of the enemies of mankind with his flamer as the manifestation the fire of faith that burns in his heart. Adors has a Fleur de Lis symbol tattooed on his left cheek, a commemoration to a joint action with the fledgling Adepta Sororitas.   http://i35.photobucket.com/albums/d185/mkruijff/Imperial%20Fists/WP_20170228_025_zpszu0lwzyj.jpg

Battle Brother - Inigo Vetinari -  DarthPenguin

A grizled veteran, brother Vetinari's callsign is his given name of 'Inigo', a rare occurrence only seen in another VII Squad Astartes, brother Grawert. The apogryph story of his recruitment at the young age of 6 standard years, is reportedly the origin of this. It is whispered that his mother could be heard screaming his name over the fields at night by the recruiting Chaplain as he rounded up his abductees into the Thunderhawk Lander.

http://i35.photobucket.com/albums/d185/mkruijff/Imperial%20Fists/WP_20170228_028_zpsiwi3chsa.jpg

Battle Brother - Stavridis Zepivir - lionofjudah

Brother Zepifir is young and brazen, and has sworn an oath to let go of his chainsword weapon when and only when he has slain a score of Traitors. To this hand, he has symbolically chained his weapon to his wrist, an act that has earned him the respect of his brother astartes of VII squad. He is regularly seen visiting and praying at the holy reliquaries of the chapter's Reclusiam.

http://i35.photobucket.com/albums/d185/mkruijff/Imperial%20Fists/WP_20170228_022_zpsfrls3x9u.jpg

Battle Brother - Adeal Grawert - The Traitor

A brutal assault marine, Brother Grawert's onomatopoeic family name is also his callsign "Grawr", given to him after his brothers of VII squad heard him growling 'grawrrr' over the comms chanel whilst in the midst of a unit of cultists. The growls quickly became roars, and Brother Grawert did not stop until nothing was left of the cultist but a pile dismembered of dismembered limbs and bodies in a pool of viscera and gore. After the battle, Brother Grawert was approached by Vexilarius Zol'Tara, who slapped him on the pauldron and said something to the effect of "You own your name, don+t you, Grawr!", after which the company comm line erupted in laughter. Hope you like! C&C welcome!

Replies!
@ Nemac Vradon: Yeah, it's gotten pretty big. It's weird, because I really only paint units I intent to use, plus dreadnoughts. My Night Lords are a larger collection, but I never use 80% of them - I'm even =considering selling those! No worries about the likes, I'm much ahppier with your continued commenting here.

@ kizzdougs: Ha! You're most welcome to one - XIV Assault Squad has a flamer position and some regular brothers open - and only XII devastator squad's officers are named, all others are free :smile.: Check here for the list.

@ Grizzly_bear: What kind of work?

@ Maarten: duuuuuude, Saturday's were awesome games. I would love to see that army painted up. I'm going to do a shout out comment specifically once I find your thread again.

@ hushrong: You're real nice! :tongue.:

@ Black_out: Cheers, buddy! And thanks for noticing. I'm a firm believer in the philosophy that each and every marine in your army can be unique by  using the right bits and getting the pose just right.

@ Eldrick Shadowblade: You got it! Pyrese Tor stands in yellow clad.

@ Thousand Eyes: Glad to it! :smile.:

Great work as usual, I'm not sure about the blue sphere sat the back of the jump pack, but everything else is spot on!

I don't know if it is physically possible for a human to paint any faster at that quality than what you're doing right now, but you can surely try (be careful though, you might not realise what day is it and let the tournament pass without knowing when aproaching relativistic speeds) :tongue.:.

Edit: also noticed that you used the cool sword with the skulls on the model I named ;)! Great use of the name by the way, hadn't thought about it that way haha!

Edited by The Traitor

These are sweet! Great builds and paint jobs on those marines.

It also looks cool but I think that handsome Templar robe and a jump pack would be dangerous. Then again a super human in armor with rockets on his back was dangerous enough to begin with.

Thanks, guys!

Here's WIP pictures of the second half of the second assault squad I'll be painting. I spent today building the devastator squad. When I get pictures, I'll post them here too.

Incidentally, most of these guys aren't named yet. Anyone is most welcome to name one. :smile.:

Vexillarius - Scaffir Smidte - Scion of Ferrus (with fluff)

Thanks for looking, and for your comments. They keep me going more than likes - and I really need to keep going!

@ The Traitor: The blue spot is the power coil on the back - at least I interpreted that bit as a power coil. Nono, the tournament is the 26th - not the 20th. Which gives me a little leeway, luckily. And I'm happy you liked the fluff of your mii. :biggrin.:

@ hushrong: Templar robes are dangerous, no matter if you're wearing a jump pack or not - a dangerous fashion statement, that is. Robe wearing power armoured marines are ridiculous, I agree. But you know, rool of cool.

@ Thousand Sons: Hellz no! Quality before everything else. I just use the deadline as a way to motivate me. Who hasn't turned in their paper at 11:59 PM before the due date? It'll require extra planning and dedication, no doubt, ut it's certainly possible given that I need about 18 hours to paint five marines.

Thanks, guys!

Mechanist, above, asked about the sort of names I´m aiming for, so I thought I´d comment on that in general:

The Imperial Fists are quite obviously based on Prussian culture, and as such I´m shooting for mostly Prussian-Germanic sounding names. That doesn´t mean that they all have to be that way - far from it: The Imperial Fists recruit from many worlds, and so their names should reflect that. It´s why there´s a sergeant Zol´Tara and a Techmarine called Torias Khation in the army. I actually try to stay away from purely modern sounding Germanic names. So if you like to name a dude in my army (welcome to it - to me it's very inspiring and motivational, and I am very grateful to the more than 60 frater who have done so up to now) please think about what 30 millennia (my Fists are situated in 32K, the time of the The Beast Arises novel series) will do to given and family names. 38,000 years of mispronounciations, misspellings, evolving consonants and vowel shifts will turn a name like Janus Brand into Dumes Blin, and Volkert Schmidt into Vocki Spud.

I keep a list of all the miniatures, their names, the frater who named them and links to their claims here, if you're interested in former named or future to-be-named miniatures. :smile.:

@ Black_out: Serje Pantimion is a really cool name - very 40K. :biggrin.: Thanks, buddy!

@ MikhalLeNoir: Go for it! Just a bit of extra attention to pose goes a long way!

@ Venomlust: Glad you like it, mate! Thanks again or naming one. If you want, there are still nameless devastators.

@ Kierdale: CHeers, buddy! Care to name an assault marine or devastator?

@ hushrong: Cool! Thanks for that name! I have 40K-ified it a little, if you don't mind. :smile.:

@ Mechanist: Above is a comment that answers your question, but which is also directed at anyone naming my marines. :smile.:

Another five assault marines finished! Meet the first half of XIV Assault Squad

http://i35.photobucket.com/albums/d185/mkruijff/Imperial%20Fists/WP_20170302_003_zpst15bmclf.jpg

http://i35.photobucket.com/albums/d185/mkruijff/Imperial%20Fists/WP_20170302_004_zpsa8i0emht.jpg

Veteran sergeant (Eviscarator) - Targus Vor Race Bannon

Sergeant Vor has a reputation of being an exceptionally harsh officer, who leads through fear and brute force. He leads his squad with an iron fist, demanding the utter limits of perfection and allowing no dissent from the codex whatsoever. He has been known to force his subordinates into the pain glove and to collectively beat those who do not meet his expectations.

http://i35.photobucket.com/albums/d185/mkruijff/Imperial%20Fists/WP_20170302_008_zpststrisln.jpg

Battle Brother - Gregaras "Ironheart" Basqess Vazzy

A resolute proponent of the codex astartes, brother Basqess has been dubbed ´Ironheart´ by his fellow squad members, for his utter emotionlessness in executing sergeant Vor´s orders to the letter. Some say his psycho indoctrination process got the better of him. Still, his combat record is flawless.

http://i35.photobucket.com/albums/d185/mkruijff/Imperial%20Fists/WP_20170302_005_zpsxdburt6h.jpg

Weapon Specialist (Flamer) - Pyrese Tor Eldrick Shadowblade

Brother Tor delights in his duty as a weapon specialist, often being the first in suggesting to breach an enemy encampment by whittling down the occupants with a flamer, and then volunteering for the execution of his plans. He has become so skilled with his favourite weapon that he is able to spout his flames over walls.

http://i35.photobucket.com/albums/d185/mkruijff/Imperial%20Fists/WP_20170302_014_zpssawgfluu.jpg

Battle Brother - Lyran Roth - Dosjetka

An agile thief when he was still human, brother Roth is the prankster and self-appointed morale officer of XIV squad, something he is often derided and even punished for by Sergeant Vor. Still, he has earned the respect of all his squad-mates for his skill with the jump pack; once disabling a renegade Valkyrie assault carrier by flying up to it in mid-flight, and attaching a melta charge to its engines.

http://i35.photobucket.com/albums/d185/mkruijff/Imperial%20Fists/WP_20170302_017_zpshmwo78st.jpg

Battle Brother - Arios Taal -  Pearson73

Brother Taal has earned a reputation of being an emotionless slaughterer, who favours hand to hand combat over any other kind of combat. He has passed the opportunity to lead his own squad on more than one occasion, preferring to remain amongst his brothers and closest to the actual fighting.

Hope you like! Comment and feedback most welcome!

@ Lord Thørn: Glad you like him! Cheers, buddy!

@ Eldrick Shadowblade: Thanks. I'll try to do more of them in the future.
