I am astounded by the work that you do. It is truly inspiring. I've decided that if and when funds allow i'm going to be doing a NL army instead of the piece meal warband that i have done so far. Also, how does one just happen to have all the parts left over to make another dreadnaught?

Hi everyone, it's been a while. Live, work and awesome weather has distracted me from our goal: Chaos Victory!!!

I'll post some updates on a couple of projects I'm working on, especially for teh ETLiii, over the enxt couple of days.

I've finally finished the entire build of the warhound. The magnets have arrived and have been integrated in all four weapon sysems, so my warhound is fully customizable. I've also resized the base so it is smaller than before - easier to game with.

Here's the finished beast!

Also, I've fully painted and assembled the insides of the crew compartment and cockpit.

Before I showed you some test cards of the colour scheme I'll be using, but there's been some new ideas which I'd like to share too.

http://i35.photobucket.com/albums/d185/mkruijff/Night%20Lords%20WIP/WP_20140518_0081_zps040cc643.jpg

As you see, I didn't use enough masking tape, but the idea is stll threre. The end result will probably just a faded blue titan, with red and bone stripes. The yellow is noce, but contrasts too little with the gold. Let me know what you guys think.

Basetacular! The warhound is looking awesome too, and I'll forever be forced to put down my brushes after you paint it :tongue.: just going by the epic paint jobs of all your other models, I can see this being stunning

I'm sooo enjoying this project. Taking it slow though, I have a lot of other units in my vow (planning on more vows) and I'm no way rushing this titan. It's cost me a lot of work earning this baby (I built and painted two Lucius pattern Imperial warhounds in exchange for this one).

Holy crap man. The amount of detail you've put into that base is more than most folks put into an infantry model. That looks scary good.

Thanks Flint! There's more to come!

WoW! That needs a paint job worthy of the model work!

Cheers!

now THATS a great base

Now That's a short but powerful compliment! Thanks mate! :wink.:

Awesome work on the base, maybe just for giggles you could add a terrified Scout hiding behind that wall with the terminal on after witnessing his revered brother get stomped into the pavement. :biggrin.:

Cheers! I like the idea but I do not have a spare scout. I might plant a cowering Dark Angel on it though! Named Tanhausen

Thanks man! I'm glad you find inspiration from my work. It's the main reason I'm sharing: contributing to this awesome community makes everyone better painters, builders and overall more inspired hubbyists.  The spare dreadnought parts are explained by a desastrous combination of relatively low rent, a rising career, a hole in my pocket and the damnably awesome bitsandkits website.

Very nice work. Not bad at all for cork board and spare bitz.

Lolz. Thanks man.

Remind me not to start working for a Traitor Titan Legion if that's the normal crew health standard and living quarters   The final result will look mighty wicked and stunning. The original idea of faded blue/red/bone should be the most striking combination though, those test cards look good but I don't think they can top the other scheme

At least you have a choice! The Princeps carries my name, according to b'Raas himself :P

Titan looks good so far, and the colours look nice together, but I much prefer the blue and the yellow together as the red links the titan too closely to the NL's, in my opinion. Ultimately, it's your titan, so your opinion rules over everyone else's, so you pick your favourite :)

Aaaaaand another update on the titan. There's only two Chaosified  weapons available for the Chaos Titan: the plasma blastgun and the vulcan megabolter. There's only Imperial versions of the Vulcano Cannon and the Double Barreled Turbo Laser Destroyer. So I chaosified these last two myself with a dremel tool and some green stuff.

I totally agree man. I'm still not sure about it, so your comments are appreciated. Cheers!

Absolutely the princeps has your name. I'm actaully thinking of writing some fluff for Princeps Arenis....
Also thanks about the colour comments. Much appreciated feedback!

Nice job on chaosifying the titan weapons, they look really good. The titan interior looks good, if a little clean for my taste.

Want me to toothbrush some bloodsplatter in there?

Problem is, there are SOOOOOO many other FW goodies to buy, its hard to splash on a big one, when you can get multiple small things.

At least thats my current issue.

Great job of bringing life to those loyalist weapons, I was wondering if I would have to when I end up getting my own titan (oddly same weapon pair, I already have the flamer...) but now that you've done it, I'll have to. :p

Wow...so many things to say:

1.- One of the things I most like about BnC is the "gentelman's club" flair it has...and being able to mock and pick with respect is prime :) You Sir, have earned an "enemy" :P

2.- You painting skills are brutal! Really like how your Titan is coming out :)

3.- I'll never acknowledge this in public, but if I had to do Chaos, I'd be hard pressed between Deathguard and Night Haunters...and now you've set the stantard (IMO of course) for the NH!

4.- I'm honored you consider making "me" part of such a project. I am a proud first company freak and here is my offer:

If you send me your address, I will send you a full terminator :)

Just let me know how would you like him kitted and I'll do my best. And if you want him assembled, primed, painted...let me know the state you want him in :)

1. Tanhausen, I'm honoured you consider me an enemy, and I will hate you with the respect and love you Dark Angel upstarts deserve. :wink.:

2. Thank you very much, Sir!

3. Don't mistake the Night LORDS legion with the soubriquet of its weak-spined primarch the Night HAUNTER. I will forgive you. I hope this forgiveness stance from my side makes you uncomfortable, you 'unforgiven' frenemy.

4. I looooove this idea.

If you, TanHausen send me a loyalist terminator with a standard outfit (power fist and stormbolter) unprimed and unassembled (legs are not necessary as I still have a pair of DA terminator legs lying around),

I vow that I will construct him into a brutal casualty on the base,

on this location.

http://i35.photobucket.com/albums/d185/mkruijff/Night%20Lords%20WIP/WP_20140520_003_zps138859e2.jpg

Near the gutter seems a good place for him

And because of the awesomeness of your idea, I will make the following penance vow:

I, Augustus b'Raass, herewith make an ETL III penance vow that if:

  1. Chaos does NOT win the ETL III competition; AND
  2. TanHausen has send me a terminator to be used as a casualty on my titan base,

that I will construct and paint a power armoured casualty from my own company and send it to TanHausen to be used on one of his walker bases. TanHausen has the right to give me leading dimensions concerning the surface this casualty shall lay on, as well as on the extent of the damage the Night Lord marine has suffered. I will write a back-story for this victim, and consult TanHausen about possible tie-ins with his fluff. I swear this by my pride and that of my brothers.

There. Now, on to further replies:

It wouldn't be Chaos without liberal splashings of blood!

Looking forward to seeing what you come up with, fluff-wise :biggrin.:

Ok, cool. I'll do that.

I want a Titan

You're making it look so good :smile.:

Yuo should get one. It's such a joy to construct and paint!

Sure. But get all the other weapons too because they're soo awesome!

What can I say but awesome stuff raass! The interior is looking top notch as is the chaosifying (is that a word?) Of the weapons!

The base is sweet mate..maybe a terminator would look good there haha

How long have you got left to finish this bugger then?

Great great work!

OK guys and gals, this will be my last update on the build of the titan. I'm waiting for the last magnet to dry, so painting of the outside will begin tomorrow!

The last thing I did to the finished build was add skulls, trophies and chains, as promised!!

And the final magnet holding the right foot to the base

http://i35.photobucket.com/albums/d185/mkruijff/Night%20Lords%20WIP/WP_20140520_022_zps2a1e305b.jpg

The magnetic bond of the right foot will hold about 4,8 kg, but the force of the lever created by the base will probably mean I'll have to make a small magnetized fit between the left foot and the sarcophagus of the dreadnought, but I haven't figured out how to do that yet. I'll save the base for last, because I'll be waiting on TanHausen's terminator to finish it.

Hope you enjoy! Feedback adn C&C always welcome.

Titans coming along nicely. Interior looks great. Glory to chaos.

Meh Chaos... Night Lords only think about themselves. But seeing as this Titan is not actually part of the Night lords: ALL HAIL CHAOS!!! Tomorrow the outer painting begins!

Great great work!

Of course that's a word! :wink.:  Thanks man, I couldn't ask for better support from you and the others! It keeps me going! In theory I have until August 1st to finish it. But there's also 14 cultists, 5 termies, 5 raptors and a Contemptor left in my first vow. And I plan on doing another vow after that. With my painting speed though this baby will probably only take me ten days or so... It all depends if I'm motivated enough. I will not paint when I'm not motivated, because I'll do a sub-par job. The beastmen cultists are proof of that.

After finally reading through your entire blog, I have to say that this is the one of the most awesome and most amazing armies I have ever seen. I love all the conversion and details that are on all of your models and it has inspired me to to do better on my Blood Guardians and for the Warp Talons that are sitting on my desk. And, with this thread, that I will no longer be painting up the Warp Talons as Sons of Malice, but as Night Lords, with the champion being dedicated to you for all the hard work you have put into your models and for inspiring me to do better on my own miniatures. Keep up the good work!
