Psychopomps (photos before farewell!)

Thanks, Servant of Dante, should you ever heed the call of Chaos, you know where to find us ;)

And I wish I could get my hands on one of those old guitar-wielders!

Who's a pretty boy then?

Work progresses on my 'Typhus'.

The baby-blue side will be trimmed in green (as the pink side was with purple).

I'm particularly pleased with how the cloak's colour has come out.

med_gallery_63428_9407_192941.jpeg

Now, do I risk freehanding some pattern on it?

Yes. For that is how we push ourselves!

How do you think I should paint the fur at the top of the cloak?

My mind immediately went to gold for the fur, but that's because I am a true servant of the Emperor, who will never fall to the level of heretical traitor scum like you! (if only so that I can say "Emperor's Bulging Biceps!")

Oh, and it looks awesome, as always.

There WHERE a couple of them on eBay some months back, the guitar wielding noise marines. I considered buying them, but thankfully I forgot, and maintained my purity :tongue.:. Am I laying it on a little too thick? Maybe. Sorry.

But really, I'd have to sell my sisters if I owned your army. So much heresy.

If I can collect CSM so can you Dante  It's fun to play the bad guys and ham it up too :laugh.:

Your colours are coming together on the lord really well, he'll make for a fine centre piece on the table! I'm working on my ETL vow this weekend but perhaps I might accidentally have to paint some more Chaos myself after this...:tongue.:

Well, I COULD, but I enjoy owning purely Imperial armies. And it's not like I haven't borrowed my friend's Chaos from time to time . . .

And it's not like I could afford it anyway. Sisters eat a disproportionately large hole in my wallet. There's probably a bad joke somewhere in there, but by the Emperor I'm not going to go looking for it.

I'll just keep commenting in the Chaos forum and bothering the natives.

Your Typhus is coming along nicely Kier, in particular the colours. Looking forward to the finished result.

Where is the head from?

And what sort of freehand are you thinking for the cloak?

In the Noise Marine sets one has three different heads. One is a helmed head which I used for my blastmaster-carrying noise marines. One has a grill-mouth and pipes going into his eyesockets: this is my least favourite, but I like the grill/vent. And there's the masked head which I'm using here...but the mouth area has -I'm not sure what it's supposed to be...needles?- so I took the grill mouthpiece from the other head and carefully stuck it on the masked head. Voila. :)

As for the freehand, I was initially just thinking about the Slaaneshi icon, perhaps with some swirling bits about it...but then I had an idea. You'll see it when it's done...

Leopard print

or zebra stripes.

Leopard I might do as I enjoyed doing it on his bike's seat. I don't think I could do zebra well enough. Not on such a heavily textured area. I'm not all that confident leopard will come out alright. Will try though.

I certainly won't be doing it gold! #haughty sniff# Faaaaar too tacky for a Lord of Slaanesh

;)

Servant of Dante, I see you submitted a story to the current Inspiration Friday...

The first step.

Hah! Tacky is Slaanesh's middle name (among other things that aren't board appropriate)! That's part of what I love about your marines! They ARE really tacky, but in a good way.

And remember, gold is the best color. So teaches our Emperor.

You know, the story came out of my Seraphim Superior dying to her own plasma pistol twice in a row. I blamed Tzeetnch, and eventually that evolved into the Whisper in the Wind.

To counterbalance that, I'm currently 4000+ words into a story about a battle sister kicking the but of a Lord of Tzeentch.

The weapon platform looks very good in those colours, makes me wonder if I should get some too  Keep up the good work Kier, we should be due an army shot soon...

The rapier is a very nice model. I've got the crew left over as they're in mk.2 armour IIRC and it wouldn't do for two Havocs to wear such fine, ancient.

Anyway, I may end up getting more :tu:

And yes, after the ETL ends I'll do an army shot.

I really must get those three rhinos, the raptors and dreadclaw done too though...

$80 for fourteen.

Not my auction, for clarity.

Edit: Exactly right now that I look closely!

Behold!

I'm on mobile so that will have to do. This is a cleaner image, and with leopard print ARMOUR no less

I give you lord Sophusar the Facinorious, the Doom of Carth-Lar, the Piper of Madness.

med_gallery_63428_9407_36196.jpgmed_gallery_63428_9407_258986.jpgmed_gallery_63428_9407_174467.jpgmed_gallery_63428_9407_342586.jpgmed_gallery_63428_9407_35157.jpgmed_gallery_63428_9407_338511.jpg

And some close-ups...

However that Harlequin died, he died weeping bloody tears.

med_gallery_63428_9407_178129.jpg

Not that this one faired much better...

med_gallery_63428_9407_238002.jpg

The pink marble of the Falx Horrificus

med_gallery_63428_9407_167227.jpg

Not too much blood since, hitting someone with a huge chunk of albeit slightly sharpened stone, its more bludgeoning than anything.

The Templar helm and chain of severed ears.

med_gallery_63428_9407_48125.jpg

And...

The cloak.

med_gallery_63428_9407_139753.jpg

Now to finish the rapier and crew...

Thank you, WarriorFish, Teetengee.

I'm very happy with the cloak, even if the folds make the Daemonette look more like Blanka (particularly in photos)! :D

The chain is simply fine jewellery chain from a craft store (cheap, too). I draped it around the head of the axe, gluing it with superglue at a few spots, likewise where it touches the haft or his hand on the way down. To keep the bit with the hanging mask rigid I ran some superglue down the chain, and blew on it so it didn't clog/fill any of the links. It's very brittle though.
