I definitely chose to limit the use of red in this army if that is what you are referring to, it just seems too "cartoony" for this particular army's purpose. Armond Posted July 28, 2014 Author Share Posted July 28, 2014 Land Raider Ok, straight off, I am not into all the crazy spikes and anything else that gives crazy amounts of flash. I like a bit of subtlety, a clean look, and maybe if the model warrants, some body parts here and there. ANyway, here you go: The heads to the left and right of the assault ramp are mounted on some scythes I found that mounted rather well to the Land Raider. That Imperial Eagle has been cleaved in several places as a form of desecration. Since this is in the midst of the Heresy, there isn't exactly tons of time to go all artistic with a tread and decorate anti-Emperor stuff. I just figured I should finish building the darn thing! Hopefully he takes something down with him! Flint, glad you like, I was staring at it late afternoon trying to decide how I was going to get along painting it, keeping the use of black in mind and the minimal use of red. I think I will just wing it, just going to go with what feels right. Armond Posted August 10, 2014 Author Share Posted August 10, 2014 Some work on my Great Scouring Black Consuls, note these are not 100% done, just on their way. Sternguard member, Combi-melta... Now he just needs some decorations. Heavy Bolter member of my Devastator Squad, he needs a few add-ons, otherwise I am happy with him! Librarian, took the Dark Vengeance one and did some cutting and whatnot. Switched some thing around on him and added a few things. Annnd, the Praetor/Chapter Master with Iron Halo added I need this army to be able to be played using both the HH books and the modern 40k books. So you may see a single large unit of 20 tacticals, which will be broken down into two of ten when I play 40k with it. This will not be a fast moving project. Keep it up! :) If I were to critique anything it would be the highlights on some places, I do know it was ETL so I would not have done better, but that's what I can complain on. I purposely left some things undone, because I hadn't decided on how they would be, but for meeting a painting standard I was happy. If you notice, some of the Sternguard are from a while back when I was thinking of making them Star Phantoms. But I will hold off on them for now, and move towards Black Consuls, just so I can have an opposing force in a semi-close timezone lol Devastators, missing a backpack, waiting for it to arrive Melta Tactical Squad(Combi-melta and meltagun), don't worry, I will work on 5 more guys to fill them out. Plasma Squad(Combi-Plasma and plasmagun), again, 5 more to go... annnnnd, Sternguard... 2 more to go to m ake my unit 9 strong, will have a total of 5 combi-meltas in there.
