WHOOMP THERE IT IS! Seriously Armond, you've made a great mini'. I agree, I think he has just the right amount of extra detail without looking over wrought. Awesome job buddy! Can't wait to see him all finished. But I dunno, the Marneus Calgar model is pretty, but kind of in a wierd overly decorated way I feel like. The Astares of the Horus Heresy are far more utilitarian soldiers (in many cases) than their Emperor revering warrior-monk counterparts in the grim dark future. I plan on doing a bit more work, then I need to build up the courage to primer this monster and paint him up, still have to debate in my head the colors to be used outside of the black, white, and gold for Black Consuls. I like his stance, too... it's kind of like he's daring his enemies to take their shots, because he'll not only just take whatever punishment they think they can give, but shrug it off and then beat their faces in. Armond Posted August 21, 2014 Author Share Posted August 21, 2014 Started messing with a Dreadnought Chassis and modifying it to be an Ironclad(I think he was from the AoBR set). Anyway, what do you think of the chainfist? Plenty more to go, like oath papers and putty details. Obviously he is pretty blank overall. If you look at the dreadnought on the left you will see a pair of lights mounted at the base of the Sarcophagus. They came from the Ravenwing upgrade kit. Unfortunately my putty is useless, there are a few mixed spots in it that somehow got mixed a while back(I am at the end of it where the two components are meeting) and it doesn't allow me to roll it out uniformly or anything. So I have to wait on any putty work until I can purchase another roll of it. Anyway, here ya go. Ironclad Dreadnought w/Assault Launchers, Searchlight, Smoke, Chainfist w/Meltagun and DCCW w/flamer. His intent is to eventually be paired with a drop pod and maybe another Ironclad to accompany him in a different drop pod. I have an honor guard to assemble and 10 more basic troops(to fill the two tact squads). I also need to work out another Sternguard(probably a Sgt) and also 3 more guys(including a Sgt, for my Devastator Squad). Then I need to work on figuring exactly how many drop pods I need and obtaining some vehicles as well(Whirlwind, Rhino, some AA stuff, etc). But thanks!
