Well wow, glad you all are interested and have some great ideas throwing at me!  I did another thing or two on him, maybe his helm will be a bit more fitting?  Helmetless he certainly looked like a bad mutha huh?

Trying to decide what else to throw on the rope for ornamentation.  Or I may rip the rope off all together and do a double-looped version with no honors/accessories hanging from it.

Helmet now has a laurel...

Thoughts!?  Also again, thanks everyone for commenting and throwing out some ideas for me!

While the armour itself is getting better and better (and I love the way his fists have developed), I agree with you that the bareheaded version had a certain "je ne sais quois" that is now lacking, due to the "facelessness" of the helmet. Any chance of a mockup with the bare head you used before?

I like the rope on his shoulder pad, although I think any trinkets dangling from it would have to be a fair bit smaller -- do you have some of the bitz from the Sternguard kit? Because the small decorations and trinkets dangling from some of the Bolters, ammunition pouches etc. would be pretty much perfect for the job!

I do have a ton of bits from several kits, and I will have to scour thru to find some smaller ones, but it is doable.  I think I am going to do that rope over again and double loop it.

Here is with the helmetless head, I still have it around as a just in case.

I am really considering just going with the helm.  I would have to find another MkII helm if I was going to maglock it to my guy, because I had to cut sections of the helmet off to make it fit in that little hole.  I will see if I can come up with a few more updates and mods to him though.  Going to cut that rope off and start over on it, not all that happy with how it came out...

Pretty much convinced I am. The helm is a bit rare in the 40k timeline except for mostly artificer-type armor, since it is a shout out to the HH an so it has survived 10k years if you brin it to present times.

Well glad you like, I do enjoy the helmetless head, but I am leaning towards fully helmed.  Who knows. My mind changes regularly, until I glue it down/prime and paint, I may change my mind.  For a Chapter Master I do feel as though being helmetless is inspiring yet foolish haha.  I do like the look of the head I chose though, he looks as though he is barking orders and whatnot.  Who know perhaps it is in-between the countless conflicts?  I don't know, so much to decide!!!

I am just as shocked, the Tartaros Termie legs are a tad longer than the Cataphractii ones, so it gives him a little more height than if I used the Cat ones.  So bulking them with a few decorations were key, just so the bottom doesn't look like twigs compared to the heavy top.  Still got a few things in mind I want to do.  Thanks for visiting!

Wow, Armond! He looks great; the bladed power-fist is genius! I may have to nick that idea for an upcoming mini' of my own if you don't mind?

And just my two pence, I think that given how intimidating and aggressive his stance and choice of weaponry is, the helmeted head works best.

You're right about the decorations on the Tartaros legs, as well as bulking them up a bit they also tie the two halves together a bit more. Perhaps adding banding along the bottom of his greaves to match the banding on his pauldrons would further bulk them out and tie them together?

No worries, steal away!  I always wanted to get the wrist blade put on someone!  Figure this guy deserves it!

I am 95% sure on the helmeted head, finalized soon!

Annnnnd you read my mind, I will be trying to putty some type of banding on it, just have to learn how to putty something similar ;)  I am a mediocre putty man at the best of times!  Not like yourself!

Ok, I am calling it now, minus the Chapter Badge(waiting for some putty work to dry on the left arm before working on that) and maybe a detail or two on his chest, I think this guy is good to go!

Thanks MagicMan, this is a vengeance fueled Chapter, so I wanted them to look a bit uncompromising in regards to their trade.

TOTR, glad you enjoy! I definitely need more practice, but I am particularly happy with the way he has come out!

Throne of Terra, he just looks so... Solid. Like he could walk through entire artillery barrages unscathed, then crush, bludgeon and tear his way through the enemy army with terrible ease. Killing with impunity and without a word, unyielding, implaccable and utterly merciless.

I LOVE IT. wub.gif

Looking fantastic, mate.

I think the helmeted head really adds some menace.

Exactly. Try imagining him walking slowly towards you through a heavy fog or smoke, a red light sweeping from side to side along that visor. devil.gif

Jealous of your sculpting skills, man. He's looking great. thumbsup.gif

Pfffft., I need more vision like you man. But thanks! When is this game we are supposed to have! I hear they have a place called the Metagame up in Wasilla/Palmer, is that someplace you have been?

Now you just need to get him painted so we can all gawp at him even more smile.png

I will, once I can commit to painting again. I burnt myself out a little on my Night Lords. But I will definitely post it once I get it done!

I like that description, "solid," seems to make some sense. I wanted him to have a strong physical presence on the board, and I figured a monster wearing dual-powerfists would bring it. I could have modelled double bolters to his fists, but didn't want to, plus I have always wanted to use the wristblade idea with the spare gladius I had. I am still considering adding a bit more decoration and all, but honestly, too much decoration would just be an eyesore for me...
