You got that bronze color spot on!

Great job Atia.

thanks =)

thats brilliant, have you got a colour recipe?

Hydra Blue:

1) Black Primer

2) Ironbreaker over it

3) Highlites with Runefang Steel

4) layers of Guilliman Blue until you have the right, strong blue tone

5) go over some of the highlites with very thined green glaze

6) last layer with Guilliman Blue over it

Death Guard Legion Castra Ferrum Dreadnought Vrahkamard

The so called 'Castra Ferrum' pattern Dreadnoughts entered service within the Legiones Astartes during the Great Crusade, and were initially conceived to fight in the cramped and deadly environs of so-called 'Zone Mortalis' war zones. The low, squared form and the distribution of their heavy armour panels make Mk IV and Mk V Dreadnoughts far more suited to fight along the corridors of space hulks and through the tunnels of xenos labyrinths than other patterns. They were also far easier to repair than the mighty Contemptor pattern Dreadnoughts, and so a great many Castra Ferrum Dreadnoughts remain in use ten thousand years after the Horus Heresy ....

Always loved the look of the pre-Heresy Death Guard, I'm really digging this.

That's why I don't get a Macharius Vulcan, no matter how awesome it'd look in Our Martyred Lady livery.

Looks good!

Really good Death Guard here. They already have a great scheme, but your painting does it killer mustice. Also, that XX sorcerer is really cool. Looking forward to the spartan! :tu:

Hiho Ponies :smile.:

Looking good, I can almost taste the rust on the interior.

Yeah, assembling my own spartan was also an ordeal. Took me 2 hours of bashing my head against a wall :tongue.:

At least yours has paint on it already!

Ugh, I don't envy you that assembly process.

It's looking hella good paint-wise though!

thanks for the emotional support :biggrin.:

I'm still waiting for my copy to hit the mail box. I swear, sometimes it feels like I live in an outpost of existence up here...

Let me know if you find any interesting Death Guard fluff, my brain hungers for it.

Still reading it but

- there are loyal Dusk Raiders vs traitor Iron warriors

(maybe i'll do one of them for the XIV legion -  march of the legion:

http://img5.fotos-hochladen.net/uploads/latest5xy12a0m8u.jpg

- Knights of  House Makabius are more or less slaves/cannon fodder of Mortarion

- The Death Guard gets some Thallax units after Istvaan to bolster their ranks :D

Great work as usual Atia! I'm struggling to gain the enthusiasm to attempt to build my Spartan! Looking forward to what you've got planned for the March of the Legions

Arkhas Fal was a Terran Lord of the GC era who served as commander of the XIX Legion for three decades before its reunification with Corax. Having fought against tyrants once himself, Corax disliked Fal's use of the Legion as a counter-insurgency, repression, and occupation force and thus expelled him from any command position upon taking control of his legion. He was later re-assigned to lead a predatory fleet to the outer realms of the universe

... and ta-da, you have the pre-40k-carcharodons ... i'll follow forgeworlds path of hints and use Tyberos modell with pre-Corax colours for Fal :tongue.:

Ooooh, that black and bone Knight scheme is *super* pretty.

yes, and i'm glad that i have managed to come pretty close to the artwork with mine :tongue.: just need to do some more corrosion and add a name to the knights breastplate :tongue.:

Well Done!

:thanks:

Ohhhh Tyberos the Red Wake...can't wait to see what you do with him!

Also, stop taunting me with images from Conquest! I don't have mine yet :sad.:

sorry :< keep the faith that your book will arrive soon!

  • 2 weeks later...

Hi ponies =)

Little update on Arkhas Fal:

Testudas pattern Terminator armour:

This suit of Terminator armour shares many similarities with early Indomitus armour produced on the Forge World of Testudas, designed to be an dedicated assault variant. Arkhas Fal gained a prototype of this Tactical Dreadnought Armour after the compliance of 27-13, as a gift from the Testudas-Mechanicum, but because of material straits and the outbreaking Heresy (and Testudas' extermination in the 3rd year of war) only a handful of suits, around 500, were ever manufactured and used by the Legiones Astartes.

still a lot to-do :tongue.:
