I like the list a lot, though I'm unsure on the loadout for your CSM squads. The autocannon says stay back and use the range, the melta gun says get close.

 

 

How does everyone like to equip their biker lord? Still trying to figure out what loadout.

Biker lord is always fist and claw with sigil. But with minus initiative from nurgle buffs, could probably save points and not bother with the claw anymore. And maybe give aura instead of sigil, or not bother at all because of fnp re-roll 1s + jink + stealth.

 

Saved points could pay for almost half a new lord

The reason I went auto/melta was giving the unit flexibility. If they are camped on objectives and not seeing much action they can still contribute (a little).

 

I can definitively see taking double melta or plasma as well, but coming from marines to the dark side being able to use an autocannon is a new and fascinating prospect.

 

As you can see I took a relic weapon on the lord since.. Uhh.. Well its fluffy? I dont expect to face a lot of 2+ armour so the daemon prince will have to suffice. That leaves me with either taking pwfist or the relic that gives bulk attacks.

 

Ap3 might not be the best, but i3 still beats or equals a lot of units.

Looks interesting though why the lighting claw? If you go a power sword you get the +1 A and since he is a sorcerer he can easily get poisoned weapons to re roll wounds. I'd more go for Aura for extra protection though you could probably find the points for both especially if you got rid of the combi melta on havocs

A few reasons for the claw.

 

1 his torso is the DV chosen with a power fist and I don't feel like modding it more than adding claws.

 

2 I just like fists and claws.

 

3 he's only for small games so I feel like I can drop some efficiency for rule of cool.

 

And yeah I had it in battlescribe with aura. I look at him more as an aggressive Lord who just happens to be a psyker than as a sorcerer

 

Edit: yeah I might want to drop that Combi melta. But I've been pretty stingy with upgrades overall in this list

So just wondering do people reckon it'd be fine having my death guard havocs modelled to have plasma cannons but count as lascannons game wise??? Iv always thought that the unholy trinity of weapons for Nurgle marines would be flamer, plasma and melta so it's a shame only loyalists get access to the heavier versions of the melta and plasma variety since I just love them even though they arnt that great. Plus I'm converting up a lascannon havoc squad and plasma gun chosen squad using the Forgeworld death guard conversion packs alongside the awesome mars pattern plasma cannons for rule of cool

Que? 

 

As long as every lascannon in your army is presented by plasma cannon and no plasma cannon represents anything else than lascannon, that should be fine.  But if you have plasma cannon models that are 'plasma guns' and other plasma cannons that are 'lascannons' you are kinda confusing people.

Don't worry only lascannons will be represented by plasma cannons the chosen squad will have a lascannon/ plasma cannon as the heavy weapon as well as 4 normal plasma guns (which will be plasma guns) Edited by teutonicavenger

Well I have a small 1K tournament / narrative event coming up and was coming up a list. This will be my first real tournament / narrative event in a while so was more going for a fun style list. Since it requires us to use the Highlander format with choosing lists I decided to use the Purge detachment so I can be less hampered in choice especially when it comes to troops this is what I got

 

Death guard detachment (everything has VOTLW and MON)

Chaos sorcerer

Lv 3 mastery, sigil of corruption, power sword and force axe, blight grenades, spell familiar

Lascannon, 4 plasmaguns, champ with powerfist

Any suggestions on what psychic discipline I should run with the sorcerer I was thinking either running all Nurgle or Santic with one Nurgle tax power though Maelefic may be a good idea so I can get some daemons summoned to make up for lack of bodies. I could also drop the sorcerer down to lv2 and use the points to give him the plaguebringer in which case I'd probably just stick to Nurgle powers

Just had a thought, as Tzeentch got updated Horrors and a Greater Daemon do you guys think we might get new Plague Bearers and a Gurgle of Nurgle at some point??

I sold my souls to Nurgle ages ago :D I really think I'll just redo my entire Nurgle army with Havocs and Chosen kit- bashed with FW weapon sets and the new plague Kit likewise with my main Nurgle Sorcerer (I like running one as my warlord fluffwise) who has had so many new versions with every new conversion idea I get it's not funny. I desperately want that sick back pack with the bell hanging from the horn :D luckily my daemon engines and dreadnoughts will be unaffected (apart fine maybe a new Nurgle contemptor conversion) I'll probably grab a couple hundred of those plague zombies for cannon fodder :D

I'll be very very poor when this release actually happens,

 

Will be bloody nice seeing this thread getting more activity too as the number of death guard armies are probably going to increase massively :D

 

All this Nurgle talk makes me miss the old Papanurgle Forum :( now that was an good den of filth dedicated to the Grandfather's work :D

I've still got some forgeworld plague marine upgrades so I think I'll end up buying the new stuff and convert the upgrades to look more similar to the new kits. I also need to finish a truescale Typhus that was started 4 years ago, but still hoping for his new version given how awesome Ahriman and Khârn looked. Also sort of wishful thinking but I'm hoping for a new nurgle daemon prince and maybe some tank upgrades.
