Going to a tournament on the weekend. Gonna try my own brand of red and gold imperial soup (BA & Custodes). It doesn't feature any BA specific units but it is thematic ala Battle of Terra etc.

 

Have a peep at the list (in spoilers) and tell me what you think. Worth noting that the missions are combined Eternal War and Maelstrom with kill points on top!

Hm on the other side gw replace whole sprues if just one part is broken or something is missing ^^.

But i think i will close the cockpit and say it is full armored and the pilot flies per guidance system. :D

It is an verry elitary list. Hope it withstands an high cadence of fire.

I would teleport the terminators everytime in front of vehicles/monsters and try to get the charge of.

Transporting in an Stormravend did not work for me as it get´s foccussed down.

I gues you are transporting the custodes with the raven?

 

Every one would hurt if the ravens go down. so save some command points for it up.

Never use super glue for transparent pieces, the fumes are notorious for causing fogging. If PVA does not provide enough grip then use polystyrene cement.

 

If you want to restore plastic that has already fogged, carefully brush the whole piece with clear floor polish such as Pledge Klear Multi Surface Wax. It will temporarily give you model an interesting floral aroma but it usually restores the clarity of fogged parts. :wink: I found this tip from aviation and railway modelling.

The list is deliberately elite to mitigate the kill points i give up in each game. Not sure if the tactic will pay off, but it's worth a shot.

 

Sadly Custodes can't hop in a storm raven. The SS squad will be acting as an retinue for my warlord. Who'll be sitting back buffing the Dev.

 

Units still just disembark from fliers if the vehicles are destroyed don't they? So there's not a huge risk, other than they may have a long walk.

 

The bike and scouts are fairly cheap but should prove versatile in either deploying onto a mid field objective or scooting over to one in the maelstrom missions.

 

Not sure how well the list will do. 2 Storm Ravens feels a bit dirty, i couldn't quite bring myself to take 3.

Well tournament buissnes may be a little bit dirty. 

Against what i will maybe face i feel still underpowered. I could played one fire raptor also but the faq came to late.

 

Will se how this tournament went and where the list´s are going.

If they all come out that you have to spam units to be superior i leave it to beer and bretzel games with my buddys.

The last edition had despite powerfull detachments alot of diversity.

Had my 2nd 8th edition battle the other day. While i still lost (despite my opponent rolling horrible on his ambush rolls) i can se that my beloved terminators have become decent with this edition. So im planning on using an all out terminator army for my next battle.

 

After seeing my friends gorgeus kit bashed terminator lord i wanna try to make one for my angels. 

 

Now i need your help. To me it seems like the most solid build for a terminator captain is relic blade and combi plasma?

Id love to hear someone thoughts on that. 

And also if someone know where to fint a good left hand combi plasma?

Finished my second Sanguinary Guard squad today (except I forgot to add soot to the jump pack jets!). First time doing power weapons by hand – think they came out okay.

Thanks DBH! Yep, old Command Squad banner, BA transfer and some Agrax shading.

Thanks Keebler! The gold is FW Castellax Bronze base, drybrush Rub n' Buff Gold Leaf, wash all over with Sepia ink thinned with gloss varnish, highlight with Metallic Medium.

Here are my BA,

they are my former Crimson Fists form 3rd Ed.

My brother has repainted them as BA and I'm quite happy with the result !

They're still waiting for transfers and basing.

Finally got around to playing my first game of 8th against a mix of night lords and fallen at PL 80. All in all it was a really close game even if we did end things of turn four due to it being past midnight! End result was a win for me mainly thanks to the remains of my assault squad disengaging from combat to grab an objective and linebreaker at the same time.

 

Hugely enjoyed it, both me and the guy I was playing against were stupidly excited throughout the entire thing.

So i got the tournament behind me and placed better than i expected after i got bashed hard from an eldar dark eldar flyer smite list game one. Lost 0:20

 

Sadly i´ve was in stress and forgott to take pictures. I made the mistake and flew in range of his psykers his flyers with dscytes and rockets did the rest so i´ve lost 2,5 flyers in turn 1! Scouts died in rows and my atrapos was killed at end of turn 4! So one wipe out in the morning oh my!

Two games maybe worth mentioning... A solid win against Dark Angels and a blow-out loss against Tzeentch Chaos. I didn't think to take pictures sadly... I used the same list in both games.

So, I got these guys pretty cheap but they were a bit beat up.

I ran it in the ultrasonic cleaner for a few good hours and it seem like the Mephiston primer will give no more.

-Do you guys think it will be OK to just move on to airbrushing 1st highlight? I'm worried that if I touch up the chipped parts the paint will look inconsistent with the simpled-greened primer.

-Also my first time doing red with an airbrushing. I'm thinking 1 airbrush highlight with Blood Red over this dulled Mephiston Primer, and airbrush shade 50/50 scab red/black for shadows, and then airbrush scab red all over to blend. Any suggestions?

What's the finish of the paint like? If it's not too think I would probably re-prime them to get an even colour and texture all over the models before moving on to other colours.

 

Do you have any Vallejo acrylic polyurethane primer? It's designed for use with an airbrush so you have a lot more control than using a spray can.
