In my (not so) free time, I've been working on a Biker Sergeant with magnetised options for a combi-grav and power lance. Haven't got the hang on of this magnetising lark yet...

Power Lance is uncommon! What's the appeal for it? Hit as hard as possible in one round?

Today I've made a start on my 2 tac squads. I've got all 20 of them sprayed in Amry Painter Chaotic Red. I've got all 20 of them first coated in Khorne Red. I've got 10 of them Nuln Oli'ed and I've finished one of them completly. (I always do a ful test model before I paint a squad.)

Plan for tonight is to finish the second coat on a whole 10 man squad and (time permitting) start on the wings / parchment / ornaments.

Edit: No idea whats going on with my font size. >_<

Well, I've wanted one since our last Codex so it's partly a hangover from that. That said, there may be times when I want the Sergeant to be able to do something in combat and on a unit I know is going to get the charge, I'd prefer to gamble on a lance than a sword (and if points allow, a melta bomb).

I have been considering adding a power lance instead of a power sword in a squad that will be attached to Dante for extra charges due to hit and run.

On an unrelated note, got my first game in in almost 2 months, a 1750 point "training mission" between the Angels Vermillion and Flesh Tearers.  Very violent, leaving almost no one left on either side.  My opponent learned why you need a power fist in a Sanguinary Guard squad when I charged them with a Librarian Dread.

Well my latest order from forgeworld just arrived including the two modelling masterclass books. Suffice to say that the content is staggering (and humbling) and I have a hell of a lot to learn, not one of the techniques was known to me so I'm very excited about trying them out!

My Stormraven arrived and is in a beautiful condition!

But I just slotted the turret into place thinking it would be easy to remove and in short, it is not...

Any tips Brothers?

Keep it in hot (not boiling, but hot) water for a while, the plastic should become a lot more flexible and allow you to remove the thing - take care not to cause anything to rip off though.

As it stands I have a fairly large collection (maybe nearing 9k now) and I've decided to devote some time to organising them into their respective companies. With that, it looks like I've got a first (due to a TDA Captain), tenth (Scouts), third (due to Tycho) and sixth (or seventh, due to the generic BA pre-Tycho model Captain) Company underway.

However, I also have the Games Day 2013 second edition box BA Captain model. Anyone know what Company he belongs to?

Third. The diagonal red stripe on yellow background is the company symbol of 3rd company. A straight stripe with same color would be 2nd company.

At the time of 2nd edition cover, Tycho did not exist yet (in fact, he was invented in a battle report on a white dwarf..!). This guy can probably be considered as the captain before Tycho - or after - or a veteran sergeant in 3rd company.

Three Third company captains? 3x3 is nine. Tzeenchluminati.

Being somewhat disillusioned with tac squads in this edition of everything scores, I've made up some scout squads that have languished in a box for a decade as some cheap scoring.

1x 10 man with powerfist serge.

2x 5 man sniper squads with ML/HVB.

Theyre based, and hopefully undercoated today.

Played a game with C/C scouts last night.

Never used them before, never leaving them at home again.

With the BSF and Red Thirst, a squad of 10 C/C scouts on the charge killed a Grey Knights Strike force and 2 Terminators.

Probably

I'll definitly be investing in a Powerfist Scout sgt, just for the giggles.

Sniper Scouts are consistantly inconsistant, sometimes being awsome, somethimes doing bugger all.

Which is quite fine, considering they don't cost crap.

Yeah, I mean, I mostly just infiltrate them onto objectives for easy scoring, but if the snipers managed to take a wound or two off a Monsterous creature or elite target, than they've pretty much paid for themselves.

I finished some Death Company. I've got 10 now in total plus a Chaplain, Land Raider and Flamerback. I'll take a group shot of the lot soon...

And that is the clincher. With the amount of AP2 that I have to deal with, cover plays a big factor.

The 215pts for 10 bp/ccw scouts with power fist vet serge and 5 snipers costs less than a single tactical squad that I usually take.

Suddenly my troop tax goes down from 450pts for 2 rhino mounted squads to 215, freeing up 235pts for another threatening unit.

Amazing.

20 scouts all sprayed up. I'm thinking of going with a grey or brown undersuit with brown camo cloaks to match the bases. Grey may be cool though.

Holy Terra that's amazing!

For myself, I've began construction on my second squad of Sternguard. By second squad, I mostly mean another five lads with combi weapons, so I can maximise the value of the Archangel's Sanguine Wing formation. Also, I feel like I need more combi weapons in a general sense.

Decided to put some yellow on my weapons for the assault squad (instead of helmets maybe?) really like the contrast with the red and black though I probably won't paint anything else yellow for a while :tongue.:
