Your work is amazing as always. I like the plan for using the new rubrics for vets as well as Atia's suggestion for destroyers if you are thinking of making some. I also applaud your loyalty to the Thousand Sons with your background tankard*

Something I wanted to ask for a while - what are you using for your vexillas?

Looks to be the Tethru back banner from Crocodile Games Aegyptus range

++++++++

Just a few test models using the new kits that I thought some people would be interested in seeing. I'm fairly pleased with them, their armor is too ornamental for line troopers but perfect for Veterans and Command Squad Chosen.

As Always,

Let me know what you think!

I am soooo glad you did this. My cousin is looking to get into 30k. We used to play 40k together. He wasnt convinced that the new 40k sons would work well with the 30k. I showed him your and he is out to order the new stuff. Fantastic work

Just as planned.

I secretly work for GW and was vat-grown to tempt people to buy new kits.

I've gotten a few messages already on other boards about a size comparison next to plastic Prospero Marines, due to the fact that this set is standing erect, not squatting:

And for those who were concerned about how well the kit fits in amongst 30k marines, the Answer is pretty much seamlessly.

In other words,  Where's Waldo?

Firstly, truly and totally stunning, because of course. That practically goes without saying in this thread.

Secondly, the loincloths in the new Rubricae kit - are they a bit too long to work with the BaC and BoP Space Marines? I like the clean HH aesthetic, but finding loincloths is proving more challenging than I expected.

The loincloths are a separate bit? Oh god, the urge to go full Thousand Sons is strong...

I think they fit fine. The Rubric marines are posed standing erect, not squatting but they are the same "size".

Here is a BaC marine with the Loincloth blu-tac'd on top to compare length. Understand that this model already has a loincloth so it doesn't sit flush, but the length seems just fine. Additional, it's worth noting that the Thigh armor is super easy to just cut right off the loincloth if that doesn't fit on the model.

The BoP marine is bulkier, and to make the loincloth fit you would probably need to remove the kilt armor and the Torsos built in armored loin-cloth, but again the length seems fine. And these are all easy features to cut off.

Hope that helps!

Athrawes, how much more do you plan on adding to the army? Also, do you reckon you might add some less conventional units, like Assault Marines? I've never seen any Thousand Sons set up that way, is there fluff that says they can't be?

I'd assume that, at this point, he, like A LOT of us, is just waiting on the 30k Rules for them before we start making anything more specialized instead of Generic Bolter Marines or Punchy-Stabby HQs and Vehicles.

We'll see when Inferno is in our hands.
