The future of Sisters

Calvary is pretty uncommon all around and could use more love. Only, what, three factions have any? Just Guard (counting FW And GW as one here) Daemons and Space Wolves right?

So yeah, cav could definitely be a way to give Sisters something unique. Plus Joan of Arc themes continue when you have armored ladies on horses.

I must be quite lucky then. Every ebay purchase I made regarding Sisters came with everything they should have. And my army wouldn't nearly be as big as it is without buying second hand. There again, I made triple sure I could rely on the vendor to send out what they were supposed to.

Hello

Man I remember when I had to go to ebay to replace missing backpacks....I should have just bought new for how much they cost me.

Luckily(?) I still have plenty of complete girls to get around to painting before I wonder what to do about those missing their packs.

Backpacks are the number one item that seems to go missing for the Sisters.

Why is that? Because they resemble that of Chaos Space Marines, so gamers would cannibalize the Adepta Sororitas models when converting Space Marine models into those of their traitorous brethren? Or simply because the backpacks aren't securely mounted (see 1d4chan's explanation for the "Abaddon has no arms" meme here)?

I don't like how far the pack sits out from the body, so I cut down the ball bit to flush the backpack to the back of the model, and applied copious super glue.

Then I ripped them all of when I realized I had to paint them.

That's why I like using the dreamdorge models with actual GW backpacks. Sure the dreamgforge models come with perfect backpacks and weapons...but to make it more authentic the GW stuff is great. With a few little clips on the model, the GW backpacks fit flush to the back without them sticking far off.

Giant cyber eagles could be interesting...but putting them in the army seems kinda wrong in a way too. Not sure how to feel about that to be honest.

Personally I think something like a single seater non-chaos nurgle blight drone. Give it a heavy bolter and jetbike rules and i'd be happy. (no, i'm not jealous of the eldar scat laser jetbikes. Why would i be jealous of filthy xenos? It's not like I like that kind of mobile firepower or anything... wub.png )

I've found that most are ok. when it comes to sold as seen you have to make sure that everything that should be there is there in the picture. My thoughts are that Ebay is the best place to pick up standard sisters or stuff that's completely gone off of the web store. Any Special/Heavy weapons seraphim and repentia are best bought from GW are best bought from GW as their resale price usually goes higher than buying new.

Instead of getting jealous, kitbash your own Fast Attack vehicle, and write your own rules for it. If anyone complains that your army is overpowered, you're doing something right. What's the worst they can do, refuse to play against your army?

If anyone complains on a fluff basis, feel free to do to them what their overpowering army was about to do to yours, i.e., make the Sisters of Anger proud.

..... make the Sisters of Anger proud.

I have never seen that before in my life, despite being a regular on that site. I'm in love! Thanks for the link, it made my day. wub.png

Unfortunately my local meta is very anti-house rules of any kind, so I really can't do that. :( I'll just have to content myself with bringing in allies (Bjorn leading eight other space wolf dreadnoughts perhaps... :D )

As for getting backpacks, i've never had any missing backpacks despite getting all of my army so far 2nd hand from ebay. Maybe i'm just lucky... *shrugs* Maximini has their 'gothic backpacks', but I think they're space marine sized and not sister sized. Might look a little too big but it's something. :)

it sounds like the prime and play brigade at work. Gonna buy an army put it together, prime it so it's at least not totally unpainted, wait... this army sucks because i haven't put enough thought or effort into it... time to sell and get something better!

I've had a fair few models that have been primed and still have the mold lines and flash still on. But sometimes i think it might be a sneaky reseller priming to hide a bad paint stripping job. They all go into the same bucket of detol regardless.

Ugh, missing backpacks... yeah, aside from new purchases I also bought a bunch of Sisters used, for very good prices. More used the new Sisters models in fact, as an end result. Missing I think 2-3 Seraphim backpacks and I think a few normal ones as well. Could be worse I guess, given the total number of models.

Yeah I lucked out, I bought a number of the canoness model (first run of the current version) because it came with 2 back packs (1 flame, and 2 flames).

After the initial release they switched the pack to only include 1 random backpack.

Now I believe it only comes with the 1 flame backpack.

I used the 2 flame backpack for my superiors, which left me with most of the backpacks I needed for my sisters that were missing theirs.

I believe I am only missing 1 seraphim pack and 2 regular packs... but those might just be floating in my bits box.

I just got into sisters recently, so my collection is even more limited than most, sculpt-wise. I think I have 7 bolter sisters, but a few of them I have but 1 of. This is out of 24 total. Either way, all of my stuff is new from GW, excluding my Seraphim Superior, which I had to get new in box off of Ebay.

I don't know if I want the know how much I've given GW since last August, but it's got to be approaching a grand. And I have enough to make a 1500 point list, with a few spare models. I guess that's not counting the Repentia and the 2 penitent engines. Either way, sisters are expensive even compared to other GW products, but there's just no substitute as far as I'm concerned. And buying off Ebay is really a hassle for me, and it's easier to get exactly what I want direct from GW. Usually it's not much more expensive either.

All this because I looked at the Exorcist model and said, "I HAVE to have that." That, and I read Yarrick, Imperial Creed, and the squad of sisters in that book are pretty awesome.

And Yarrick BLAMs someone. What kind of Commissar themed book would it be if he didn't (excluding the obvious exception: Ciaphas Cain)?
