Yes and no... definitely will be fully magnetizing. And I have a rough outline in my head for the house.

A fractured house. In crisis as it were. (I intend to magnetize some heraldry elements to represent members of the house refusing or accepting imperial compliance) a long story for another thread.

Yeah guys I'm loving all the WIP knights coming along, some great kit bashes and conversions coming through.

On the house hermetika front I bring news;

Finally received my first Upgrade kit.

Obsidian decked out in the new Armour, now ill try smash him out but Crimson will have to wait till I move out of the :cuss hole flat I've been in for the past month.

Wow, you people really are a tough Act to follow :)

I' ve made some progress on both my House background and the actual Knight. I am shamelessly pointing anyone interested towards my AoD blog: http://www.bolterandchainsword.com/topic/318300-black-iron-green-suns-the-rise-and-fall-of-forge-ikhar/?do=findComment&comment=4424595

I will be sure to post the finished Knight here also.

So, posting here because I'm only familiar with the broad strokes of Knight fluff and vague about their origins, but I have a question. I'm wondering if it's possible that Knight suits (or very similar technology) existed on Terra prior to the Treaty of Mars? Like I said, I'm only vaguely familiar with the lore surrounding the Knights, but I sorta need to know for... reasons.

Well house tyranis was founded on Mars in the 25th Millennium so Terra is pretty close. It might not be like a 600 strong household but I'd wager a guess there would be a couple suits flying around

House Tyranis? I´m quite sure you mean no insult to the noble House Taranis?!

So after looking through the new CIAL (Crusade Imperialis Army List) Book, I noticed a couple of changes to the Questoris Knights-

1) Questoris Knights cannot take Dual Avenger Gatling Cannons on either the Warden or Crusader Chassis.

2) Questoris Knight Crusaders cannot field an Avenger Gatling Cannon AND Battlecannon on the same chassis- its one or the other. Crusaders are stuck with Thermal Cannons and either the Gatling or Battlecannon RAW... sad.png

Hopefully this is a typo from FW, as I like my Crusaders to have Battlecannons and Gatling Cannons for all the dakka. That said, Thermal Cannons are pretty nice.

On the plus side:

1) Carapace weapons are allowed on non-cerastus Knights (excluding the Stryix/Mageara).

2) "Legendary Freeblades" can evidently be used as elites for the Questoris Knights list.

Good news guys I got a knight for $60 from a guy at the club. So I'm thinking about trying to build a cerastus from it.

Any ideas? Is it possible or is it going to require a huge amount of converting? I think the top is going to be a bit hard though.

Well considering the release of renegade was close to the release of the CIAL it could be in a later FAQ. I'll email forgeworld and ask if this is an oversight.

If not once again just house rule it it may not be official but part of this thread is coming up with new Weapon variants loadout etc.

Now that I'm back home I'll be heading to GW so I might bring home some goodies

I imagine it is, since the opposite is true for 40k Crusaders, who can take the Thermal OR Battle Cannon and Avenger Gatling Cannon.

I know I'm hoping it's an oversight. Although having a Warden with Thunderstrike Gauntlet seems pretty good in 30k... Something about throwing a Spartan/Thanatar/Leviathan seems too good to pass up. biggrin.png

The one Knight I have is one of the FW all resin ones, not based on the plastic GW frame. I figure it's going to be the same headache with posing the legs and hips like it's been on the Contemptor and the Thallax/Castellax, but wondered if anyone had any other assembly tips.

My Knight-Lancer was a joy to build and paint, (although I say that coming off of a Warhound build, so take that as you will...tongue.png) the only thing I'll say is that building in sub-assemblies, and dry-fitting them when complete, makes life so much easier in terms of posing your Knight.

Also, if you happened to get a Lancer, be careful of the Ion Shield- it can be fiddly to fit on the model if the arm is too close to the body. The shoulder pad tends to get in the way.

Other than that, have fun. thumbsup.gif Any idea of what House your Knight will be a part of?

*edit* Whoops, just saw that you said Castigator for the Chassis.

I have ten Freeblades under my command, all of us seeking glory in the name of the Imperium! And what greater glory is there than to strike down those that would besmirch the honor of the Imperium?

(I'll post pictures of the Knight Castigator I have finished when I get home. In the mean time, I have one that doubles as a certain Freeblade in my 40k games.)

(Posting the picture directly was a bit big, :( )
