Thanks guys! All the criticism (both positive and negative) is really encouraging. It's helping me keep the the enthusiasm levels going and makes me wish I could spend all day every day on this guy till he's done!

Tonight I've been able to work on the final bits of the main body of Magnus, his claws and the eye in his palm.

Now, I am a big fan of "demon eye". Every film or tv series has this, and I think it looks super cool and evil.

Now normally 40k demon's dont have eyes big enough to get this effect across because the grey and white don't contrast well enough at such a small scale. However, Magnus's palm eye is pretty big. So what do you guys think?

Are you mad if I try to copy your paint scheme for mine :biggrin.:?

Lol, not at all Atia! Flattered you'd consider it worthy to copy!

Dude, I seriously hated the hand eye until you salvaged it.... awesome idea, really works soooooo much better than the almost comic GW version!!

That's kinda why I am asking people for their thoughts on the eye. Trying to go for sinister, and everything else there would seem to go against the colour scheme.

That look's awesome Tzen, are you going to give the eye a coat of Ard' Coat or similar to make it shine?

Nemac

Gonna try a few things out and see how it goes, I may just add some black ink to the "corners" of the ye to simulate moisture. I don't want to be too heavy handed with varnish, I reckon it can be OTT if not done right and I am not sure I trust myself!

Thanks Magnus (Great name by the way!).

I think it looks cool too but part of me wasn't sure. Like, maybe I should have done "more" with it.

I don't think you need to do more with it.

Which begs the question: Will you be doing the rest of eyes the same way? On the armour and such.

You know you will have to go to Nottingham with this .

I'm not sure what you mean here. If you mean I should take the model to Nottingham I am pretty sure they will sternly (but very politely) tell me to leave! :D :P

The eyes on the armour will stay as is, as in, they will be bright and normal eye looking. The reason for this is because I want the physical bits of Magnus to come across sinister and demonic, but I want the armour to reflect his history, and Propsero was a clean relatively colourful place. Also it's a nice contrast between the two. It's looks more sinister if it's sat next to something that is bright (even if they are still a little creepy).

Addiitonally the eyes are actually sculpted on the armour to represent eyes. They have a gap where the iris is, and unless I filled them with green stuff (too late now), it wouldn't work :(.

I took a few more pics for my own benefit. Thought i'd share!

Phenomenal (also the other stuff posted after this!)

I might have to just leave the chest plat off my magnus after seeing this :o
