You've been busy! Loving the work done, especially on the rhinos. I may have to copy the marine trophy one day. And when I say copy I mean steal your idea!

Thanks a lot, I've been busy indeed! Copy ahead, I was heavily influenced myself by the ones Thamier did for his bastions, I think a more complete body looks much better and sinister that the typical head...

The OSL and blood are spot on.

Thanks!

that rhino looks great, the OSL is perfect and still eary. look forward to seeing how the others come on :smile.:

Thanks brother, you can see the next one now!

Today I finished the second Rhino and already started the next one, so hopefully it will be completed tomorrow. I know this is a pace I cannot hope to maintain for long, but painting a Rhino per day has risen my hopes of finishing on time!

Much more recognisable as a Harvester of Souls without that colourful loyalist and all the mess that caused getting him there, but I think the OSL of this one is worse than before, all of the front was difficult to paint, the brush couldn't reach everything well with the spikes :P!

I don't know if I'm being too light on weathering, what do you guys think?

I agree, heads and helmets on pikes are alright but a corpse sends quite the message.

The second rhino is also looking good. My problem with pointy bits were them jabbing me. Chaos can literally be a pain to work with.

Great model again! I know your pain with spikes, maybe next time don't glue them on until after painting? This model certainly has that eary grim look of 40k.

I recon a bit more weathering would work well

Thanks! I think that gluing them after painting would be a mess, as the plastic glue would get over the paint and I would basically have to repaint the whole thing again :P... sometimes you have to pay a price for coolness. What I feel about the weathering is that it is lacking in the frontal part, but I can't reach there with the sponge because of the spikes... And as I am answering this I just realised I forgot to weather the last rhino, dammit!

Yeah, and the message is DIE LOYALIST/FALSE CHAOTIC SCUM!!!

And yes, it wouldn't be the first time I cut myself with my models while playing or working with them... ;)

I finished the third and last Rhino but, as I mentioned to Sagentus, I forgot to weather it so, even though I'll do that now, the following pics don't show it:

Not totally convinced about the berzerker because the red armour looks weird with the red blood, but I though that if I only had one berzerker, it had to be of the World Eaters... However if I add more zerker trophies in the future they will be of the Black Legion or maybe even the heresy WE colours. Quite happy with everything else though.

Also took a couple of group shots:

What do you think? And what is more important, what do I paint next? I was thinking of painting the havoc weapons, to have that unit finished.

Beautiful looking tanks! Really liking the corpses strapped to the fronts. Sorta off topic but really liking your reds like on the berzerker, would love to see some models painted in red even if they aren't from the harvesters. Impressive how much you've progressed with your army in the past couple of days, and I'm more of a fan of the Draugar but the havocs could be cool too (also curious how you'll paint the cremators). Looking forward to seeing more!

Nat that last 1 looks epic, I really like the bloob on the bez, you can see he has been mangled ^^ ... The blood god will be anoyed/pleased at the same time!

Thanks, I hope he's more annoyed than pleased, but not enough to curse my dice rolls (now that I think about it, I've been rolling horrible charge distances recently with the Draugar... :P)

Thanks Vairo! I must admit that I enjoyed painting the red a lot, I'll try to fit it for a side project when I finish this army, maybe a Necromunda gang... As for painting order I decided I'll be painting ten Draugar, then ten Cremators, then 10 Thralls, the Chaos Lord, the other 10 Thralls and then the 5 Draugar and Cremators left. And the Havocs? Well, here they are:

Not a big update, but it is good to have them off my back, I like how they look at the end.

Havocs are looking good, looking forward to seeing all the marines you'll be churning out in the next while. A Necromunda gang sounds cool too, excited to see what you'll come up with.

Thanks! Seeing how much it took me to paint this five, my confidence in having the army painted for the tournament is pretty low, but will do as much as I can! I'm thinking of an Escher gang for Necromunda, as they seem to be the easier to sculpt, but the fact that they're on the starter box and everyone will be playing them is really pulling me back. Still some time untill November though, so no hurry on deciding.

I started school on Friday and spent the evening playing D&D with friends, while yesterday I was all day playing 40k in my local store, so only had today for painting :P... I managed to finish the first Draugar squad though (except for bases and weathering, which I'll do at the end for everyone), but the tournament is next week and I still have a lot to paint, so I fear I'll have to use unpainted models :(.

For being painted on a day, I'm quite happy with them, they don't look as Plague Marines, which was my biggest concern, and they're easily recognisable as part of my army.

I did some intense painting today, and didn't enjoy it as much as I could, but they were still pretty fun to paint, I like how the tentacles look at the end. When the tournament is over I'll do some drug/blood/ichor tanks for the backpacks for them and paint the legion symbol on every shoulder.

Next up I'm painting 5 Cremators, should be quicker than these as they're already half painted and don't have as much detail, but tomorrow afternoon I have another 40k game, so don't know if I'll be able to finish them untill Tuesday... But I will spend the rest of my afternoons home painting as much as I can, I promise! ;).

Third rhino looks sweet. Add tamiya clear red so a more wet gore look!

The changes to the plague marine are pretty sweet but the guy with the tentacle head reminds me of the sand worms. From Beetlejuice. And that is what scares me.

Haha. Now rhry look fantastiquè. Really a very creative idea to make berserkers out of.plague marines.

Merci beaucoup, je suis tres satisfait avec eux ;)! Now, leaving my poor french speaking skills besides, I'm quite happy with that kit, once you remove all the pustules and entrails you get some very cool marines, so might pick a box of the new multi-part Plague Marines for future projects.

Nice to see some of the Draugar painted! Nice paint jobs as usual, I like the colors on the green axe a lot. Hope you can get most of your stuff painted if not all before your tournament.

Thanks! I needed something to make it stand out as a power axe, glad to see that you like it. Right now I think I'll get everything but ten Marines, which isn't as terrible as it could, as it has been frequent in my test games for a unit to die completely before another one disembarks, so there's a chance I won't have to deploy unpainted models...

Tamiya clear red... I take note for future models, though the GW BftBG effect looks fine enough for me it is always good to try out new techniques.

And it isn't the first time I get said that those very same tentacles resemble to a movie called Beetle Juice, I guess I'll have to see it now :P!

As promised, I got five Cremators done:

I'll do the bases at the end with the rest of the army, as well as the weathering. Also after the tournament I'll do some chaos star freehands on the capes.

They're a bit rushed, but should look fine with the rest of the army. When this tournament is over, I'm going to do a SLOW project ;), I'm fed up with speed-painting...

Fantastic work with the cremators, great to see them in their full size! As mentioned before those helmets look awesome, I think having a single glowing looks really cool. Also a SLOW project? I hope we get to see another large scaled sculpting project!

This whole army is amazing and these cult troops are inspired! Would you believe me if i said i had the same idea about turning the plague marines into zerkers?=) I never followed through but seeing how yours turned out so cool, i might have to give it a second thought!

Those cremators are creepy as hell btw, their heads remind me of the giants from dark souls 2:)

Thanks, I'm happy with how they're looking, but will most probably get back to them when time allows it to fix a couple of things. The single glowing eye is more for fluff than anything else, I'm glad you find it to be cool, it is to show that HoS are only half alive. The only question is if the glowing eye represents the living or the dead half...

As for the slow project I don't have anything concrete in mind, I just want it to not be rushed, more like the typical calm and enjoyable project :P. Though having finished seeing Metalocalypse a couple of days ago I'm seriously considering doing a Dethklok-themed Orlock Necromunda Gang...

No. Not the marines. Buy the ney death shroud. You would do insane things with them

You know, actually I've been thinking about doing some Obliterators and I think deathshrouds would be the perfect base, being only three in the box and bigger than regular terminators. Even though, they look so cool I'll end up using them sooner or later...

Thanks brother! Go for it, if you have a dremel to remove all the Nurgle's "blessings" you would make some awesome zerkers judging by your previous work. Wait for the multi-part kit though.

And creepy as hell is a great compliment for me, so thank you ;)!

The plague marines are very interesting to see in such a non-standard paintscheme, it looks good!

Thanks, I'm quite proud of them, never liked painting things in "standard" colours as shown in the box.

Today I finished my Chaos Lord with Jump Pack, Lighting Claw and Combi-Melta:

ZJM5QxE.jpg

I don't know why but I think he's missing something, maybe it'll look better once the base is done...

Unfortunately today was quite busy and didn't manage to finish 10 poxwalkers too as I had planned, but tomorrow I have extra spare time which will hopefully allow me to catch up. However I did make some progress on them:

hhZ24qC.jpg

The flesh on them is finished, as well as the horns and tentacles, so tomorrow I'll surely finish them and maybe even the next 10 too.

Chaos lord is looking cool, really liking the skin tones on the non poxwalkers definitely looking forward to seeing them completed. And if you do a Dethklok gang make sure to give one of them some bleach!

Tamyia Clear Red with a droplet of Abaddon Black or Mournfang Brown is far superior to BFTBG, you definitely should try it.

I love the Beetlejuice-like tentacles and horns on the Poxwalkers, really cool. The flesh looks great too. Great work all around!

Thanks! The poxwalkers were finished last night, will try to post pics as soon as possible. And that is actually a cool idea for some kind of chem weapon ;).

Thanks brother, will see where to get it and give it a try. I'll see Beetlejuice as soon as I can, I can promise that it wasn't intended :P!

I never thought to add a dark paint to the clear but that does sound nice. And what kind of world do I live in where you haven't seen Beetlejuice!

Anyways, back to the topic! I must start by saying that lord looks brutal and he has quite the presence. May he reap many souls!

The pox walkers also look great. The skin paint job is spot on.
