Sorry for the late reply guys!

JEEPERS CREEPERS!!!!

Your Keeper of Secrets is coming along quite well. Love the dynamic, but he is overshadowed by your troupe of malal daemonettes. So cool, can't wait to see them painted.

Thanks, if that’s the case I think you’ll enjoy this post ;).

The Keeper's looking great, there's such a difference between the two progress shots!

Thanks! The first one was just concept fitting, now that I’ve started with real sculpting it is looking much better.

That thing is insane. Seriously. WOW!!

I know it's temporary, but love the gold and green and grey. :biggrin.:

Thanks a lot brother! Really though? I hate the gold, green and grey, can’t wait to prime it :P!

Some great slaanesh conversions in this thread, very interesting to see how you've mixed the witch aelves and daemonettes parts together.   Sigmar is supposed to be getting an aelves release soon if the shadow queen/morathi teaser is anything to go by, think that might play a part in the shaping of this new slaanesh force?

Thank you, the new releases will defenitely get added to my force once they’re realeased, I’m already putting aside some money for it, those snake aelves are just too perfect!

That KoS is amazing, even more so when you see how it started out! Really liking the Cypher repose as well, definitely looking forward to seeing more from you!

Thanks Vairo, I’m also liking a lot how the KoS is turning out with time, will post more pics soon as I’ve already started on the legs.

Dude, I love the updates but that Keeper of Secrets! WOW! That thing looks righteously wicked and creepy to the point of perfection!

Hahaha, “righteously wicked and creepy to the point of perfection” must be one of the best compliments I’ve got ever, thanks a lot!

Sorry for the delay guys, got a bit side tricked by a couple of commissions and a personal project, but I managed to sneak a bit of time for this project and got four test colour schemes painted between which I have to decide:

Option 1:

X37Hslr.jpg

I’m actually a huge fan of this option and the one I’m leaning more towards, it might look a bit to mortal-like, but otherwise I think it’s really striking and fits perfectly with my CSM colour scheme.

Option 2:

7F8EELJ.jpg

Everyone I’ve asked in my store liked this option the better for some reason, I painted half the hair black and half white to see which one would look better, still not sure though... My main problem with it is that it looks too slaaneshi, which is something I’m trying to avoid overall.

Option 3:

GvVV03p.jpg

Admittedly the most Malal looking of the four, but it looks too plain in my opinion, I think an striking colour scheme looks better for daemons. However, I love how the wet make up looks and will try to use it 8n whatever scheme I use, saw it on a White Dwarf years ago and remembered it when painting this model, very happy with the result!

Option 4:

NaFttzX.jpg

Don’t worry, I’m not going for this option, just wanted to see how a darker skin tone would look as I’m a huge drow fan from D&D, but I’m not convinced at all, not the look I’m going for with this army.

So, what do you guys think? Right now I think I’m going for Option 1 with Option 3 eyes and maybe without the lipstick, but it would be great to hear your opinions! Which option do you like the best? Is there some element of one of the options I should try on another? What do you think about the coloured endings of the hair? Anything else I should try?

Man, I am having a hard time between 1, 2, and 3. I like the green and purple as it adds a nice, finishing touch to the monochrome paint scheme. Purple however adds a link to Slaanesh. I really like three because I think it's more Malal as it is drained of color since the Renegade is a bit of a leech/parasite I hear.

fantastic job until now
My heart makes always a jump when I see another follower of Malal :cool.:

I would say option 1, with a more "immortal" skin tone (?)
Maybe you could use option 3 as the squad champion... because it looks too awesome to not use it

  • 2 months later...

Hi guys it´s me again! I know it´s been a while, and I´m going to need some time to catch up with all the awesome things i´m sure I have missed, but I´m back! And this time for real, I swear (because I finished my IB final exams three days ago). So, in this time I haven´t been able to do almost anything hobby related, though my Slaanesh army did advance a bit and will hopefully be able to update soon on those (btw, I chose option 2 in the end because, even though I liked 1 better, 2 does link the army to Slaanesh as some of you suggested and I need that to play them as a proxy army). However, this three days have been pretty hectic and I´ve spent hobbying most of the time I wasn´t celebrating, so I got to finish a Sisters of Battle comission I had from a while ago, based on the Sisters of Silence models:

yUIDlrj.jpg

I´m pretty happy with how they´ve ended up looking, though probably I shouldn´t have been as lazy and manually sculpted all the Inquisition icons on the pauldrons, instead of press molding them

Anyways... With those done I´ve already started on my next comission, the Harlequinn side of Daeth Masque:

And here you have some close-ups of the Solitaire conversion I made out of a regular harlequin:

Hope you like it, I´m so glad to finally have time to spend on my models again, it looks like it´s going to be a hobby packed summer!

Good to have you back and with a bang! I love the sisters conversions. Definitely want to see more of that.

Solitaire also looks great.

Thanks hush! I'll make something more sister-related to make up for how much I took to finish them, but actually don't know what... Maybe some kind of cherubim or something like that?

Nice greenstuff work on the sisters and badclowns.

Thanks a lot, missed greenstuff so much!

Your Sisters look promising.

Thanks, glad to hear so, but I won't be making more work on them as the client wanted to paint them himself :P.

Finally

Good to have you back. Missed your project posts and your comments on my threads

Thanks brother, I missed it too ;)! Didn't see your threads in the first two pages though, will search for it tomorrow to see what you've been up to!

Thrilled to see you back on the forum and congrats on finishing your IB exams! Love the sisters of battle and that solitaire conversion is looking cool! Definitely looking forward to seeing you posting again. And on a side note, very cool 3D modelling stuff on your instagram as well!

Of the girls, I like Option 1, though I think I'll be looting #2 for my own army. :smile.: Great looking sisters too.

Haha well, as I´ve already stated, I liked 1 better too, but will be going for 2 becasue of gaming reasons. And thanks!

Hi Vairo, thanks a lot, it has been so liberating to get those off my back. And thanks for the compliments too, I did 3D modelling instead of traditional modelling this time because, as it needs almost no set-up, it allowed me to be much more productive during the short spare time gaps I had. However, now that I have plenty of time, I´ll be doing both kinds of modelling :P. Also, the stuff I´ve seen on your Instagram was amazing too, the chaos jokaero was inspired!

As promised, pics of my Slaanesh army, which has been already pledged to the ETL:

hj2NAqn.jpg

As you can see, I currently have 40 daemonettes, a herald and a fully magnetised exalted seeker chariot ready for painting, which will hopefully get primed tomorrow aswell as the harlequins. Half of the daemonettes are based on the Witch Aelf models from the Daughters of Khaine AoS range, while the other half are based on Sisters of Slaughter, both of them mixed with regular daemonette models. I chose this at the end because I liked both units a lot, it allows me to play them both in AoS, both their aesthetic fits perfectly a slaaneshi army and it will be handy to differentiate between units when I play them all as daemonettes. Anyways, on to photos (sorry for the even worse than usual quality, but my iPad got stolen, which means I now have downgraded to phone photos, will try to sort out how to transfer photos from my camera to my computer as soon as possible and hopefully then it´ll get better):

This ETL is going to be pretty hard for chaos, so I´ll try to finish these as soon as possible to be able to make more vows, maybe if I get a chaos comission :P...

Oh yes. I will be excited to see more SoB stuff but I am very eager to see these daemons get painted.

Your conversions for them are top notch and I really liked the earlier paint jobs you had done for them that are in squad 2.

Best of luck with your vow!

Thanks brother! I´m still thinking about something to sculpt to compensate for the delayed SoB commission... Maybe a sculpted Dialogus or an Arco-Flagelant? I guess I could make a reasonably cool-looking arco-flagelant from scratch... And for the Slaanesh, all the older paintjobs have been covered but for the purple one, sadly:sweat: .

Fantastic conversion work on the whole army, love all the dynamic poses. Hope we get to see more from you soon!

Thanks Vairo, I really like having armies in where every single model is converted, and I agree the Daughters of Khaine models from AoS are so dynamic. If by soon you mean less than an hour then wish granted :P!

So yesterday I finally got to priming both the Harlequins and this first batch from my Slaanesh army, which means the painting train has left the station and it doesn´t have any brakes!!!

And in the afternoon I got a test model finished for the harlequins:

HNoHPql.jpg

At the end I didn´t go with any stablished masque colour scheme, and got this very grimdark looking player. At first I was concerned it would be too sinister for my customer tastes, but I got in contact with him and he said he liked it a lot, so dark clowns incoming!

Hope you guys like him and would appreciate any kind of feedback, today I´ll be painting some slaanesh models so that I can look at the harlequin with other eyes after some time has passesd, maybe I´ll even sculpt something if I feel like it, I have a pile of D&D characters to do...

I like the test figure! Awesome colors and I love the painted design on the thighs and chest. That is superb! It's also awesome you did that in one afternoon at that level. You saw my test model in just black and silver and he's been like that for days.

And no biggie on the change of paint for Slaaneshi Daemonettes. I'm looking forward to seeing them.

As for the SoB's I think some converted acro-flagellants using a lot of AM parts would be cool.

Thanks a lot! I do have a lot of spare time this days, but it actually took me one hour forty to paint him, which is more I had expected, frankly:sweat:... As for the daemonettes, I´ve already started on a full unit and finshed the mounted herald, have to admit I´m growing to the purple. And if I do an arco-flagellant at the end no bits at all will be used, it´ll be a bloody battle between just the putty, my hands and the sculpting knife!!! (Actually let´s hope for no blood at all).

Anyways, today I painted up the chariot herald (chariot not featured):

K7s8ZhF.jpg

d4amboB.jpg

nyrDshU.jpg

Didn´t use any metals at the end and NMM´d everything instead, which I´m pretty happy about as it a) makes the model more monochromatic and b) makes it more intersting. The only thing I´m not sure about is the hair, I´ll try something different for the next one.

Any feedback will be appreciated, also just noticed I still need to add some tattoos to her, will leave to do that now!

Excellent work on the Harlequin, especially the discolourations of the blade. The Slaaneshi force is really nicely done too, the melding of kits has produced a much more dynamic and truer image of how I would imagine such a force to appear.
