Ok dudes, I have been scouring the Warpnet, (well the French part of it)

Things are a bit ambiguous.

*snip*

Thanks as always.

The impression i get from reading the translations is that they don't really know more than us. Farseer is just commenting on the wording of the article he had hitherto missed. It is very explicit wording in said article though, so if its a mistake, its the biggest slap in the face.... well since F&F.

Never got it myself either. Good riddance I say. And welcome to whatever comes next.

On a slightly different note I'm really getting codex fatigue. Especially if they don't even last a year. Won't bother with publication for a while unless it happens to be very good and very relevant to us (I can usually find places or friend's copies to read anyway)

Anyone else tempted to burn F&F now we don't need it anymore?

Honestly, I'm not buying GW's books since the 7th edition. Paper ones become invalid and outdated before i get them by mail. And they keep issuing more and more books, so by the end of edition you'd need a separate case for rules. Electronic readers would be more comfortable, but GW still has not learned how to make corrections in their e-books, to make valuable. One could buy those books for art and readings, but the lore is rubbish, honestly, 75% of art is picts from good old "grimdark" editions, the rest belongs to new sucked out of thumb lore. So why would i buy those?

I can't even use the most recent version of the codex. Being completely blind, I obviously can't read the printed version, and the software on my phone won't allow me to log into the new app to buy the rules there. So until a searchable PDF is made for the core rules and the codex, I'm locked out of reading my own rules. I have to ask other people to read them to me, which is pretty embarrassing.

Fortunately I'm good at memorization.

Yet here we all are, complaining and whinging about our own codex and models, when Valkenhayn cant even see. And it seems to me that he even still plays too! Incredible. Really puts things in perspective. Brothers, we should be more resiliant like Valkenhayn here.

I do still play, though I haven't taken my BT off the shelf for a few months now. I've been playing Khorne Daemons for all of 9th.

Was hoping that as 9th progressed that would change, but thus far I'm dubious. I still don't own any Primaris, and every time I've about convinced myself to buy some GW does something to ward me off. Taking Honor The Chapter away from units like EC and Company Vets, making Transhuman Primaris only, and upgunning the new speeders and Eradicators. It just makes me feel weird about the whole mess, so I shelve the project and go do other things.

I do think SM armies will work fine without Primaris, but it's always a little annoying to know that if I were to go that rout I'd get 1 attack across the board, better guns, etc. It sours me on the whole thing. My Daemons might be a weaker army in almost every regard, but at least they're still Khorne Daemons.

There is a searchable pdf that was ran through ocr, you will have to do some digging though, I believe it's frowned uponto share here.

Otherwise there's the basic ruleset on the GW site.

I already have the new codex and on the first pages there is a map which shows a lot of warzones in the imperium with a lot of different chapters... 4 crusade fleets are involved.

1 between cadia and Armageddon

1 close to vigilus (but not a part of it I think

1 in gesmentujms tempestus with the Fulminators

1 (in the map up in the right corner) where Sisters and Tau are involved.

Nice. Please share fluff and cool bits.

Just to add my dudes, supplement might not be as farfetched as we think.

I got another reliable dude saying and I quote:

"I can see a BT supplement coming up at some point"

What does a BT army look like in 9th edition? Here is what I’m building (not super tournament competitive but good enough for local weekly leagues etc).

Objective grabber upfield: Primaris Chaplain on bike plus 2 squads outriders

Objective grabber mid-field: indomitus captain, bladeguard in Impulsor

Objective grabber (as needed): assault Intercessors in Impulsor. This is the weakest of my mobile units so will need to take care where they go.

Back field holders: 2 squads of Intercessors

Mobile fire base: 2 shooty venerable and 1 Redemptor dread supported by tech marine

Anti-armour as required: 2 x squads of 3 eradicators coming in from SR.

Would be interested to see what others have planned.

I will field at least 12 Bladeguards, 1 company veterans and 1 apo with crusader helmet and +3" from a litany so that I have a 9" FnP Bubble. I think Helbrecht is good but not an autotake anymore. The whole problem I have is to decide which Troopchoice is the best.

And not to forget .... Vanguard Vets at least 1 squad of 10 I think. If they are one time in combat its hard for enemies to escape us and we can play the "hopping out and devot push in" game from one unit to another.

And I think we should never go out without a Dreadnought too.

The Elite Section is sooooo full of wonderful units:

Assault Terminators, Vanguard Veterans, Bladeguard Veterans, Company veterans (no slot with a captain), (Chief-) Apo (no slot with a company veteran squad), Chapter Ancient --> WL trait what makes one unit ObSec (and again no slot if there is a company vetran squad), each dreadnought.

Imho actually, best troops choice seems incursors :

-Objective secure

-High mobility, due to concealed position, guerrilla tactics, and lord of deceit stratagem.

- Cheap.

- Haywire mine, to discourage some charges.

- AP-1 Knives

-smokescreen keyword.

Without getting into points, here's my general idea what I want to try out once I'm able to start playing at 2k:

HQ

Primaris Captain- Buff Crusader Squads and home base Intercessors, kill things that get too close

Primaris Master of Sanctity- Buff Crusader squads or intercessors with 5+ ignore damage, not sure what the other litany will be yet, might stay with Fervent Acclimation.

Primaris Biker Chaplain- Turn 1 use the strat to auto cast re-roll hit rolls if needed, turbo boost to keep up with bladeguard. Turn 2 get into position and use +2 to charges.

Troops

2 Crusader squads with 7 or 8 initiates, 3 or 2 neophytes for that smokescreen keyword. I plan to give them flexible loadouts like Plasma, Heavy bolters, and Missile Launchers. These operate at mid field and reinforce the Incursors.

2 Incursor squads of 5 for immediate mid field objective pressure.

1 Intercessor squad for occupying the objective closest to the deployment zone- possibly stalker bolters here.

1 Assault Intercessor squad for following up and contesting mid-field, clean up after bladeguard vets.

Elite

5 Bladeguard vets in an Impulsor + Judiciar: Turn 1 bully unit to clear enemy off an objective with Devout Push. Give Sergeant Blade of Judgement if needed. Can be supported by Biker Chaplain for re-rolls if needed. Will likely be focus of enemy return fire and die after they clear objective, Crusaders and Assault Ints will follow up in next turns.

Either Vanguard Veterans or Terminators for a Turn 2 counter punch drop. Terminators will hold the center much better so I may default to them here. Use Biker Chaplain positioning with +2 to charge litany to guarantee a 7'' re rolling charge into target of opportunity.

Heavy

Eradicator squad if enemy is experienced and knows how to optimize. If a more casual/newer player will leave them out and take a different AT option. Possible twin lascannon mortis dread or lascannon + missile venerable dread.

The idea here is to have a good number of troop bodies on the table that can multi task and will be difficult to shift. I can proactively put the 5+ ignore damage litany on one crusader squad, then if the enemy decides to focus fire the other squad I can use the blind grenades from the scouts.

I might even have points left over, but I haven't tried pointing it all out yet. I probably wont until battlescribe updates. What are your guys thoughts?

It's for exactly that reason I've avoided doing Incursors as BT.  Dangling a bone relic or a purity seal off their otherwise smooth/futuristic armor doesn't do it for me.  It's a bit like painting the windows of your Lexus in stained glass and trying to call it authentically gothic.

I already found my list for tournaments

Indomitus Captain Frontline Commander

Indomitus Lieutenant Aurelian shroud

Primaris Chaplain Ancient Breviary - Wise Orator

Incursor

Incursor

Intercessor + Hammer

Company Veterans with chainsword + stormshield

6 Bladeguard

5 Bladeguard

4 Bladeguard

Chief Apo Rites of War - Crusader Helmet

6 Eradicators with 2 MM

3 Eradicators

3 Eradicators

Impulsor with shield dome
