Oh absolutely. To be clear again, no one HAS to go in a particular team (well, except you, Mol!) and it won't make either of the missions impossible in any way. So if you just like the idea of going on one mission over the other, that's a plenty good enough reason!

The above was purely what made sense in my head, but it was very much as taking off my GM hat and just being an interested observer! :D

@Tro: Gah, my memory fails me again!

If I may offer my humble opinion, I think an asymmetrical team will work best here.

Viorda Prime:

  • Holger (As Faceman)
  • Ithan (As BA Baracus)
  • Orphiel (As Colonel Decker)
  • Brynjarr (As a Pilot - so definitely Murdock, but if he has a boarding shield and lots of grenades, that would be real handy in a HIVE).

Three Astartes, maybe another couple of Iron Gods Armsmen.  Low impact footprint, but if we need to bug out, we can hide in the hive.  As a small team we evade better, plus Holger can mix and get out for help.  In my mind this is a low key deployment, we need to be almost invisible.

Secundus needs the firepower and as much heavy armour as possible, and can get away with using it.

Viorda Secundus:

  • Kai (Chop/Guns)
  • Draak (Guns)
  • Decimus (Guns)
  • Vesalius (Meds/Sneak/Ear Collection)
  • S'ynek (Chop)
  • Svelk (Chop/Dems - notice how Dems is just Meds?  Like Manslaughter is just Man Laughter..?)
  • Odysseus (Fly/Chop/Brain Fry)

Could always swap AT and Tro.  Those boys are really flexible ;)

My tuppence.

Thoughts?

Damn, that's a great idea. I hadn't thought of an uneven division at all!

Might want to swap Ithan out? He's hard to hide, and the Secundus team might need his tech knowledge when it comes to the supplies?

...maybe as per Mazer's suggestion but with S'ynek if Sobek fancies it? (That way the A team still gets a combat/stealther type, but B gets the much needed Apothecary?)

Edit: Changed my mind, 7/3 could actually work well...

If you are going A Team then Orphiel must be Hannibal Smith!

If only! :D  He's only 53 Intelligence though...besides Colonel Decker is the bad guy, and in the words of Adam Baldwin "let's be bad guys..."

In the good old counter-insurgency days, Team A would be called "Snatch and Stuff" whereas Team B are "Snatch and Snuff."

But it's up to the lads at the end of the day.  My tuppence has run out on the meter!

Well its 14 more than Draak's got!

Do they add up to 11?

20. I'm double jointed. :cool.:

Now - back on topic! (slaps self as well).

Suffer not the mutant to live!

That's the spirit!

Just don't come crying to me when you want a fast typist!

I am out of likes gentlemen. Fair play to you both. :)

S’ynek would prefer to butcher some battle nuns, but if he gets sent on the other mission he can use his brooding irritation at missing the fun and take it out on some unlucky hivers.

in other words I am cool with whatever.

edit: after thinking it over it makes more sense for me to go on the stealth mission. They will need someone handy in close quarters. Plus I feel Radago could be a bit more subtle than Svelk.

I will add a post to this effect.

Nothing wrong with a Choppy-boi, and that's why I suggested Ithan over Svelk.  Both teams need someone who can get them through locked doors.  Svelk can do that with explosives, Ithan can do it with Tech Use or Security if he has it. Unless Holger has these, we need a locksmith...

And a handsome post it was too, Sobek. :)

Sleep is a commodity in the forces. I don't expect that to have changed in 40K.

Draak has Tech Use +20

I did edit my previous post, but it might have got missed.

After some more thought, I'm cool with a 7/3 split, it just makes sense to minimise your footprint. So good thinking, Mister Rackham! :D

I think Orphiel, Brynjarr and Radago might be the best option rather than Ithan though, as a Servo-arm bearing Techmarine is very hard to disguise as anything else...

But if you do need tech stuff done on Prime, just like in Ep.1 Holger has all manner of tricks up his sleeves...

Sounds fine to me, I suspected Holger might have a few useful attributes.  Orphiel might not be able to heal anyone, but as long as there's a few chemicals lying about, we won't run out of pain suppressant or stimms.

I'm curious as to how stealthy you expect the power-armoured Astartes to be at all - "stealth" on a battlefield and stealth in the middle of a hive city are two very different things! Edited by Commissar Molotov

I'm with Mol, will be interesting to see, since I think I'm on 25% to tiptoe past the Arbites?

What Lysimachus isn't telling the lot going to Viorda is that they have to change into Scout Armour.

I also updated my post in the Story.

Sorry for dropping out. I am catching up on reading your stuff,  it wanted to drop my two pence.

I agree that Ithan is possible not the first choice on being „covert“ in a maze full of mortals.

Also, there is a Combi Plas now :p

Which is good, since I really not agree on the set -up of the A team here… Ithan has such great  hair. He‘d obviously be Face. :p
