there is a rumor that Uphold VOW is a 5++ and transhuman "light" (wounding on max. 3+) but passion seems never get light cover

That seems really good, hopefully turns out to be true.

Lunchbox preorder available very soon, anyone know the pricing for it?

I’m looking at:

-lunchbox

-Helbrecht

- Grimaldus

- sword brethren x 2

I’m going to be sooo sick of magnets by the time I’ve finished building the SB but I want to give myself as many weapon options as possible.

125 (s)quid for uk aparently.

For me, priceless.

Can confirm. Owner of my FLGS posted the pre-orders, it's 200 USD

No Ancient coming. Apparently the one Valrak saw in the supplement was Maxime's converted one, not a released model.

Just means I need to make my own then

I come hanging my head in shame, I am sorry but I was mistaken about the Ancient, this is the one I saw and thought it was a new model, I have been informed that it's a conversation not an actual model, guess I really am a clickbaiter

Its Ok Valrak, there's nothing a couple of years in the Pain Glove cant fix. Except heresy but we have bolters for that.

Well it seems like this release is going to be absolutely awesome, I love every model, some more than others but converting and kit bashing can fix that. So overall Im satisfied and I cant wait to see what new combos and strategies we can come up with, sad that all the playing spaces at stores are closed but c'est la vie.

My shopping list for November is just Helbrecht, Grimaldus, 3x Sword Brethren boxes and an upgrade kit. From the looks of it the SB kit is full of extra goodies so they'll be perfect to kit bash with my extra 10 Assault Intercessor to see what I end up doing with them.

PAINGLOVE PAINGLOVE PAINGLOVE

Too bad GW didn't make that standard bearer. It'd be perfect.

tbh... never liked the gamemechanics (too powerful in 8th) and there already too much of them.

The only thing I wished for (as I expected a new ancient model) was a new named character.

I am not punished for not having that model - especially I prefer the new Castellan way more.

Personally I'm glad that no design space was used for a unique Ancient, but that's because I despise standard bearers with all my heart. 40k might be all about that space fantasy aesthetic but they're still so damn ridiculous to see on the field to me. I was afraid that it'd come out with an insanely cool rule and I'd be stuck between suffering because I'm losing out on a cool rule, or suffering because I'm fielding one.

Problem solved!

Bring back back banners and give us unit standard bearers. We're space knights and should display our colors proudly as a challenge to the enemy.

As someone who doesnt know much about BT what is the difference between Neophytes, Initiates, and Crusaders in terms of equivalent units for general space marine lingo

A Neophyte is an Astarte in training, the term is not unique to us if Im not mistaken but in Codex chapters they are part of the 10th company and so are refered as Scouts. An Initiate is an Astartes and a Crusader is every single Black Templar! CRUSADING IS A WAY OF LIFE!!! But if you meant like a Crusader squad then thats just the normal non-veteran members of the Chapter and they are tasked with training Neophytes.

Crusaders can refer to Crusader squads (made up Initiates (full Battle Brothers) and Neophytes (Battle Brothers in training)) or Land Raider Crusaders.

Or refer to the 11pts ministorum guard guy with a shield and a sword.

2020 was supposed to be a grand return to having an actual army for me, it's been around 25 years since I actually painted anything!  I was 50, my sons were 21 and 18 and plans were laid to have collected and painted 1000pts of our chosen faction. Alas Covid hit, lockdowns occurred, online retailers sold out of things needed to get the project started.

So into 2021 things improved, still couldn't get everything so won't hit having an army for my 51st, but it has been a good wait! Codex Armageddon introduce my two favourite Marine chapters in The Black Templars (Still have the original Emperor's Champion boxed in packaging in the loft somewhere lol) and Salamanders. My sons have chosen to do a Death Guard terminator army and a Thousand Sons army and this release means that heretic burning and witch slaying will be highly appropriate!

The release of the launch box has fallen nicely on my day off so I will be getting the launch box so that righteous zeal and heretic purging can begin!

Here's looking forward to 2022 and actually having an army again!
