Well Mr Greebly isn't on the Initiative Track, so we just head off to our rendezvous

True dat.

In Structured Time, so move rates etc are required, but there is an allowance for "forced marching." (IE you can double your highest move rate)

Guys, the reason I'm letting you move around is to allow some RP to react to what happened, as MG did, and to allow you to get into an order of march.

I suggest you take the opportunity...

On order of march, I'd suggest Arcturion and Luthais at the front, as they're CC only, then Nergui and Korvaan as they have range too, then Philemon can be rearguard, where he has room to torch anything that rushes along the corridor behind us?

Unless you think he should lead from the front?

So, thinking up a White Scare derived Wolf Priestesque storyteller healer Chaplain is easy. Actually playing and writing his dialogue I am finding way way harder. Havent quite found his voice yet, nor the words. Hence all the rather short fluff bits implying he is doing chaplain rhetoric stuff instead of actually having it spoken.

Nice stuff gents.

Tro, I think I understand how you mean - the concept is easy to realise but difficult to fulfil. There's a lot of layers to him you can explore, you've got a nice post there reflecting on how he fits into and supports the group. Perhaps explore his storyteller more - if you've ever seen Transformers the Movie (1986) there's a character called Kup, who tells tall war stories to reassure and entertain his comrades. This could work well with tension diffusion - when the squad face fearsome enemies, perhaps suffer a reversal in fortunes, or a defeat.

I think though this is a process that will come out over time - since the kill team are fairly new to each other.  Perhaps knowing of the lost brethren of the Blood Angels (you'll have to know something of each Chapter - their rites etc, so it isn't metagaming) you would worry about Arcturion.

You're a healer too, so there's a lot to delve and some traits will come out as dominant, whilst the others subside.

Just my thoughts.

Hmm, do we want to reroll our Initiatives? At the moment, the big problem is Arcturion being at the front but last to act, which could potentially cause a little bit of a blockage...?

Trouble is, if we reroll it could be even more unhelpful?

I'm very tempted to have Philemon set fire to the ventilation shafts as he goes past, as I suspect gribbly stuff is going to start pouring out of them in a minute...

Mazer - How many hours have elapsed since we started the Mission?

Hours? I thought we are delaing in minutes here. even with the skip ahead on account of map issues in my head i was in the 40 +/- 15 minute range. did i miss something?

Edit: I am inclined for an iniative reroll, the stealers are likly to be ahead of us regardless, but an order more suited to our postion might be of use, and if the dice say no then we will deal with it just as if we had not.

Mission elapsed time is difficult to say with travel over the hulk, various obstacles could have slowed you, whilst open areas meant you could run.

There are also pockets of time dilation caused by warp exposure and residual contamination, which will have thrown your chronometers off.

From the emergency rally call it has been about 40 minutes (you've been hurrying where possible), whilst the combat has lasted about 5ish minutes with travel and action.

EDIT: Tro pretty much has it, but it certainly could feel like hours.

I'm fine with a re-roll of Initiative.

Mazer - So it's hours until Korvaan's Armour Monger runs out then.

Yes, this was a Vangaurd Strike mission, which by definition is short duration. I never envisioned it going very long - however, other missions will be long range and time consuming, so it's not wasted to pop it off.

So is this a Maybe?

Votes so far for an Initiative Re-Roll:

Trokair.

Necronaut.

Yep, sorry, I'm in agreement with rerolling!

Initiative: Ag3 +1(Armour History) +2(SigWM effect) +4(d10) = 10.

Hmm, ideally I could have done with being further down the order... but went up 1 instead. Ho hum.

Ah well, hopefully those at the front will roll better!

Edit @Necro: nope, you're good! I think MG put half his XP into Ag Advancements?

Correct - For Korvaan I allocated 50 pts to Agility and then chose Indomitus Armour with 'A Fury like Lightning' Armour History which gives +5 AGL and +1 to Initiative. I then spent 4250 XP on Three Agility Advancements so that I could offset the -20 AGL Modifier that Terminator Armour gives.
