@Lysimachus, just as a reminder, the Penitent, who I have named thus to make it easier to refer to him in the OOC and GM posts hasn't actually introduced himself yet, nor interacted with anyone save an NPC (Valkyrie). Have fun coming up with a witty nickname for him. ;)

The Impenitent.

These are also acceptable. Enjoy.

Aw, man. MSFT3K This very episode has spawned legends among my mates. There's a guy across the road called Brent, and I don't know his last name, and now no-one else does either because people keep calling him Mr Brockwood...

I think Reynard was thinking that if the second question everyone asks (or at least thinks) when they meet you is "Wow, what did you do wrong?", that may be problematic if you're trying to appear to be a good, law-abiding Imperial citizen…

But having said that, it now seems there are definitely names - such as Axel McMurderchops - that might cause much more worry to Damocles' general population?

And I guess if you're Penitent, you might have done terrible things… but at least you're sorry about having done them?

He's quite clearly the Ayatola of Rock 'N Rolla

Just saying that makes you the Earl of Funk, the Prince of Punk - or the Duke of Cool....

I love that film - and in a related note, I know US Marine Corps Gunnery Sergeant, and he's called Brent (and loves the film too).

I leaned that "How High?" is apparently acceptable as a term of address for such a chap.

Ok, cheers AT.

Lander:

  • Reynard
  • Penitent
  • Restal

Train:

  • Nicios
  • Falk
  • Bardas

Just need to know where Stitches wants to go (apologies if I missed it).

So is it just us 7 players?  A little while back there was talk of potential additional players?

There was, but now we will be concentrating on the current roster.

Proposed names for The Penitent:

  • Axel McMurderchops
  • Helmut McSlaughterbain
  • Cleaver McBloodyboots

Each comes complete with entrance music and spandex.

I assumed he was known as the Silent Knight...

Cheers Beren.

So, three illustrious passengers on the lander, and four, hard-working lads, on the train.

I'll let anyone drop in response posts, or boarding or what-have you.

Voyager will be piloting the lander, otherwise, the train riders will be escorted to an unmapped rail station where they'll enter an empty carriage.

Are we heading out the same evening as we arived/had the briefing, or is it early the next morning?

I'm working on the premise of it being the same evening, but if players want to wait for the morning (for rest or whatever), that is acceptable and I can manage that without any changes.

I won't penalise the players for waiting, if they wish, and assume that 14 days deadline starts at 0000Hrs the day you go out.

No worries - it's about two, maybe three hours (with all the prep etc) since you entered the Vault (the facility).

My original plan was to have you arrive in the Hive at midnight, for dramatic and practical reasons, but it's malleable.

Because that’s not suspicious at all...

Is the train some kind of private inquisition vehicle, a pubic train, some form of cargo transport?

There are two trains, both mechanicum operated.  They are mixed carriage, coming in from Hive Secundus and out of Primus (you came out on this one). Both carry worker menials, trading house reps, etc. They also carry freight, supplies and other goods.

A private cabin in the fifth carriage will be forced open for exactly five seconds for your entry as it comes through (the train is not meant to stop, but it must slow to navigate the platform). A Challenging (+0) Agility Test will get you aboard.

Mind the gap.

With a 16, Nicios also barely manages to pass through the door. (D10 wobbled between a 8 and 1, luckily landed on the 1)
