Warhammer Preview - NOVA Open 2023

Recommended Posts

I have to say that I was skeptical about the new design of the Mk. III, but they're looking pretty sexy in that preview picture!  Was there any information on the stream about their sprues?  It looks like the squad is a 2x 5-man sprue like the Mk. VI.  And the sergeant's powerfist, plasma pistol, and helmet crest, and the backpack vexilla and vox are the same as the Mk. VI too.  Did they mention if the Mk. VI accessory sprue will be re-used?  Anything about alternative heads without spikes?

The way they described it, it's the same special weapons sprue as the MKVI, shame Valrak's rumour about heavy weapon sprues was wrong, I'm sure these will look nice with the current sprues, but I kinda wanted some other patterns to play with too.

Fulgrim ...urk it's resin... & 30K ... oh well , next...  Edit- At least  Morathi has a boyfriend Now

I do like the new Company heroes and Assault marines, the new Chaplain is understated and I like that...he now does not look like a mobile Toilet roll Holder  .

I think so too, and honestly I'm getting a bit bored with all the Heresy specialist games. There is more to the setting than a 9 year period of civil war, and I am far more interested in seeing Xenos opponents and the more corrupt visage of traitor Astartes in the 41st millenium.

See, I think it would be a 40K era Battlefleet (and I'd hope so!) but would love them to then release a HH expansion/ruleset.

Because whilst the HH is the setting I'm interested in, Battlefleet was a 40K game and I think it deserves to be. Yes, being set in the Heresy would make it easier to put out a starter box that would tempt people to build a bigger fleet but I think it would be better for the game to start in the 40K era.

So I guess we're not getting EC in 40K for some time – would be weird to release another model that's largely the same but in plastic.

That said, what an absolutely stunning piece of artwork. It looks as fragile and fiddly as can be – those wings look so easy to snap off – but wow that really moves the ball forward and will launch a host of EC armies in 30K.

I really wish Games Workshop would read the room a bit here, tbh.

First time since like Rogue Trader era that we've got a Daemon Fulgrim miniature, and the Emperor's Children are the only Cult Marines still left in the main CSM Codex, they show us the new mini and then it's for Horus Heresy that already has a Fulgrim mini and it's Resin, so will probably cost like £450 or something.

Really not showing they know what the fans want, huh?

You know full well it's gonna be broken in the packaging 100%

Man, this opens a massive can of worms. I don't mind resin as much as others, that being said, they should have just come out with Fulgrim in plastic/for 40k and then stated all the 40k daemon primarchs are the 30k transfigured or ascended or whatever they are going to call them..

This is gonna get real weird real quick; and weird in ways that even Fulgrim would blush
