So what's the current scuttlebutt for the additions to the Marine range?

  • Jump pack assault marine type unit (looks like SM2 design)?
  • Multipart Terminators?
  • Multipart Sternguard?
  • Bike Captain?

That's what I can remember but hopefully there'e more? I'm a fan of tanks so would love to see something new there.

A couple of surprises would be very welcome and a new tank would be a good fit (I imagine they'd like something big to show off). I'd be quite happy to see Gravis Lt and Ancient though.

Not necessarily. I dont have to flip a coin to know that there's a 50% chance it will land on heads. Things can be predicted through modelling beforehand, like the weather. The point is, that we do not have a single, recorded instance in the literature of a procedure failing, which means while theoretically, there's a 61.6 chance of success, practically, there's a 100% chance of success.

I'd be pretty bummed if I bought a book that looked like a normal sized book, but in the first chapter, the main character dies during surgery, and then that's the end of the story.

Hence why they don't do that.  It's boring, not interesting, and won't sell.

Finally someone gets it.

IA will forever be the cool side of the hobby.

It seems like the more grounded pseudo-realistic side of the lore that was reflected in Imperial Armor has been relegated to Horus Heresy, with 40k trying to chase the Marvel aesthetic. It’s ironic because primarchs are more or less superheroes, and, if anything, it should be the reverse and HH should be the superhero age, but here we are.

It’s a real shame. The Badab War lore from IA is probably my favorite piece of 40k lore ever written. If they ever did a Badab War sub-game when Heresy is “done” I would be very tempted.

Accompanied by the message:

"What's the second thing you think of when you see this picture?"

First thing is Spacehulk... second thing.. is actually still spacehulk XD

I mean it probably teases MPK terminators/the marine release wave, but the left part (in combo with right) only says spacehulk :p

Space Hulk would be the obvious one, but I'll admit, seeing the ships themselves did make me think Battlefleet Gothic, I mean... they're bringing back epic more or less, why not bring back the cool spaceship game too.

Yes, but not even a side or background character or  has died during it. Even a mention of "Astartes was tense before the surgery. His former captain aquilion had undergone a forced crossing of the rubicon and not emerged from the other side" gives evidence for the procedure having failed. It adds tension to the procedure, which is less boring and more interesting.

My excitement for Battlefleet Gothic is heavily tempered by the expectation it would probably be Battlefleet Heresy and it'd just be the same set of models for both sides again, just Like Titanicus and now Legions Imperialis.

I want Eldar GW, not Imperial Navy x2

It would seem crazy to announce battle fleet right when Legions Imperialis is coming out. Even if that was meant to be released already. I guess they might be hinting at Space Hulk but I' not holding my breath, I'd just like to see the new Termie MPK and hopefully Assault Termies.

Much as I would love it, it won't be BFG. They're already pushing the limits with Legions Imperalis, HH, KT, Necromunda and 40k (and that's just on the 40k side) - I can't see them announcing a new game before LI has even launched, plus they've got The Old World and (presumably) 4th Ed AoS coming next year.

Could be some KT Gallowdark terrain, the new Genestealers and Terminators in a "Space Hulk" box with some missions though. No need to design anything else modelwise, just throw together some missions and call it good.

I think so too, and honestly I'm getting a bit bored with all the Heresy specialist games. There is more to the setting than a 9 year period of civil war, and I am far more interested in seeing Xenos opponents and the more corrupt visage of traitor Astartes in the 41st millenium.
