Is it just me or has there been another massive retcon?

I always thought that I had read that when Ferrus Manus died that it caused a psychic shriek to echo through the Iron Hands so that they knew that he had died and how it had happened.

Just like with Sanguinus.

Now there's nothing in Lexicanum about it.

Or even the psychic shriek legionwide after Sanguinas' death too.

I did have a quick trawl around and the only mention I could find was on the Fandom Wiki, which, due to a lack of citation, is notorious for, uh invention.

It seems to be bound up with the origins of Kardan Stronos, so maybe look there for it?

I don't remember this for the IH, but that doesn't mean much, I could very easily have missed it.

I guess even if it's not official any more, it's still the sort of thing a (not) Librarian might experience?

When in doubt, I’d suggest going through the Black Books themselves.
Maybe it’s in the  narrative sections, which are often more detailed in their descriptions than the condensed info from the Legon Sections ?

You could play into the 'current' sus-an coma being a result of Manus' death at the end of the one-shot, if you wish.

Please note the adventure will likely be fairly short.

@Mazer Rackham - That is a great idea.

Tactical Sergeant Ashmon - Clan Vurgaan.

The Legion abided by the Edict of Nikaea, his Clan had retrained him as a Tactical Sergeant provided that he stayed true to the rules. He let them repaint his Blue Tilt Plate to Black, his sword if not fed power was in all intents and purposes just a Power Sword.

After the Event and withdrawing, existence within the Urgall Depression changed the parameters. Why should he be fettered when no one else was? The mud of the bloodied sands caked his armour and at the same time abraded the black for blue, only for it to be recovered.

He'd thought himself free, but he had received a Mission over Vox. Command Idents were nominally correct.

Cautiously he headed to rendezvous with the unit.

Changed XP spend and added Unnatural Stats

Since this is a one-shot I could, alternatively, throw together a Salamanders apothecary or tac marine or somesuch instead, since we are over represented with regards to techmarines (even if they are quite different character builds).

Kind of Ninja’d here :whistling:

Well lads, you need to choose.

Because I'm feeling lazy, er, very busy in this season of goodwill, I'll let you boys have another couple of days - but please lock it down by Wednesday 2300 GMT, at the latest, ok?

@Necronaut Well they're having lunch at 1800, followed by a few rounds of celebrity crazy golf, back to the office for peasantry defenestration, and finishing at 2100 CEST, so you've got time.

Pull up a Sand Bag...

Hurry up!

And.....

Wait!

Well, this is going to be   called the Urgall Depression for a reason :whistling:

Edit:

While the sleeping dragon that is the idea of having a pyromaniac Salamander keeps stirring, I think I ‘ ll leave the field to Necronaut and stick to the Iron Tenth.

(Dips on anything upcoming including TS or NL characters though

In the interest of not stealing anyone's thunder, and on the topic of depression, I was thinking maybe why not instead make an Iron Hands Apothecary by the name of Brother Lysander. Because who needs variety when you can have extra sads because space dad is dead? Unless we think that's too many Iron Hands in one party (I like a strong theme), in which case we can just stick with what we have. It doesn't really matter to me so much.

Stats, xp spend and gear to follow, pending Mazer's (grudging) approval.

Edit: I keep sitting down to try to write and keep getting interrupted. Will send everything over once the chapter serfs (children) have been sedated.

Good grief.

It's WARhammer, not WOEhammer!

*takes up drinking*.

Scratch that: we're going with a Libators apothecary now. Time for some BOOZEhammer!

Edit: joking aside why don't I just convert my techmarine over to being an RG tac or assault marine so we're not stepping on each others toes? I'm not bothered either way whether my character sees any action in A Time of Reiving.
