Anyway, my one big complaint with all of this is that it's gonna be so bloody expensive to buy an army of these new minis. The box set is gonna be scalped immediately and listed up on eBay for 9x the price within an half an hour of the pre-orders opening up, mark my words. This is an intentional misunderstanding of what people want. It is possible for there to be political elements to a work of fiction without beating you over the head with them, telling you you're a bad person if you don't agree with the author's chosen political beliefs, or eclipsing the actual narrative of the fiction. Furthermore it's entirely achievable to write fiction that features in-universe political intrigue or whatever without it being an allegory for real-world political ideology. There's also the fact that a lot of the particular political views being pushed in this sort of thing are abhorrent to a very large amount of people, and that the way they are pushed is often completely cringeworthy to behold. See Mike Brooks throwing in a villainous character almost letter for letter named after a YouTuber he doesn't like. (Said YouTuber thought it was hilarious, by the way.) I think it's easiest to see on this image of the sentinels. It is however very subtle, even on close ups like these and will be even harder to tell on the tabletop. The angles make it hard for me to tell if the dimensions are actually different; calves have more depth than shins have width. The armors themselves don't have any dimorphism, unlike Stormcast. Then there's the whole thing where the heads are separate and can could go on any of the bodies. We've seen how that was handled with Cadian Shock Troops and Tempestus Aquilons; they don't have any dimorphism across the bodies. Zoatibix
For me, the change to offical lady Custodes is a smaller retcon than other changes. Old ‘stodes talking the equivalent of The Long Walk turned into management of galactic spy networks. Never leaving the Sol System…they’re all over the place. Gaining the equivalent of chapters with subfactions, armour colours. These seem like bigger changes but I guess they were something folks wanted, so those retcons were acceptable? roryokane, Indy Techwisp, Roomsky and 16 others 2 1 15 1 Back to top Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/387438-plastic-legio-custodes-battlegroup-coronus-grav-carrier-venatari-liber/page/15/#findComment-6152531 Share on other sites
