Actually, it seems armageddon has been cloned on the map

Hard to believe how worse the maps got over the ages. I was trying to compare it to the old Chapter homeworld map. Some of the world locations were shifted and it was hard to spot some planets. Glad I wasn't just imagining things.

That was limited to a couple of retailers.  It’s not an indication it sold badly.

I guess anecdotal, but for my local and several stores that I have shopped around at, there is still a decent stock of that box around, all of which have been there since launch from I know. It certainly did not do nearly as well as the initial 2nd edition box. Dominion and Skaventide were also definitely over produced.

I was pleasantly surprised that US GW queue was smooth and easily purchased a box. Then went to Miniature Market and bought an additional box no problem. The unnecessary stress prior was annoying, but everything today was coming up Milhouse.

Not wanting the stress of waiting for nothing I did an online retailer at midnight. Saved some coin, free shipping, and little stress.

There is no local store in my area to support, and paying full price when you don't need to is foolish.

I'll be swapping halfsies with a mate that plays Orks. Double speeder trouble here I come. Might snap up a spare when I list the duplicate characters in eBay.

Saturnine's not a FOMO box, it's an old fashioned 'this is meant to stick around all edition' set. They weren't giving it away for free at Adepticon last year at least, which is probably an indication it didn't do too badly (compared to Dominion and Skaventide at least).

Waaagh! Bork is my new favourite.  All these grandiose titles, and there's some Warboss stomping around just called 'Bork'.  Beautiful.

I'm trying to envision what an Ork that sounds like Swedish Chef would sound like, and I'm very disappointed to say I can't quite do it. Someone get DreadAnon on it.

There was a group of battle reports around January 2008 iirc that had waaagh Bork in it with narrative scenarios. Great days.

WARHAMMER 40K: CORE RULES - £15.00
WH40K: CHAPTER APPROVED MISSION DECK ENG - £20.50
WH40K: DOMINATUS - ARMAGEDDON (ENGLISH)- - £20.50
WARHAMMER 40000: TERRAIN AREA SET - £18.75
COMBAT PATROL COMPANION (ENGLISH)- £20.50

£15 for the core rules seems crazy - I get they are free online anyway, but when so much the rules are missing from it and only available on the app, it seems a crazy price.

I'm not being funny but for years people have asked for the rules to be separate from the fluff. They've done that and cut it back hugely. £15 hardly seems bad.

What would you consider reasonable?...

What's missing from the book?

From what I have been told the core rulebook is missing about 20 rules referenced in the book. Stuff like Go to ground and Healing were two that were mentioned to me.

How true this is I honestly don't know, this is second hand info from people I know who are more invested in 11th.

I think the confusion comes from the PDF GW released missing those things.

To my understanding the pdf is the same as the physical book (People on youtube did a review of the book and it seems the same). The missing rules are referenced in the pdf in side notes telling the reader to check them in the warhammer app. Whatever those rules will be free or paywalled in the app they didn't said, but I think they will be free, like 10th edition core rules were free. It seems GW needs to increase the app user base to show good numbers in the next shareholders report.

Honestly this is the same as 10th edition, the core rules are free, and to play you just need to buy the current season mission cards and have the codex of the army and that's it. The hardback rules book wasn't needed.

Doing GW currency exchange, the core rules are 25 usd, and the card decks 35 usd. That seems fine.

I seem to recall the 10th edition rule book being invalid even before we it was released? Then the mission cards in 10th also being wrong if they were ordered outside of the box. It was the reason I never bothered with 10th edition as I don't like using tablets or smart phones when playing a miniatures wargame.
Is 11th going to require downloads to play the game then?

If it is I'll stick to Necromunda....
