Basically this means the BA bolt-on detachments are irrelevant unless you are playing Onslaught. They really don't want you combining it with anything else because it can probably end up being a bit nutty. I'm sure if you talked to your opponent ahead of time and said "Hey I want to play LAG." they probably won't care. redmapa Posted June 8 Share Posted June 8 Im so glad Orbital :cuss: is a 2dp, I can just mix that plus Marshall's Household so my Bladeguard+Sword Brethren list is still works! Also Emperors Champion kept his devastating wounds vs characters so the detachment isn't a must have imo. Black templars may still be flavorful yet crappy but I can work with this. You're only locked out of 1000 point games being played at a GW officially sanctioned event. For everything else, there is "Talk to the person you're spending 3-4 hours with". It's not that big of a deal and I can't imagine many people having much of an issue. If they're not and we're getting the DP from the MFM like the unit points, that definitely points towards DP being a flexible number. Maybe if comp BA armies diversify away from LAG (or some other BA combo makes LAG look tame in comparison) LAG might drop down to 2dp. I forgor. No, ever since 10th edition introduced the "one in, one out" rule, we just get 1 Faction ability and 1 Detachment ability. I can see why as it stops crazy ability stacking but it still feels weird to play Blood Angels in non-LAG detachments without Red Thirst. One thing to note is that it is rumoured that Marines will be loosing OOM in the new codex and getting Doctrines back as the default ability instead (and presumably Gladius being dropped or reworked to do something else). This could pair nicely with Legacy of Grace as +1" Advance and +1" Charge will pair nicely with Advance + Charge in the Assault Doctrine.
