Yes, we’ll have another Gretchin to show you each day this week! Plus, make sure you join us on Friday, as we’re capping off Grot Week with a full unboxing of Warhammer 40,000: Armageddon.**

Grot looks quite nice, though it's a shame they're going away from the old Grot/Goblin sculpting style. Glad to see them revealing the rest of Armageddon this week, drip feeding gets tiresome after some time.

Idk what you mean, looks like a space goblin to me.

Love how it's a little recreation of the old 3rd edition Grots

That would be a second ed grot. The third Ed ones were all metal and different design style.

However, new grot definitely tickles the nostalgia box.

Yeah I realised I'd put the wrong number ed straight after haha.

I like it but I actually prefer the 2nd edition one.

The temptation is with this edition is to go Goblin Green and flock for the bases for the nostalgia!

As a side not I'm really not sure what happened to all my 2nd edition orks. I should have loads of them on sprues somewhere but no idea where they went over the years.

Hard to get excited without price and knowing in three years we will just be back here again.

In fairness, I'm excited for the orks. The minis I've seen so far are lovely and regardless of rules, awesome minis are always awesome regardless.

Gravis heavy bolter dudes on the side, looks like they've got gunshields which is a strange thing for someone in even heavier power armour to have...

I quite like it. The HB guy from the Company Heroes set has one as well.

Hopefully, since they'll have to talk at least a bit about the rulebook in the box, they'll finally confirm for us whether or not Crusade will survive. It's literally the only thing I care about until either Sisters, Drukhari, Aeldari or GSC come. I'm not a big enough fan of Marines or Orks to be terribly excited for this... But if I learn the fate of Crusade, that goes a long way to determining my level of engagement with this edition.

I agree with you on that, but the newer grots and goblins in 40k and AoS seem to be going for a shorter and sharper nose in contrast to the longer noses of previous goblin sculpts. This is a small detail but one I feel does change the overall grot aesthetic.

They've gone towards the evil gremlin aesthetic over the cartoony snot monster aesthetic.

2nd ed metals were smiling and grinning and waving their bannas all over the place, with warty faces and dumb expressions.

Now they are sneering and actually aiming their weapons and their face is more avian so as to suggest cunning rather than hod carriers for bigger boyz.

I prefer the older types - they were a small funny sidebar to a completely violent but unserious faction, a bit like Ratlings or Ogryns for the Imperial Guard who were funny in a disciplined faction, but these are fine.
