jaxom
Another thing to consider is that the “have nots” do have the benefits of 10th codex writing. They may have more powerful stratagems, better combos, more powerful detachment rules, and greater synergies within one or more detachments. It felt so strange that I didn't comment, because I frankly don't trust the Warhammer Community team. Glad they do have a bespoke detachment! Rhavien
So the vanguard veterans do indeed carry combat shields which only grant a 5+ invuln. The squad from the Armageddon box still feels suboptimal though. Especially as you can have three plasma pistols per 5 guys if you leave the shields at home. I don't get it why GW always puts subpar loadouts into their boxes (yah I know. To sell us the later release). We have been in the "all upgrades are free" epoch for a while now and there is zero reason to not put two aux launchers into the intercessors for example. That leaves 2 out of 13 that are of unknown mark at the moment. I made sure to check their bolters for the location of the magazine release to confirm they are images of the new Intercessors. dammit i just wrote up a post in the other thread on this, lol. Orange Knight
I finally had a chance to look over the codex and synergies in more details in my own time. Obviously the Ultramarines are very good, but another chapter is coming out as big winners; the White Scars. Both of their characters are good, and Outrider units are a lot more impressive and reliably fast. There are some combinations that can make very fun units, including giving an Outrider Captain or Chaplain the upgrade "Imperim's Sword" which becomes a damage 4 weapon when they lead a unit. Suboden is excellent. He grants a unit the Mobile keyword. It means that his Outrider unit can disengage from combat at the end of a fight phase and retreat behind cover somewhere so they can hide in the following shooting phase. I expanded the cut out on the receiver Stalker Pattern receiver and glued a magazine from a regular bolt rifle receiver. It's a little messy because it's my first attempt at doing this, but I have to say the prospect of doing this 40 more times doesn't feel all that exciting. I think I'll wait to see if the receivers on the new Intercessors are separate and I'll just get 50 of those if they are. It works, but you have to be really precise or else the magazine will look a bit bent to the side. There's also a small gap in the receiver casing that looks really annoying to fill. I might just forget about all this and build my bolters as they are. I've already made carbines with the default receiver before. Thank you for sharing. No problem. You have to create a rail extension to cover a gap on the top when you convert the bolt carbines into Godwyn Pattern bolters. Usually a tiny bit of plasticard or leftover plastic from any bolt rifle. That's the blue part you see on the second conversion. The Imperialis or Aquila symbol is taken from an easy to build bolt rifle, the front end of the rifle was cut in half and then sanded on a sanding board until everything except the Aquila was gone. It was grafted onto the bolt carbine using Mr.Cement S, the fast drying low viscosity variety. Tamiya Extra Thin or other plastic glues are too aggressive for this sort of detail. phandaal and BrotherCaptainArkhan 1 1 Back to top Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/388419-codex-space-marines-multi-part-intercessor-vanguard-vet-teaser-legends-culling/page/47/#findComment-6187518 Share on other sites
