    Jagieŀŀo inspects their prizes

    By GSCUprising

The Resistance have finally captured the war machines they believe they require to make their stand.   Brutus, the Malcador, reliable, dependable the spine of their battleline. She will not fail them. She will hold the line, her battlecannon roaring, her sponsons blazing as she paves the way for the Resistance's advance. The Iron Duke, his twin Earthshaker cannons blasting holes in the enemy's fortifications. He guards those retreating and the wounded behind his massive blast shield

    Square Pants Bob

    By Bouargh

Hi Folks,   Today’s blog entry is a little bit specific as it deals with something different from my usual inputs: instead of reporting hobbying progress, I will talk about a trail I did for a new technique (à la TITH – i.e. something that is not new in general but new for me).     The technique is often reported on purpose of adding details and create battle damages or war-torn marks on miniatures. But beyond painting damages, the sponge might be used on purpose of

    XIVth Legion build

    By W.A.Rorie

So am I back from Indiana. I have to head back to move In-Laws into a Retirement Center, in a few weeks. And of course everything goes sideways at work moment I get back. So hobby time has been non existence. Silver Lining is LGS not get Saturnine until Monday, so I can get everything I need to do first i.e. my XIXth Legion and Exorcists  Call to Arms Vows, that I have not started. And won't have time this weekend.   I did start on building one of My XIVth Legion Commanders, not sure w

    Wrapping Wreckas

    By zulu.tango

Hit the throttle on the Wreckas last week. I've been painting pretty slowly this year all things considered, decided to change that with this project. Finished up free-hand on a few items, got the squigs painted up, did the bases and oil washes last week resulting in a final project I'm pretty happy with!    I dug out some of the leftover terrain bits I had from the sector imperialis/Chalnath terrain. I put a fine terrain paste around those bits and then put in some sand to act as larg

"We are at War with forces too terrible to comprehend......."

"We cannot afford mercy for any of its victims too weak to take the correct course. Mercy destroys us; it weakens us and saps our resolve. Put aside all such thoughts. They are not worthy of Inquisitors in the service of Our Emperor. Praise His name for in our resolve we only reflect his purpose of will."   The Book of Exorcisms, the Verses of Inquisitor Enoch     This past weekend, I had 2 games with my Grey Knights against Emperor's Children (win) but tabled and

The Exorcists- Enochian Guard

The Enochian Guard is an elite formation of Orisons* in the Exorcists Chapter. Making up the Veterans of the Chapter's 1st Company, they typically are equipped with Terminator Armour. The Guard is named after Enoch Trismegistus, the Exorcists very first Chapter Master. The Enochian Guard pride themselves on being Daemon slayers, and membership to its numbers carries a requirement of having slain a manifested Daemon in single combat.   So I keep running the idea of running Exorcist

"After a period of recuperation,...."

"....the subjects were instructed in the methods of combating the Daemonic, trained in the use of the 666 verses of the Book of Exorcisms and equipped with the weapons of an Exorcist. The two companies were then put into action on a Daemon-infested world on the northern fringes of the Eye of Terror. With a squad of the Grey Knights held in reserve, the Exorcist Space Marines achieved a kill ratio of 97:1. Impressive under normal circumstances, but against the Daemonic, I'm sure you'll agree that

Index Astartes: Inferno Wardens

To: ++ Inquisition Clearance Insufficient ++   From: ++ Inquisition Clearance Insufficient ++   Date: 029.M36   Subject: Adeptus Astartes, Inferno Wardens Chapter   Thought for the day: Pray for the future to vindicate your actions.   Honoured Lord, I have concluded my researches into the Inferno Wardens chapter of the Adeptus Astartes as you ordered. As you know, the records of the chapter are scant and appear to be heavily guarded. It has taken

The Inferno Wardens Chapter

My third foray into DIY chapter creation was the Inferno Wardens chapter. This grew out of a long-simmering concept about creating a chapter based on the Space Wolves rules, and it was impelled by @Greyall's challenge to members to present a character from their DIY chapter, with the winning entry being awarded a drawing (Greyall was/is an artist with a distinctive style). That challenge was posed 13 years ago today and can be seen here.   What follows is a summary of the development p

Shadows in the Void 2025 Kill Team - Quæstors Assemble!

I'll be using the Legionary Kill Team (gasp!) to represent my very loyal Fire Claws Adeptus Astartes kill team. There are three main reasons for this: No Primaris. It's not that I'm against Primaris. It's just that I'm representing a kill team from the Chapter prior to the introduction of Primaris. Librarians. The Fire Claws are known for having a large and influential Librarium and I want to include a battle-psyker in my kill team. Daemon weapons. The Fire Claws collect and,

The Relictors are dead! Long live the Fire Claws!

Since I'm working on a kill team for the Knives in the Shadows 2025 challenge (you can enter the challenge here, and since that challenge requires me to provide some background, I felt it appropriate to discuss the reasoning behind my (poor?) choices.   If you examine my pledge in that challenge, you'll see that I committed myself to a kill team from the Fire Claws Chapter. Most of you will probably recognize that name, and many of you may know that it is the original (?) n

"By my heart I spurn thee..."

Well another weekend has come and gone and well I got more done on my Exorcists.      I really need to get cracking on my 12 Months of Hobby Vow, but work has been disagreeing with my hobby time....along with waiting on bases to arrive (expected this week) so hopefully I can crank out the 6 Death Watch kill team members and do an easy scheme on the Necrons.

By my will I deny thee......

So I finally started working on my Exorcists Angel of Death Kill Team as part of my Knives in the Shadows vow,     Previously on my Exorcists I used Rub and Buff metallic paint/ wax buff.  This time the models are being primed Army Painter Matte Black then sprayed with Plate Mail Metal.  Once dried a mixture of Speedpaint 2.0 Medium and Carmine Dragon 1:2 mixture applying to the armor.      the color seemsto be a shade darker which is fine. Should be faste

Exorcist Scout Squad Shu'kra

Originally I wanted these guys done for when Kill Team: Hivestorm was released. I got close but didn't finish them. And besides building models with the kids, I really have not painted anything. They were so close too. Just had to do some skin highlights, weathering, and bases.  And with all the new Kill Team Starter coming out, Phobos Strike Team Kill Team ordered, and having 5 of the reprint Space Marine Heroes Series 4 models (I ordered a single eliminator and a Captain to round out the team)

"Think of your Inquisition's pet Adeptus Astartes mongrels -- the Exorcists."

The Exorcists Chapter     One of my favorite Loyalist Space Marine Chapters is Exorcists. I am torn with them being Sons of Dorns or are they Successors to Grey Knights. Currently I am reading the Kindle short stories "Within These Walls" ebook and then I'll read the "The Empty Place" from the Successor Novel before reading "Oath of Damnation. "    This is one army I have thought about starting and never have.  But I am thinking possible a Kill Team of Scouts and a

By the Blood of Sanguinius!

So the Blood Angel 1st company "Archangels" train is moving forward.  Some parts ordered and just need to pick up 2 boxes of the Blood Angels Assault terminators for bits and weapons. Eventually I will get some new Terminators, Chaplain Terminator and Brutulis Dreadnought.   Did grab a Leviathan Terminator Sgt to make into a Terminator Ancient and Sanguinary Guard weapons.     Single Axe blade will be going to Librarian, and the Fancy handguard sword is for Termina

"Sergio's bolter is jammed!"

So @Entropomancer and I have been playing 40k and many other GW games together since 1997 when we were just getting out of HS. I remember playing Space Hulk: Vengeance of the Blood Angels on the PlayStation at his house back in the day. I many fond memories laughing at the "please wait" loading screens to find out you died a minute or longer later, when we realized you could block a Genestealer attack, or Sergio's bolter jamming*….even the one time he had the Heavy Flamer, it still jammed. Raptors

Well I have a game on 07/15 against my Friends 1k pts of Nids, Plan is use my Raptors and debating going Phobos/ Scout heavy as they are at least primed or more.  Phobos Librarian is a go and more than likely Revier LT.  Trying to figure out the rest of the force. I may need to build an Impulsor for the Reivers to ride in.    I need to start my Call to Arms vow too....hopefully this weekend

Working on Chaplain

So originally I was planning on using this model as a chaplain in my Raptors Chapter, but he never fit as the army is all Phobos and Scouts. With the Indomtius Easy to build Assault Intercessors going to my Death Company, I did need a Chaplain.   He is a Work in Progress but getting there.....
