So am I back from Indiana. I have to head back to move In-Laws into a Retirement Center, in a few weeks. And of course everything goes sideways at work moment I get back. So hobby time has been non existence. Silver Lining is LGS not get Saturnine until Monday, so I can get everything I need to do first i.e. my XIXth Legion and Exorcists Call to Arms Vows, that I have not started. And won't have time this weekend.
I did start on building one of My XIVth Legion Commanders, not sure w
Hit the throttle on the Wreckas last week. I've been painting pretty slowly this year all things considered, decided to change that with this project. Finished up free-hand on a few items, got the squigs painted up, did the bases and oil washes last week resulting in a final project I'm pretty happy with!
I dug out some of the leftover terrain bits I had from the sector imperialis/Chalnath terrain. I put a fine terrain paste around those bits and then put in some sand to act as larg
The Resistance have finally captured the war machines they believe they require to make their stand.
Brutus, the Malcador, reliable, dependable the spine of their battleline. She will not fail them. She will hold the line, her battlecannon roaring, her sponsons blazing as she paves the way for the Resistance's advance.
The Iron Duke, his twin Earthshaker cannons blasting holes in the enemy's fortifications. He guards those retreating and the wounded behind his massive blast shield
Hi Folks,
Today’s blog entry is a little bit specific as it deals with something different from my usual inputs: instead of reporting hobbying progress, I will talk about a trail I did for a new technique (à la TITH – i.e. something that is not new in general but new for me).
The technique is often reported on purpose of adding details and create battle damages or war-torn marks on miniatures. But beyond painting damages, the sponge might be used on purpose of
I try every few years to post up an army shot on November 9th, this year I planned ahead and actually got everything laid out to get a few shots. Much as I wanted to bring out both of my tables, my living room only fits one these days, so I had to get a little creative and stagger the shots. This is pretty much everything save one drop pod that I completely forgot on my shelf. Without further ado, presenting the November Warriors, The House Garaipena, and a couple of sisters from the Order of th
I finally got around to printing the batteries from my last post. In doing so, two things stuck out.
1. I really shoulda measured properly. While they work well enough, they are a little small for the space they're meant to fit in.
2. The details are a shallow.
The next step is to try painting them up anyway to see how they look, if all is well, then I'll just glue them up and all will be well. If not, then back to the drawing board to resize things and give i
So the subject of this first blog post is gonna be rather innocuous, I've had kitbash fellblade with custom bits from blood and Skulls industry for a few years now.
I had used the original sponson with a set of twin linked lascannons from Blood and Skulls more or less jammed in to count as the Quad linked lascannons. But not so long ago (or at least it felt that way, it's been a year at least!) I decided to retrofit the sponson with something that looked a bit more space marine.
So I do have more than half an eye on 11th edition and the new plunging fire rule makes vespid much better all-round. They become a viable shooting unit if they get +1 BS. Defensively about the same but better offence. They continue to be excellent at snagging secondaries. I am fairly confident I will want 2 units of them, I wanted to try with 3 and see how it went. I was so-so, the truth is they are still made of paper and blow away in a breeze.
Having now played on UKTC I do see ho
That's already an interesting difference in philosophy for playing Kroot, I never want to go second.
2. Yeah, Kroot are A LOT more killy than their profiles seem at first glance. Our overlapping buffs do crazy damage when stacked on top of each other.
For you List Thoughts
- Vespid can be good, but you're already running far more that I would personally. I experimented with both 2 5 mans and 1 5 man, and I always just found that while they would occasionally get lucky and do something
I will post up an updated list with the next blog post I am writing now
In which I realise that my list is more killy into big things than I was allowing for!
