So can't seem to find this anywhere but what happens when a tau unit selects its targets, gets guided against said targets, and then has those targets become ineligible because of a strat. From what I can see they still obviously get to pick new targets but they've already been guided for the unit they can no longer shoot at and thus would suffer a penalty to hit against their new target.

Well it's not exciting but I could see the herald of slaanesh getting a plastic kit and both the blue scribes and epidimius need plastic kits if they don't want to get phased out. Wouldn't be surprised to see 5 detachments. Could give the daemons back their old abilities like run and charge for Slaanesh but then it'll feel worse to take them outside of the God detachments by a fair bit. Eh

Main reason why I don't think this is happening (this edition) is that we already have the CSM book and Belakor isn't in it. That's the only place you could put him if you wanted to split daemons off into god books. That's what they did in AoS and the time has passed. Daemons have their own identity in 40k and splitting them into God books would break that and even their ability to ally with CSM. It just doesn't seem feasible this edition.

Night Lords Kill Team
Blight1 replied to Matrindur's topic in + NEWS, RUMORS, AND BOARD ANNOUNCEMENTS +
Could probably use some of these bits on mk6 or 3 marines. Hope we see this turn into kits for all the legions just like what loyalists got. I really want special characters and Word Bearers -
Hey so on that death korps of krieg medipack it is a wargear ability that that the bearer Grant's the ability to its unit but no member of the squad can take it or comes standard with it. It's unlike any medipack the guard can take and other killteams with medics can't have it. Final wrinkle is that it doesn't appear in the official app at all. Not as an option or as any unit rule. It typically lists all options even if they aren't taken. Was this wargear a typo left over from an early draft?

I normally wouldn't feel bad for the wolves but no one deserves the vanguard vets treatment.

I will miss the advance and charge on genestealers. Overall I'm optimistic about this edition and I know a lot of my local players were getting rules fatigue so this should help them. One thing I dislike about the homogenizing of weapon options is that GW is wildly inconsistent in how they do it. Tyrant guard have full weapon options and warriors do not despite having incredibly similar loadouts. Same thing happened with CSM where they had some units with lightning claws and some with two maelific weapons. Same modeled weapon but very different rules. It's an inconsistency that gets to me. Still excited to see all the armies and to get some games in. Will be having a Tyranid mirror match today using 9th ed points to try this all out.

Wh40k 10th Edition Faction Focus: Death Guard
Blight1 replied to Lord Marshal's topic in + DEATH GUARD +
Overall from what I have seen from the exhibition game and faction focus deathguard looks to be a killier faction with some tankiness rather than an incredibly tanky faction with a bit of killyness. It a big shift for them but we'll adjust. The only sticking point is movement issues. Feel like it pushes us towards lots of transports which I don't hate but it'll be another major adjustment for a lot of newer DG players. Heck I had a new guy in 9th that had no idea what a land raider was. Didn't even know it was in his codex. -
Rumour Engine 06/06/23 Kroot

Could also be a skinned kroot. Those spines match the kroot's legs. -
Wh40k 10th Edition Faction Focus: Death Guard

Which would be weird considering they've at least folded the icon bearer back into custodes squads. -

But there's an icon in the kit. -

Wonder if plague pistols not being PISTOLS is a mistake? -
Why is he tougher to kill than a GUO or Morty? Why is he killier? Points matter but I can't imagine they'll make him more expensive than Morty.

Black templars just pick it. Hadn't even noticed the possibility was there for space wolves -

So another army gets army wide FNP and deathguard continue to be very sad. -
At least combat patrol has it's own detachment and strats.

Wh40k 10th Edition Faction Focus: Thousand Sons
Blight1 replied to Lord Marshal's topic in + THOUSAND SONS +
Ahriman used to be known for multiple psychic shooting attacks and I was hoping for the same in 10th ed. Free doombolt is all well and good but that psychic stalk profile feels kinda pathetic. It's sad that the base attack from a librarian feels more threatening. -
Currently looking like meganobz will be equally as tough as blightlords and custodes will be far tougher. What do you get for filling yourself with disease these days?

Wh40k 10th Edition Faction Focus: Adeptus Custodes

They used to be weapons that you only used if you didn't have a spear or axe and that's what they are again. -

Deathguard are rolling in their early grave. -
Wh40k 10th Edition Faction Focus: Chaos Knights
Blight1 replied to Lord Marshal's topic in + CHAOS KNIGHTS +
Man, I was really hoping for chaos marks in the detachment. Hopefully that comes back with the codex. -
Wh40k 10th Edition Faction Focus: Imperial Knights

So knights get a feel no pain and a bump in toughness deathguard get one unit increased in toughness and slower move. The chaos salt flows through me. -
Wh40k 10th Edition Faction Focus: Death Guard
Blight1 replied to Lord Marshal's topic in + DEATH GUARD +
So what does having the objective generate a disease aura actually do? If an opponent runs up to a sticky objective they clear it at the end of their turn so you can't take advantage of it in your shooting phase and if you have units on the objective and you fight them in melee on their turn then the units have the disease aura. What does it actually do? -
Wh40k 10th Edition Faction Focus: Death Guard
Blight1 replied to Lord Marshal's topic in + DEATH GUARD +
Deathguard have had feel no pain for a very long time and then disgustingly resilient in 8th with the change to -1 damage in 9th. With the return of feel no pain as a universal special rule I really thought we'd get it back but instead we get nothing. This was generally considered a terrible idea when they did it to nurgle daemons in 9th (there's a reason you don't see them right now). No idea why GW think it's a great idea now. Seems like everyone but eldar are getting nerfed to 8th ed index stats -1.
