Which of the Primaris combat patrols would be best for an Iron Hands successor Chapter? I'm thinking of the following as options: 1: New Dark Angels ( w/ Bladegaurd) for the Gravis Captain to lead a squad of Aggressors, Bladegaurd to supplement the melee shortcomings, Hellblasters as anti-armor. 2: Deathwatch so I could field the Apothecary along a 3 man squad of Aggressors, Lieutenant to lead a squad of Intercessors. 3: Legio Astartes battlegroup ( split it in half between them and a salamanders successor. Any feedback?

So I've mostly been prepping my guard and have been focused there, but browsing these forums...has shamed me. Space wolves brought me in and right now all my wolves are broken up and primed from storage and an attempt to re paint some quite bad 15y/o paint jobs. So I need to start here with a list, to see what needs to get rebuilt and repainted first. Now I don't plan on buying anything yet until I get a handle on my backlog (100 guard inf and 20 heavy weapons teams) so ill list alternatives at the end. So the Wolf Lord and the termies go big game hunting, either for characters or elite infantry. Grey hunters hold objectives while long fangs, speeder, and razorbacks go tank hunting. Blood claws, dreads, and the vindicator all move towards the biggest mess of the enemy to press the opponents objectives. Are combat squads useful? Old school it was better to have a huge volley to use, but with 2 wounds now they seem to be durable enough 5 maning it. I have another pack of 15 Blood claws, 10 Grey Hunters, and Long fangs(2 heavy bolter, multi melta, 2 missile launchers, plasma cannon). A predator annihilator, maybe a dozen various wolf guard, a couple captains, and a rune priest. Last I played we didn't have riding wolves or separate wolf packs, so I don't have any. Want some but that backlog is pressing down on that. Dear All I have stumbled upon the new Codex: Space Marines - Weapons and Wargear Updates and noted that multi-meltas are now heavy 2. It has making me thinking about weather I it would be time to change my devestators' plasmacannons out with multi-meltas instead as I no longer can see the big advanges of useing plasmacannons over multi-meltas... I mean sure, the plasmacannon can potentially make 1 more hit but at the same time can also risk making 1 less hit and with a worse strength and AP value not to mention a FAR WORSE damage output... There is of course the chance of doing more damage with Supercharged but as my marine can get fried up in process I just don't think it make sense to use Plasmacannons over Multi-meltas. Or am I wrong?

Hey brothers, I've been planning on starting up a space marine project for a while now and have settled on Doom Eagles. I'm focusing on the 2nd company and mostly doing primaris to start. I do plan on branching out to regular marines as well. Any advice is welcome. I'm waiting on black gothic number decals and I know a few models have ruman numerals on them which is not the Doom Eagle way, that will be fixed when decals come. Also some markings are white and I need to paint them red. Need to paint the base rims black all in due time. The 2nd company has spent years during the Indomitus Crusade fighting tyranids with their brothers of the Ultramarines so some have tyranic veteran markings. No back ground supporting this but I liked the idea. First up is my 2nd company captain. Valac Aquilon Lt of 2nd Company, ruman numerals bother me on him lol. Painting over them tonight. Also i know the helmet stripes are incorrect. My error. 1st Company Captain and test model for project.
