Stroganoff
Very nice rhino, I really like the originality of the design. I would call it the Ajax Pattern Rhino, after the hero of the Trojan war famous for his great stature and giant shield Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/214218-black-templar-army-revivalcreations-grimaldus/page/5/#findComment-2748722 Share on other sites
Eberious
Thanks very much all, @Brother Rathul, through one of the many sensors near the front and top, if that gets destroyed then he poke his little head up in the hatch. @Terminatorinhell, indeed it is. lol. @Stroganoff, thanks very much an yet another good name. Eberious
Well, its been a few months and after the new boiler, radiators and piping, and now that I've moved my hobby room (everything!) downstairs, I can finally get back to some 40k stuff. So sorry to anyone that was following my progress. For now is the Dread. http://i1178.photobucket.com/albums/x370/EberiousTemplar/DSC07618-1.jpg http://i1178.photobucket.com/albums/x370/EberiousTemplar/DSC07613.jpg http://i1178.photobucket.com/albums/x370/E.../DSC07615-1.jpg http://i1178.photobucket.com/albums/x370/E...ar/DSC07620.jpg http://i1178.photobucket.com/albums/x370/E...ar/DSC07618.jpg http://i1178.photobucket.com/albums/x370/E...ar/DSC07615.jpg http://i1178.photobucket.com/albums/x370/E...ar/DSC07614.jpg I will say that the pics don't do it justice, but you'll just have to take my word for that. As always, c&c welcome Edited November 10, 2011 by Eberious Raztalin and Luna707 2 Back to top Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/214218-black-templar-army-revivalcreations-grimaldus/page/5/#findComment-2920871 Share on other sites

Kajae
Oh, my. That dread is stellar! I've been thinking of doing a dread rushing forward like that - was it difficult to do that to the legs? Eberious
Yay, you're back! ^^ The Dread turned out great. What's next on the table? Thanks for the welcome back, next up will be the 2nd crusader squad. The squads almost done but a few touch ups. After that will probably be a freshly spruced up LRC I've restored to full glory. Oh, my. That dread is stellar! I've been thinking of doing a dread rushing forward like that - was it difficult to do that to the legs? Thanks very much roninmodern. For me no, but I've been converting for years and years and have a few other dreds with the same kind of leg adjustment(theres no way to say that without sounding bigheaded). So far this is the best pose(on a dread) I've managed. I've got one more dred to make (a aobr one) so I could do a tut if anyone wanted. Eberious
Recently stripped down a LRC and added some gubbins and a brand new paint job. The painting is a little more progressed than in these pics but this is the first real chance to post anything for a little while. http://i1178.photobucket.com/albums/x370/EberiousTemplar/DSC07722.jpg http://i1178.photobucket.com/albums/x370/EberiousTemplar/DSC07721.jpg C&C welcome (the Templar crosses are white rather than red) Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/214218-black-templar-army-revivalcreations-grimaldus/page/5/#findComment-2936918 Share on other sites

Eberious
Thanks both. The effect was done by a sponge(the stuff that comes in the blister packs). Was applied by "dry brush/sponge" , rather than wet paint. First coat was white to a decent level then a tiny amount of blue, same technique. Well I finshed the first of many....many  tanks. http://i1178.photobucket.com/albums/x370/EberiousTemplar/DSC07833.jpg http://i1178.photobucket.com/albums/x370/EberiousTemplar/DSC07825.jpg http://i1178.photobucket.com/albums/x370/EberiousTemplar/DSC07836.jpg http://i1178.photobucket.com/albums/x370/E...ar/DSC07835.jpg http://i1178.photobucket.com/albums/x370/E...ar/DSC07832.jpg http://i1178.photobucket.com/albums/x370/E...ar/DSC07826.jpg C&C welcome. This guy has a 3" swing radius, anything in there get instantly hit with str 8. I call it his zone of TERROR! The arms were a pian in the arse to get just right, 6 arms and 3 hands later and I got them just how I wanted. So you know, the arms and the sword are made up from 13 separate parts. Alpha PTP
I am all for pristine and perfectly painted marines, but not with the Templars. They have too much character for that, and I think you did a very nice job of showing said character. Looks good so far. Eberious
Thanks Alpha PTP, late response, but better late than never. Have been busy with other game system and project on the BT sub-forum, but my Templar revival is once under way. So why not start it off with the newst SM model to hit the shelfs. Love the model but hate the tail and assualt cannon. So, hacking has alreadycommenced and so far this is what I have. Soon as I seen the model I thought 'Orca from the old command and conquer' so you'll be able to see the resemblance. Will have to wait to the get the other tail fin, but you can see what it will look like. http://i1178.photobucket.com/albums/x370/EberiousTemplar/DSC08251.jpg http://i1178.photobucket.com/albums/x370/EberiousTemplar/DSC08260.jpg http://i1178.photobucket.com/albums/x370/EberiousTemplar/DSC08258.jpg http://i1178.photobucket.com/albums/x370/EberiousTemplar/DSC08259.jpg Love this kit, should be getting another 2 after this if all goes well. Eberious
Thanks both, @Marshal Pentacost, its the two outer parts on the IG valk converted together. As the two outer bits are way fatter than the tail of the ST I had to cut and file very carefully so it matched up with the tail bit on the ST and to gradually get it thinner to the tip. These two bits so very carefully circled, lol. http://i1178.photobucket.com/albums/x370/E...ar/DSC08261.jpg Had a thought earlier, so have to paint it airwolf style. Black and white, so very Templar :) Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/214218-black-templar-army-revivalcreations-grimaldus/page/5/#findComment-3077057 Share on other sites
