I need some suggestions for how to make studs/bolts to add the GS trim. Any suggestions or links to tutorials would be appreciated. As alway C&C is always welcome :)

Nice GS work.

As for rivets/studs I use Grandt Line stuff which Machinepriest shared with us all on his Charcharadon thread. They come in various sizes, the picture is the hex bolts but they do rounded rivets as well.

Thanks mate! Thats just the sort of thing i was looking for. I've finished the rivets on my contemptor but I might check them out when i start work on my Land raider.

The Dread is nearly finished. All that remains is the base and some highlights on the skulls. After that I'll have to think of what i want to do for my next vow.

Thanks mate! I'd love to do some more Pre-Heresy TSs. I was very tempted by the heresy tale of gamers that has just started. I think I'd struggle to make regular updates though because each terminator takes me such a long time to build and because my focus is mainly on my IWs. Not to mention the Fire Angels I'm supposed to be working on... But yes I do have plans to revisit the Scarab Occult :)

Thanks for the kind words mate. The DA didn't show up too well in the photo. I think its a little washed out. The greens and reds are more vivid that the picture shows. As to the claw I assume your asking about the paint job?

I started with a 7/3 mix of regal blue and chaos black.

Next I highlighted the edges with pure regal blue.

I followed up the first highlight with a highlight of pure enchanted blue.

After that I added in progressively more white for the next two highlights.

I finished of with pure skull white on the very edges.

most of the 'glowing' effect was done with a 1/1 mix of enchanted blue and skull white. I also used some darker blues to blend it in a bit, especially around the fist housing. The final step was to give the shaded edges (not the actual claws) a blue wash.

That dread is jaw-dropping.

 

The thing I'm most struck by, though (I just caught up on this thread in one hit) are some of the poses on your possessed and 'zerks:

That running berzerker with the power fist is startlingly dynamic, I'm really impressed. Hardly ever see that much movement in power armoured minis, and there's a real air of menace to the pose. I hope I can pull off something similar someday.

 

By the way, your eye lense OSL is great too - would you mind snapping a few WIP shots next time you do it? I'd be interested to see how you build it up.

I do the hazard stripes by eye. I might try masking when I work on some vehicles.
