Just happy how the Siege Knight has turn out.  From starting to get idea from the Warhammer World open day from the Chaos vs Ultramarines display & IW transfer on display.

Same with the Raptors unit I've just added being inspired by the Warhammer World display board.

Chaos Guard been a army I've wanted to try get done for a while.  My Cultist where orignaly start of that army before 6th ed was being release.  Since the current codex was release, having tanker commander as a HQ chose really help for the army I've always wanted - Tank Company.  George Dellapina army in the WD many year ago & then a few of my friends collecting Chaos Guard armies have kept pushing that.

Hell yeah brother that Diorama is the inspiration driving me at the moment (but change Smurfs to scars and chaos to orks)

 

I hope you pick up the Bloodoath book when your that Warhammer World? :D  When I saw the display I think out of the hour time limit we had during the Warhammer World open day, 40min was spent trying to see as much as possible of this.  All the display where cool, just when we got the program just saw a small image of Chaos vs Ultramarines & knew I wanted to see this, I never exspect the display to be on that scale.

 

Hopeful get a bit more time to check this out in a few month time & going to try get even more photos.

 

There a lot about this board that offer so much idea.  As said there it help toward the Siege Knight & Raptors.  It help further add that image of how I'd see my IW battle out.

 

Saying this I'm enter Armies on Parade this year.  I'll be using my board from 2012 & update it a bit, also due to part breaking - Plastic glue thick cause nothing but problem & since then I've never use that glue again.  Prefer using thin when building plastic models.

So I'll be spend a single day during my week off soon sort this out & fix the board.  It'll be more new models that have been added to my army that will be part of this.  Just enter for fun :D

Hail IP. Astounding work on that siege knight, the transfers, paint job and conversion work all came together beautifully. Hopefully I'll be able to amount up to that level of work soon with my conversion of the Iron Father model from FW into my second rendition of Warsmith Demetrios to post in the Iron Warriors page. Just one question about the transfer sheets for the Iron Warriors you've utilized on you're knight. Do those big banner decals on the bottom left seem a little big to apply to any single model without trimming un-needed portions before application? With the Banner transfer - They seem to be a little bit bigger on a plastic Space Marine Banner & you would need to trim it down a bit, just check there with my Object marker for Emperor Will & Battle Brother who carry my Grand Company Banner. 

I'm not sure what it would be like with any other banner, your best to email Forge World & some of the different Standard Bearer models they sell from the Horus Heresy range.

I follow the Games Workshop videos on youtube on the fourth Knight video & Ultramarines guide for the transfer.  Best to check Warhammer TV, the Games Workshop account over on youtube.

 

I'll hopeful be using more of these in the future.

I'll be leaving the text right now, as you said - my worry about them vanish as it where? Just think part of the models/that way to catch people attesion (sp?) when people are looking that the knight model. Same with the Chaos Icon I'll keep that whole.

 

Just a thought, how about a light wash of Agrax Earthshade over the text, just to take set some of the 'brightness' of the text.

Quick update

Mange to finial get around & get the Battle Brother built to crew the Berzerker Rhino.  He will get paind this weekend & the Berzerker Rhino will get weather powder & finial parts of the model finish during my week off starting next weekend.

Chaos Guard army - I've said for a while I wanted to collect a Chaos Guard army just before 6th ed was release.  Current codex was release last year? 
Really want to push forward with this army.  Spent Sunday? adding weather powder.  There still a lot to get painted to the tanks.  Just right now I want to try get everything I've got for this army painted & get the whole army up & running.  Once everything there it go back & add squad marking & bit more detail.  So just want to see the army as a whole & then go back & add onto the tanks.

Three new Chaos Guard Veterans.  Just like the plastic Storm trooper models since they where release last year & it make them stand out a little bit more vs the cultist.  It sort like Combi in Half Life.

Now join the ranks with the rest of the Veteran I painted up during last year.  Just added the above model as extra to swap out between specil weapon carry models if I need the points for more tanks :D

Spent yesterday adding bit of battle damage to the Knight after take a few days break from the model & talk to my friend when I need painting advice.

The Icon only had a small amount of Abaddon Black added.  Just I want the icon to stand out along with the transfer & just add that contrast.  Other wise my worry that they end up getting to loss in the model.  So want the transfer & Chaos Icon to stand out & help draw attesion to the model, like the blue spot colour I've use though out my Iron Warriors, Dark Mechanicus, Chaos Knight & Chaos Guards.

Also I'm going to enter Armies on Parade this year.  I'm going to update the display board I made back in 2012.  This display board been a big part of my Iron Warriors history.
So update pretty much

- Fix broken parts, just some part of the model broke during move.  It has been few years.

- Update some of the painting, thanks to the release of the Games Workshop effect paints back in 2013.

 

It will most be the units I want on the display board.

So hopeful get a day set aside during my week off just to fix everything & then take a quick note what need to be done.  Then try free a weekend later on in September to get the update done.

I think right now my hobby list for the IW's is

 

- Armies on Parade, sort out board

- Call of Chaos.  I'll need to try get a CCW Cultist unit done.  Thinking of a Khorne theme unit as well.  Possible a Nurgle lord.  Unit of IW chosen.

- Chaos Guards.  Hopeful pick up a Leman Russ this weekend & possible get a few more for my birthday

- Dark Mechanicus

 

Also during week off I think I'm going to buy another Bloodthister.  It a really nice model & just want to get a few days just paint a cool model.  Pretty much like last year when I painted the Land Raider.

How are you so productive to such a high level? Every time I read your plog I see things that make me just go 'yeah, that's awesome'. Always an inspiration!

Games Workshop hobby been a big part my life.  Iron Warriors are my favrout army & Chaos is my main army/codex I've kept going back to time & time again over the 19 years I've been in the hobby.

Also I just don't like useing unpainted models when I game, somthing about that at put me off collecting a army.  It all about adding models I really like & having that chose to use all these diffrent unit.

Spent yesterday getting the Battle Brother crew memeber painted for my Khorne Berzerker Rhino.  I've just got to add Forge World weather powder & blood for the blood god, that'll get done during my week off which is soon (starting Friday 4pm to Monday 7th :biggrin.: )

Spent a bit of yesterday also adding squad number & painting chaos icon onto my Chaos Guard Leman Russ.  Looking that it - again during my week off.  I'm going to gather all the brass etching I've bought over the years & try use left over once on these tanks, mainly like the turret on my Tank Commander (count as Pask) as that seem to stand out more when I look that the model.

I pick up the Chaos Terminator Lord last weekend.  Just looking back that the weekly White Dwarf a while back that a Chaos Nurgle Sorcerer shown.  It really cool & inspering (sp?).  During last week a friend had given me the left over parts from the Warhammer Nurgle models (not sure there names).  So though be cool to convert up a model inspired by this conversion but as a Nurgle Lord.  One of the things if the axe from that Warhammer Nurgle kit which is really cool & will be his main weapon for this conversion.
I've just got one part to try get from that Nurgle kit & then I can go forward with the conversion idea I have in mind.  Might possible get the single spure Nurgle Lord from Warhammer as well.

Just pick up this lot today from my local Games Workshop store along with yesterday White Dwarf.

This will be a second unit of Vanguard.  While the Plasma weapon from this will be use for my second Ranger unit.  I'm also going to use one of the Mechanicus models to be a counter & to carry the Buring brand flamer for Sorcerer Nârik Gharrok for a event I've got soon.

Cool looking forward to seeing you build a nurgle guy. I'm guessing he will still be an Iron Warrior, will you be doing some cool weathering effects on the armour?

 

He'll be Death Guard, but still part of my army.  Just one of my long term plans was always to try & collect the 9 Legion & a few warbands.  Doing this sort keep that door open in the future.  Also just somthing wanted to try, as said always down to cool models & always way to make everything tie in with the army your collecting.

Same with the Thousand Son Sorcerer I want to add & he will be a nod back to my friend army with the cool Obliterator conversion.

 

Call of Chaos one my aim is to convert up a unit of World Eater base on the Bloodborn unit from Khârn: Eater of World novel possible as a unit of Chosen (for wargear) with MoK. That'll open up to Daemonkin, also allow me to use the Age of Sigmar Khorne models I got a while back.

Also how I'd still like to get a unit of Black Legion done with them starting it all :D

 

Looking forward to what you do with the Nurgle guy and the armies on parade mate.

 

I'm looking forward update the board.  I'll aim on Monday/last day of my week off just getting the board all sorted & fix the broken parts.  Get a rough idea what units I'll be useing for Armies on Parade.

Can I ask what you used for the base of your board? Is it just mdf?

 

It the plasitc Games Workshop realm board, I pick up the set where you get two of them.  It really light, even with the terrain on top & also due to having the realm gaming board which I use now & then before moving house.

There also foamboard to help with the hight/hill area of the board & filler for the stone area take from the Chaos terrain Games Workshop sold a while back.

Quick though

 

From this Friday - 4pm, my holiday start until Tuesday 8th September.  During then, I want to set some time aside for the hobby.  But I'm unsure which of the three models to pick. 

 

  • Bloodthister:  This will be the standard Bloodthister gaming wise.  The Bloodthister just a really cool model.
  • Vindicator:  I've been thinking about adding a second Vindicator to my Iron Warriors for the past while & I'll be using the Iron Warriors transfer sheet I have.  Aim to try get a squad of three Vindicator added to my Grand Company in the long run.
  • Leman Russ:  Pick up two Leman Russ for my Chaos Guard army.

 

Ether way, two models that don't get pick will most like be part of my Call of Chaos vow.  I've got a fair few units planned for Call of Chaos for my Iron Warriors, Chaos Guard (Armour 13: Lost & the Damned) & just wanting to add some more cool models like the World Eater Bloodborn unit from Khârn: Eater of World novel.

 

The three models listed there are once that are easy to get built during Sunday & ready for painting during few days I've set aside.

 

The Hydra - Thanks.  Idea  & theme just about old allies from the Great Crusade & Heresy era now link up with my Grand Company.  But main reason just add cool models & to try out a few different things.  As said there I want to try add a unit of World Eater.  Again possible led to there own armies. 

So a few these will be put forward for Call of Chaos.

I'd say pick the Bloodthirster. Painting vehicle xyz can feel like a chore, which is a feeling you don't want on vacation. The stunning Bloodthirster model though... that's surely going to be a lot of fun! :smile.:

Everyone been suggesting the Bloodthister & re-watching the painting guide video from Games Workshop youtube account has made him the model I'll paint during my holiday.  I'm also going to pick up the three Leman Russ as well & try get some work, building & spray them so there ready to paint when time permit.

 

Just want to try get a model painted during the time off :D

 

Quick update

 

Been pretty ill all this week with the cold, with yesterday seen the sort of worst phase.  I'm really wanting this to be gone soon as there a lot I need to get done during my time off.

 

I have mange to get some time when I've been ok to get Dark Mechanicus models painted.

Dune walker base was finish, with the model varnish on Sunday.  I really like this model & really looking forward trying a unit out in a future game.

The new unit of Vanguard I've started during the week.  As well as the ranger for the second squad I've already painted, was just waiting for the Plasma weapon.

So going to get these five models hopeful finish during tomorrow.

How the army looking so far (minius the new Vanguard squad).  I've look out the White Dwarf with the formastion - issue 69.  I will try check out both codex tomorrow & get a 1850pt force sorted out.

Haha you got the nurgle guy then you get a cold. Papa Nurgle had blessed you my friend.

 

Pretty much & yesterday was suffering nosebleed, day before buying a Bloodthirster.  Just over this week ether on the train, in town or that my gaming club or local GW store lot people got the cold right now.  But yes pretty much day after I posted about the Nurgle Lord.

Sentinal - This was one I built a while back during the Christmas holidays when I was trying to move forward to get my Chaos Guard army on the go.  But over the past few months I've ended up needing the 60mm base for another model.  So today one my friends donated a spare base they had.  I'll get the two Sentinal I bought today built up soon & get them all spray. 

 

I've said I'd wanted to try get my Chaos Guard on the go for a while.  Just felt that now the time to just get everything done before end of this year.  I just need another Sentinal & then three Wyvren models, so possible look that getting this lot between now & Christmas, what ever not done now with models I current have will go toward Call of Chaos or painted up during the Christmas holidays just to get the army complete.  I'm looking forward to this & always wanted a Armour Company for a long time since seen George Dellapina army in the White Dwarf many years ago.

 

Khorne model - Just wanted to build a Khorne Herald after seen one my friend converted with the release of this model.  It look cool.

 

I've been wanting to try get back to Daemons.  I did have a army back 2008 (photo below of the only models left).  Lot them where bought back when I was part time for Games Workshop.  But later on, before moving house.  I ended up selling the army, apart from the soul grinder below.  Just was never a fan of Metal models & fed up off the Bloodcrusher always breaking & chipping.  Aim was by selling them it would hopeful give me that push to get a new force, more so when the current codex was release

 

But I then sort of got put off for a little bit due to the Screamer Council & Flying Daemon Prince armies that started shown up that events.  In all the years I've been in the hobby, they've been the only two list I've refuse games against regardless who the oppent was.  Just found them dull, boring & just negativity gaming wise & hated waiting agies for all the psychic power & gifts to be rolled.

 

But with the release of the Bloodthister model & Daemonkin codex it brought back that hype wanting to get a Daemon army done.  I enjoy useing the army back 2008

Bloodthister - I've set some time aside during my time off & just get some painting done.  I've went with a second Bloodthister, it a really good model.  I'm wanting to convert this Bloodthister to carry two axe's.  Hopeful he will be fully built by the end of tomorrow, just got to tidy & sort my painting stastion & sort a few things tomorrow.  Also get the Herald model painted during tomorrow later afternoon.

Spent today just gett few more bits painted on my Mechanicus models.  Just need to get Games Workshop water effected added to the base.

 

Also going to try get the new Khorne (human? not sure there names) models from Age of Sigmar to try convert into Pit Slaves theme for Close Combat cultist & double as unit for Dark Mechanicus.

Looking forward to seeing what you do with the Bloodthirster mate. Sentinel looks good as well. You got any more pics of the herald?

 

I'll try get some photos of the Herald tomorrow or Monday.  Meant to take some but ended up forgetting & had a few other things to sort out.

 

I'm going to look that Armour 13 Lost & the damned that the art work for a few more idea for the Sentienl's :D  Would like to try get them & the Leman Russ battle tanks all sprayed on Tuesday so there ready to paint over the next while when time permits.
