Done a bit more work on Eidolon, wasn't happy with his original skin tone, he looked far to healthy for somebody who's been through what he has..

little bit more on his body too.. need to up the contrast on the "gold" and make it a bit more poppy as thats kinda the whole point of this model.

I can be a bit of a hobby butterfly at times.. but i will get round to sorting out all my 40k armies in due time.. just so they are complete more than anything (ive not played any 40k in a loooong time 30k got in the way... then the eldar codex ruined the game.)

decided i wanted a more saturated purple for the armour.. still wip but i like the colour a bit more.. its less wishy washy (though some of the blends need fixing)

I really enjoy painting faces and i find eyes oddly fun to do.. even if most of the detail on stuff like that is never really gonna get seen.

Must say mate, Brilliant work with the face. That is actually around about the skin tone I am looking to use for my Death Guard.

How did you paint it may I ask?

It was rakarth flesh over halfords grey primer leaving a little of the grey showing through in the shadows then a zenith highlight of flayed one flesh then cma aged white from a higher angle.. few thin glazes of purple, blue and reikland fleshshade then highlighted with aged white on the extremities

@betrayer41 with a brush ;) thanks man, i've improved a lot over the years with advice from people on here and constantly pestering some of the painters (and sculpters) that i look up to. Getting critique from people from the FW team and having some excellent painters as close friends has helped up my game considerably.

Now with the arrival of plastic heresy stuff i figured i'd play about with another project.. essentially an excuse to use a load of the models that my DG dont really use/ have access to in decent numbers i've started a small white scar force whilst i wait for 1k sons and as something easy to produce when im getting annoyed with beige or yellow.

Its 3 paints through an airbrush scale 75 bering blue all over, scale 75 arctic blue as a zenith highlight and then white on the highest points. Then very lightly washed with burnt umber oil paint focusing on the recessess and trying to remove any excess from the flat surfaces

Your Death Guard are truly awesome, and I'm finding myself using this thread as inspiration for my own Death Guard.

I have to ask how did you make the Power Scythe for your Terminator Sgt? Also, what did you make the combi-weapon out of for your Praetor?

Again, awesome stuff.

Hey all, been silent for a little while, but i have something to show for it.. I've been working on something quietly for a while to get ready for the heresy weekender and its finally close enough to show him off. Still a few bits that need finishing and touching up on him, but hes mostly done...

I've seen quite a few Potato models, and this one's my favorite by a mile. I love the way you mixed in the golds to highlight the detail in the sculpt. I didn't even notice most of that before. Also, that face is incredible.
