Today in the hobby I finished painting my Nephilim Jetfighter.  I don't think I'll be embarrassed to have it on the gaming table either.  Still have to do the base though, including the (dead) Chaos Marine I put there to jazz it up a bit.  Think I'll paint him Black Legion colors... :D

Today in the hobby I figured out how best to paint my drop pod doors, and went about doing the interior and most of the exteriors. I also did the metallics on the fins. I also did all the metallics for my Land Speeder. My one bottle of Badab Black is now 99% empty.

Today in the hobby I finally broke my 10 years of being a loyalist, put my faith in the Emperor and loyalty to Ferrus Manus to one side... and embraced the freedom of the Dark Gods*. To use an often-heard quote from DoW - I feel the warp overtaking me... it is a good pain.

I painted a few test miniatures. I'm not quite sure what happened, but they look a lot like Ultramarines. And the idea of chaos Ultramarines just seems like such a fun and comical idea to run with, I think I'm going to stick with it. We march on Macragge!

*Until FW's Dropsite Massacre book comes out, when I have no doubt I'll go running back to my 30K Iron Hands...

One of us... One of us....

Yesterday in the hobby, I for the first time started sculpting something with petroleum on my tools... Why have I not done this before!!!

Today...well, over a week actually, I've considered what army I want to do now that I have half a Company (or so) of Rainbow Warriors. I intend to get the entire Fourth eventually, but I want to have a change from painting blue to avoid burn out.

All I know is, they'll be an established Chapter that don't tend to be collected by most gamers, not Yellow, Black, Blue and might use a Codex other than C:SM.

Still haven't seen one that takes my fancy...yet.

Have been getting through Obliterators for the ETL like there's only a few days left..!

Oh wait...

If only you could see my current assembly line :P. I am literally putting in 10+ hours per day to make up for time lost to Nurgle's little attack and some unfortunately necessary mass stripping. Also learning as I go with airbrushing the land speeder and drop pod. The speeder is still something of a mystery- have to paint the cockpit separate from the speeder, then find a way to keep it protected after assembly for further airbrushing...or paint every part and then assemble...or...or...

:P

Plumber's putty is a good way to cover something for airbrush detailing.

Uhh, let's see....kinda hard to remember specifics. I painted for around 10 hours today.

Painted up my Librarian. He looks sexy. I almost don't wanna beat him up with weathering like the rest of them, but such is war.

Basecoated individual pieces of my landspeeder WIP

Clogged my airbrush with varnish twice. So much fun.

Painted trim on about 35 shoulder pads. Freehanding all the unit and chapter markings on those tomorrow is gonna be murder.

Gloss varnished the landspeeder cockpit crew to prepare them for oil wash.

Did my first blue-to-purple heat wash on the speeder's multi-melta and assault cannon. Gotta say, I kinda like it.

Painted a couple of Rocket Launchers.

Painted a couple of bases.

Painted details on two marines to replace the two I had to strip for my ETL.

Ummmm...varnished the metal bits on my Drop Pod WIP so I can tape them off tomorrow and color the damned things in at last.

That's all I can remember. I'm gonna go lie down now. Hopefully my eyes will be uncrossed in time for tomorrow's 10 hour shift.

I. Will. Not. Fail. My. Vow.

Yellow Submarine hobby shop in Japan. They sell some unboxed sprues, discounts vary. I've got stuff for about 80% of GW before but the Rhino was 3,400y down from 4,500y. The tactical 5 1,300y down from 3,400y. Plus they gave me about another 10% off after that.

How could I resist?

It's been a battle... but done!

Thank goodness. Six Oblits in a few hours over a few days - feeling proud!

pre-heresy Salamanders?

Hawk Lords?

White Scars?

Guardians of the Covenant?

I've got more....

Today in the hobby I did absolutely squat, after doing 14 hours of work yesterday in a failed attempt to finish my vow.

Have you got any idea what 14 hours of painting in one day does to your head?

Bad things.  Bad, bad things.

.....okay, so I did do a little varnishing today, but that's all!

I love 14 hour painting days, they give me the false impression that one day I might actually have every model I own actually painted.  Then I look at the hundreds of Orks and even greater number of Grots I own and the illusion is shattered.  Still, I got several of those long painting days in this last month...granted much of them were spent painting things I had not vowed, like Dark Angels and Red Scorpions.

I decided last night - I'm rebooting my Steel Wings from scratch and recycling/stripping what I have for bits. I did have an issue with how they looked, more so after seeing how much my painting improved on my RW's. I am going to do Flesh Tearers in between my Steel Wings, Rainbow Warriors and now Loyalist Ravens of Bahltimyr (Bahltimyr Reavers)

today in the hobby I laid out 5K+ of blood angels on the kitchen table for my son's birthday present. I can't wait to see his face when he goes to get his cereal!

it would appear I need to develope a fondness for painting red!

i just hope he doesn't change his mind when you're half way through painting 'em! :blink.::laugh.:

Awesome present though! :smile.:
