Today in the hobby I recrystallized my views on my Chaos Space Marines (Red Corsairs) and have started building them in a manner so that I can play them as Loyalist marines or Chaos Marines.

Also I've been doing some modeling work on some Warp Talons (GASP), and filled in some former magnet holes on my Tau crisis suits with an experimental mixture of powdered plastic and white glue.

I got plenty of Greenstuff, I just...really hate breaking it out, and this is more of a Proof of Concept than anything.

And now I'm drawing up plans for a foam board Zone Mortalis board.

Finished magnetising all of the weaponry for my 2 Sentinels and Russ', the Russ Exterminator cannons were a little tricky.

Next, finishing my Guard Company Command Squad, a second Heavy Squad and then one more batch of Wyches for my Dark Eldar...

I *might* get round to some painting this year.

Today in the Hobby I have seen with my own eyes...fluff for the Rainbow Warriors! A nugget, the tiniest morsel (page 18 of the new Codex), but I think that after a fair few posts (well, quite a few) on their FB page (when they had one) GW decided to throw me a bone (they probably had enough of hearing from me  ).

I wonder what I have to do to get more?

Wait, what?  Did it have anything to do with one of their ships being sunk by the French?

Captain, I am detecting an Osnap! on an approach vector.

Today in the hobby I watched as a bunch of kids worked through their first Codex change. 'Sweet, Tacticals are cheaper, balls, Scouts have to pay for camo-cloaks now' was the prevailing sentiment. I work in an FLGS btw, I wasn't just randomly hanging around a GW.

I also played my first game for a few weeks, which I won in an embarrassingly devastating way. Seriously, it was like Horus himself had blessed my dice.

I recovered from an Apoc battle. In this battle my Emperors Shield Infantry Company of 397 IG along with 60 Grenadier vets and 30 Stormtroopers defended a Grand Redoubt against Space Wolves of  the most violent manner. Although  9 Sentinels , 10 Paladins and 3 Dreadknights  assissted, it was clear that my forces were not going to make it thru the final turn. The Wolves were set to take the macro-cannon and Artillery positions that were bombarding another table.

I learned that ordering, moving, firing, overwatching, and fighting assault with 500 models is VERY draining. Overall it was a fun game. Thanks to Chris and Mike for being  great opponents.

Emperors name... I love this game!

Today I turned my back on the 41st millennium.

Hello 30k. :cool.:

Pfft, everyone knows things are going much better in the 41st millennium than they did in the 31st!

....oh wait. :teehee:

Oh well, suit yourself :D  Sexy avatar choice, by the way.  Is that part of a bigger work of art?

Sexy avatar choice, by the way.  Is that part of a bigger work of art?

Friggin sweet, huh?

Apparently it's called 'Sentinels of Calth', by Franz Vohwinkel. At least that's what the link tells me. Pretty sure it was in one of the HH Collected Visions books.

Woof...I think I was happier just seeing the close up.  So many awkward mistakes, and that face!  :teehee:

Anyway, back on topic

Today in the hobby I paid $33 on ebay to get a pewter Helbrecht, because :censored: Finecast!  I don't wanna pour hours of my life and love and expensive paint into a model just so it can melt when my air conditioning breaks. :biggrin.:

...caught my cat, Magos Gizmo von Warhammerstealer, testing out his Servitor wet-ware on the dining room floor.  It would seem that it is need of improvement as he was swatting the heavy bolter armed Servitor all over the place and off the walls before it even had a chance to react.  For the sake of the hardware, I confiscated the Servitor.

Today in the hobby, I finished the assembly of my "Reclusiam Guard" and created myself several "Sternguard". Next Vanguard!

Shameless plug: http://www.bolterandchainsword.com/topic/265503-kastors-convpaint-new-kitbashed-bt-chaplains-wip/?p=3455757

Been assembling a bunch of the new marines:

Kitbashed a Shrike from various FW resin bits and bobs,

Assembled a vanguard squad for Shrike using the new box and some RG pieces from FW. 4 LC dudes and a TH srg.

Built a tactical and a sternguard squad for my IF using the new boxes.

Aaaaaaand have a blistering cold.... so painting is put off until i can, well.... Breathe.

Also recieved some FW stuff to add to the slowly growing HH model pile. Still undecided on a Legion, will wait to read/see the Salamander Stuff.

.. I wondered what variant of lazcannon is on the centurion suits.

.. I started painting up the centurion sgt I finished making.

.. compared terminators to centurions, and determined that the fists on a centurion are bigger than power fists.

.. realized the story of Fulgrim is essentially 'The picture of Dorian Gray'

.. wondered if there's going to be some future reference to 'Fifty shades of Gray' as a result.

.. tried to figure out what would make a captain good with the new rules.

.. wondered if people are still going to ignore the 'X model can only be used in Y army' so I can still use my old captains.

Well today in the hobby I'm:

Tearing apart my room trying to find a model thats gone MIA/been sucked into the warp.  IF I can find the bugger today (the dark vengeance plasma gunner biker), He and his bolt pistol brother are getting cosmetic weapon and shoulderpad upgrades for use in an eventual biker command squad.
