Oooooo now i wanna play, evil heinrich, im supossed to be using alllll my time on building!

Stay focused man, those Oblits are amazing, I can't wait to see them finished.

Congrats mate, looks like its going to be a fun ride.

Indeed, it's nice for all of us to have a drive to paint and complete our various projects.

Cool stuff, man. I look forward to seeing the ice world table and some pics!

Also, seeing that scaled up Loyalist Marine is making me think why the hell haven't you started a force of the Emperor's Finest (HH-era)?

Thanks man, gonna plan out some scenery tonight. I had planned on starting a Badab war era force, however that got shelved due to time constraints from school so it's entirely possible I may pick it up again in the future. Sadly if my gaming group decides to start up fantasy this summer then my focus may be shifting to Dark Elves for a while, but who knows.

Heinrich, where is that you are playing at?? Is it at a local shop or somebody's garage?? Where do you regularly play at?? Do you frequent any of the bigger shops up there??

Any progress on the new Hashec?? Has he got some paint on him yet??!!

Awesome stuff as always Brother Heinrich! Love seeing pics from the front-line and those hooded marines, I don't think there is an English word to describe my excitement to see the finished product.

Thanks man, school's been a bit busy of late, but I should be getting some more work done on the Plague Marines this week. I think I'm gonna have to bite the bullet and buy another box of raptors for all the juicy conversion bits contained within.

Makes me wish I was still playing.

I'm definitely thankful that I have a group of guys here that are as motivated and down to earth as me. I stopped grabbing random games at FLGSs a while ago because all I ran into was every variation of "that gamer," from touchy-feely guy to rules lawyers. It's gonna suck when my career path and theirs takes us away from this place.

YAY! I love that you take the time to write some fluff and give us Pictures. I'd love some bat-reps with pre- and post-fluff. Keeps me motivated to continue working on my own Campaign.

Keep up the great work!

thanks, happy to motivate you man, I love campaigns and forging the narrative, hoping to see some pictures and fluff from yours as well.

Awesome, man. Loving the campaign pictures/ideas.

Keep on sharing! Its great to see this sort of thing now that GW / WD doesn't bother with campaigns anymore.

Thanks MagicMan, I'm glad everyone is enjoying these updates, I'll work on my GIMP skills and try to make the pictures a little more immersive with green distortion and less beer bottles lol. Expect more fluff in the future as well with the new Plague Marines and Hashec 2.0.

We swap between my buddies garage, his brothers house (where we're building the ice world atm), and Guardian Games in Portland. I haven't checked out the GW up here, but that's mainly because the pictures I've seen only show two small tables and with our gaming group we regularly have two games going. We like to knock back a few beers as well and Guardian Games has a bar and a 21+ section which is pretty awesome. GW could learn a thing or two form them.

As far as Hashec goes, no paint yet, however I picked up some more primer, a new brush, and the GW technicals Nihilakh Oxide and Typhus Corrosion. I'll be giving these new technicals a try on some test models, if they turn out good then I'll be using them for the Plague Marines and possibly Hashec (considering he's now MoN).

The GW up there is indeed small. The guy running it is also kind of flighty to put it politely... He opens when he wants to and runs the place like it's a privileged he even let you through the door!! Plus I find better deals online, or just order directly from GW. Then I don't have to deal with people who at my age, I no longer have the patience to deal with.

When I was still drinking I too used to like to go to GG, but I haven't been there for... 3 years I bet. But you still can't beat a friends house/garage for a reliable place to play and not worry about table space!! :)

so heinrich whats the next project? and will it also be obliterators? and when are you comming over to visit?

and what is the squareroot of a turnip?

hmm might have beeen overdoing it, should eat lesss greenstuff, anyways i always find your project inspirational, and really do want to hear what ideas you have, what will you build next?

It is really neat that you go the extra mile (or two or three) and really flesh out your campaigns and even the individual reports. *Much* more interesting than just taking pics of dudes lining up models and throwing dice at them.

Amen to that man, I'm pretty stoked about the modular board we built last weekend, can't wait for the latex texture mat to come in so we can paint it up all Ice World fabulous.

I really need to get on with my campaing, don't I. Building the Zone Mortalis for it takes way too much time...

Yes you do, also I'd love to see how you guys build your zone mortalis as we're planning on building a board as well.

Man I'd love to come visit, Sweden is actually up there on my places to visit list. I really want to spend a couple months traveling Northern Europe with my wife. Hopefully one of these days we can make it happen. As far as projects go, for now it's just finishing Hashec Tor up and completing these Plague Marines.

Thanks Flint, one of the things that drew me to this hobby was the setting, I do my best to hold true to the grim nature of the universe while also presenting it like an official history. I always enjoyed that and wish GW would go back to weaving the narrative around campaigns. On the same token though I enjoy having the free canvas of "In the grim, dark universe of the 41st millennium..." on which to paint free of GW's recent influence.

I just found your plog, and i must say your work is rather impressive. Can't wait to see what else you got in the works.

Thanks man, not too much more left to go. For now it's Plague Marines and a Biker Lord. I'll probably build a Contemptor down the road if I ever get a Kheres pattern assault cannon.

Well ladies and gents, another night and another bit of progress on the Plague Marines. I hate scrolling through a WIP log and seeing nothing but text conversations, so I try and make the effort to post some WIP pictures on every page of this log. With that in mind, here is the latest progress on the Plague Marines attached to the 15th Company:

http://i1162.photobucket.com/albums/q532/mv8830/Night%20Lords%20II/1622799_10152574103428761_1578834148_n_zps821ddb5b.jpg

Currently I've got several ideas fluff-wise floating around my head. First-off, I've elected to give them the older Chaos Space Marine backpacks because they are larger and add more to the bulk of each model than the Dark Vengeance ones they come with. With this decision I also remembered a line in either Betrayal or Massacre talking about how that style of backpack originated with a need for greater directional controllability in void combat.

Because of this I've decided that these gents are going to be the remnants of 7th Claw, who were in fact void warfare specialists. I haven't yet decided the exact particulars of their separation form the 15th, but rest assured I'll flesh it out. Additionally I'm not quite sure what colors to paint these guys so I'm open to suggestions.

On one hand I can go the route of matching the company colors, however with how dark the armor is, paint chipping doesn't show very well, and neither do oil and rust streaks. The other option is to go the more traditional route of pastel greens that we're used to seeing on Plague Marines. If you guys have any advice on properly weathering/corroding midnight armor I'm all ears, either leave a comment down below or shoot me a PM. Thanks and as always,

Ave Dominus Nox

Well, if you want to see how to build a ZM have a look over at my thread. Got a lot of progress pics there. Hopefully I'll even be able to prime the fist 9 tiles next week.

The PMs look good. How do you do the tubing or whatever it is called coming out of the mouth of the middle guy? Really like the old school backbacks.

Oh, and if you come to sweden, let me know. I wanna kill your miniature army =)

How about trying to “bleach out” the dark blue? As if the original midnightblue lost some pigmentation due to the exposure to chemicals, radiation and such? It will allow you for a much lighter blue scheme may be even with some green-ish tint.

I'm thinking rust and rust and rust.

Stay with my thought process

The skulls and hoods are from the decay of the body over time, skeletons are animated by nurgle warpcraft souls bound to the suit and skeleton but under the armour there are no organs blood or anything but the skeletal remains, the armour isn't pus ridden or ooze filled it's simply rusted and corroded over the ceramite and it fits well into a terror theme.

Just how I'd like them so ignore if you wish

Or if they have been "lost" in the void, maybe go a little heavier on the silverish colors and then streak them up with rust. Or bronze trim with the new oxidized paint...

Maybe normal NL colors armor-wise, but do the hoods, tubes, and gribbly bits all puke green...

End of Line

haven't commented in awhile, just thought I should let you know,

I have officially moved from "fan" to "stalker"

If you ever come to Australia, you can crash on my couch brother Heinrich

Cause this is just too cool man.

Its funny you mention all that becuase I have been gaming at gw lately, and have become a little dis-hearted about the whole system in general.

Well maybe just the stores and the managers but yeah, I dont want to start a rant in your thread.

So its great to see all this. I've always wanted to build terrian :)

Personally, green Night Lord Plague Marines are a no-go. Some of the suggestions above are brilliant, however.

You could try a paler, acid rain-streaked blue (ala the Crimson Sons, but a little darker) and a rusted bronze trim with black/dark grey hoods. That way, there's the visual link to the Company/Legion, but because it is paler and more battered, it is visually different as well.

In some cultures white is the color of death. I know your skills so why dont you try something like bone colored armor (not Death guard color but more ebony) with distinctive markings on shoulder pads to tie them with rest of your Night Lords. White also gives you nice opportunity to paint some blood splatters or dried blood etc. Or you could go with route of inner, unholy or eerie light (yellow or red for the contrast) coming from the armor (painted in ordinary Night Lord colors).

Those are my suggestions based on what I thought when I saw them.

Please dont paint them green it so overdone that I got Nurgles blessing everytime I see Death guard army. :D
